OdefaGirl: I need to drink more water..... I believe in my water therapy....... feels headache or too much pressure at work, I grab my room temperature water....... not the cold one, coz that increases the headache and gives me joint pains some times. How healthy is drinking