IceColdVeins:well tbh dogs aren't for everybody, not everyone knows how to handle dogs and properly raise them right, training a dog goes far beyond feeding and locking in cage. some people will say they want an aggressive dog or a particular breed they know nothing about and when it goes out of hand everyone blames the dog. millions of people own dogs around the world and have never recorded any tragedy like this, the mistake of some few people doesn't condemn the animal or all dog owners. people still own dogs that help their lives in several ways, owning a dog doesn't put you on your toes. dogs will be dangerous if you make them to, it's the owner's fault for keeping an aggressive dog that hasn't been socialised with children in a place with a small child and he should face the consequences for it. if you take the necessary precautions when choosing a dog or training a dog then nothing is wrong. |
mikezuruki:if you read what I typed and still found something to be angry, stupid and loud about then your ignorance is clearly long term. read what you just replied with and see if you have sense and any body would waste their strength having a conversation with you |
UniversalDove:it's not a pitbull. it's most likely a cane corso, it's kind of hard to tell since the face is covered but it's definitely a mastiff not a rott |
mikezuruki:dog attacks happen in literally every country that has dogs, it's not a Nigerian thing, the cases are even more severe in other countries. it's the owner's fault that this thing happened not that because the person has a dog. the dog was not properly socialised and trained, it wasn't possessed by any demon. blame the careless owners and not the animals please, dog's behave how you condition them to behave. |
IceColdVeins:but that's not a rott, bloggers just use the Rottweiler's name because it's popular and they just want more attention to the post. the truth is that any dog that is aggressive and badly trained can do this, whether rott or gsd or boerbel or Caucasian, let's stop attaching tragedy or bad traits to particular breeds. if an aggressive dog is not properly socialised, it's capable of hurting little children like this, it's the owner's fault not the breed. |
Jackonsy:next in line to rott?? they literally have nothing in common |
Roscoe's snack this afternoon, these are frozen goat spines I got from the market. I buy them once in a while for him to munch on, they are mostly made of cartilage and bone marrow, even a pup can chew them(if you're giving them to a pup put them in a mortar and pound them first to crush them just to be safe). the ones in the plates cost 200 naira, and it comes with some other unbreakable bones too that you can boil and use the broth for your dog's food, it also comes with meat attached to it. I give him either raw or cooked, depends on where I buy from and if I can freeze them properly note I said goat spines not cow spines, cow spines are not soft like this ![]()
|
Jackonsy:why would someone want to mix a bullmastiff with a rott? that's a very ridiculous mixture |
Jackonsy:yes |
Megyucy:imagine how sad and meaningless your life has to be for you to be making fun of a beautiful 7 month old puppy by 1:45am for attention, I can't relate. |
MrrKay:what you're giving her is already okay from what you said now. just increase the quantity of her food and she'll be fine. and what I mean by exercise is that you should make sure she runs around or plays as much as she can. it mustn't always be formal walks for exercise. |
Smart4sexygirls:Rottweilers ![]() |
Jackonsy:lmao, he's actually saying you shouldn't breed the dog, the dog is too mixed to be bred. see how people couldn't even tell what it was mixed with?, if you want to breed it what breed are you going to use?. a dobberman? a gsd? either way the pups will probably not come out well, you'll just bring a whole new litter of mutts. just enjoy your dog and raise her, not every dog should be bred, it's not a compulsory thing to do, her bloodline is too mixed and she'll just be giving birth to unpredictable pups. |
vincentjk:port Harcourt |
You've finally started a thread for Rex and roxy
they are doing well, you're doing a good job bro keep it up ![]() |
vincentjk:oh thanks I've been looking for a syrup like that |
Jackonsy:that's good to hear, just take care of her well, she seems like a good dog |
MrrKay:increase the quantity of her food and add more protein too with more exercise, you'll notice the difference ![]() when she bulks up and starts adding muscle mass you'll see how much better she'll look. the frequency of her feeding is okay too the only thing you should change is the quantity |
vincentjk:where did you get the b complex? and his much was it? |
MrrKay:I think Vincent is right, she does look lanky, I think it's because you haven't increased her food serving recently. she has probably grown bigger than the amount you usually give her because I can tell she's eating healthy, her coat is shiny and she looks active, it's just the quantity that's the issue. also your fear of her getting obese is funny, don't you know she's a boerbel? ![]() are you expecting her to be the weight of a gsd? lol feed her well abeg, the beauty of a boerbel is it's mass and bulk .even if she adds weight she can still carry it don't be afraid lol. at her age she should be weighing about 36-45kg which is higher than the weight of the male German Shepherd so imagine how much all those massive adult ones we see in dog shows weigh ![]() boerbels have the bones and frame to carry body mass, is what they're built for, more weight won't kill her or slow her down. just keep up with a chart to know if she's adding too much weight for her age and you'll be fine bro, obesity isn't good yes but some breeds are meant to be bulky that's why you should check dog's weight based on breed. a malnourished cauc will still weigh more than an obese gsd , it doesn't mean the dog isn't underfed. ![]() |
Jackonsy:09032973583 you can WhatsApp me |
Jackonsy:there's nothing about the paws that makes it look like a local dog, don't mind him lol. it's a gsd/dobberman hybrid, you can tell from the markings on it's eyebrows and the body stature that it has dobberman in it. the colour pattern, fur and ears show it is part sable gsd. there isn't any local dog marking on it to me |
Jackonsy:the dobberman breed doesn't grow fat so I guess that's what's causing her to look lean like that. there isn't much you can do, it's genetics so just feed her well and make sure there's enough protein in her diet |
it's a dobberman/gsd mix |
rumenase:ah sorry that happened. that's why I always warn people not to even come close to my gate if no one is around and my gate too is also locked, I don't want to experience accidents like this. the way it is now, for you to enter my compound without permission, you have to actually break in which makes you a criminal and vindicates any dog attack. |
okikiosibodu:ah thanks a lot I'll read the thread ![]() I still think he's going to attack people if he's offleash tho, anytime I'm walking him around that time he's usually very alert and self conscious, once someone starts walking on the street he'll know and start waiting to attack the person if the person does anything suspicious. I think maybe it's because of the time I walk him, when I walk him during the day he's more laid back and relaxed esp when there's a crowd. when it's dark, if he sees anyone carrying a torch, running, or carrying something like a bag or stick or even umbrella as a suspect and he growls at them, even if they're coming behind us he'll wait and turn back to stare and growl at them until I wait for them to pass and go far away from us. if the person shouts or runs, he attacks them, even if I raise my voice at them he attacks. I don't trust him off leash around people so he won't hurt someone thinking he's defending me. he also does this during car rides, he doesn't let anyone close to the car, he'll put his head at the window and bark, anyone that comes too close to the car or touches it will get barked at. the worst is if you put your hand through the window or try to open the door .sometimes when we go out we leave him in the car (with the windows down and the car parked in a shade of course) with confidence that the car is safe ![]() for now, I only take the leash off when the road is empty, once I notice he's stopped walking and he's staring and growling at the distance, I know someone is coming and I put the leash back on. and upon all my pleas with people not to stare at us or run or even flash torch at us, they still do those things which in turn will trigger him to see them as dangerous, the people that just mind there business and walk past, he ignores them(he'll just stare at them till they go). I just feel like he's protective and territorial, not everyone will understand that they're the one's making him see them as dangerous, if an accident should occur I'll be the one to carry the blame despite all my warnings so I'm just trying to keep him away from people who don't know how to act around dogs(which is virtually every one in my area )I'll still check out the thread tho, I usually let him walk off leash when it's very early and the road is empty so I'll still need it, thanks a lot bro |
okikiosibodu:he does the exact same thing that boerbel does too ![]() once he's inside the compound, people he'd let get close to him and even touch him outside are gonna get attacked if they try to enter. their was a time I took him out to see a friend that had 3 dogs so he could socialize with them. after we were done(we spent several house there), my friend escorted us back home and even walked him on the road. when we got home, I left him outside with my friend to get something inside the house then after a few moments I started hearing barking and my friend calling my name when I ran back outside I saw that my friend was about locking him in his kennel, when I entered inside then he turned on my friend and tried to attack him. fortunately, he was already inside the kennel when he turned back so my friend was pressing the kennel door shut while Roscoe was barking and trying to get to him ![]() |
Toju200:when the fur comes out longer comb it instead, combing it will detangle the ones that are already tangled and remove the detached fur too. start preparing yourself for your dog's shedding season ooh ![]() it's good as you regularly brush his fur, it'll make grooming him easier for you, mine wasn't groomed in 2 weeks during his shedding period that's why the fur came out like that ![]() |
Toju200:yeah hopefully the shedding will stop soon because their is fur literally everywhere right now. on the compound walls, on our clothes, the center piece in the parlour, I'm tired of sweeping and brushing them off ![]() |
For some days now I've been finding fur all around my house and compound and immediately I knew the culprit. I haven't been able to groom him for about 2weeks now but the amount of fur I combed out surprised me, I had to even sweep clumps of fur out of my bathroom after bathing him and pull out some from the drain. the one on the pic is just the fur I combed out from his body ![]() his puppy fur is finally gone lol, he has been shedding them off heavily for some time now and I think this is close to the last one because the puppy fur is almost completely gone. I try to comb him once a week to prevent matts and tangles and it works, if the detached fur isn't there to tangle with the new one then his fur will be free and neat. sometimes when I'm free or bored I just call him and run a comb through his fur.

newsynews:you can start taking her on short walks once her vaccines are done though, it's not a strict rule. use the 5min per month method, for every month she is, add 5 mins to her walk time, that's by 3 months/15mins, then keep adding 5mins as she ages and do it less frequently when she's young. it'll help her get used to it faster, if you suddenly bring her on walks when she's 6months old she might be nervous and fidgety which isn't good at all at that age. |
newsynews:pipe down Mr your thread hasn't even gotten up to 2700 views and most of the views were even generated due to the argument I've personally been carrying. ![]() and I have no affiliation with any dog food company, I'm just a dog owner who felt offended with the way you talked about his feeding plan and also other people that subscribe to the plan in an ignorant antagonistic way. that's just my issue with you, I've even been complementing your dog and trying to give tips where I can, I don't have any bad intention or beef with your thread. as you can see,I'm not the only dog owner you offended with your unnecessary statements so you should know you went off track as I typed most of those messages sef I was gisting and laughing with people, I'm seriously not bothered about what you're feeding Jessy nor do I want you to switch to dry food. I even talked about how I want to switch to homemade recipes earlier on, it's not like I have an issue with them. currently I'm trying different recipes on my dog to see the one that sticks since he's been removed from kibble diet by me. stop bad mouthing stuff you don't know about |
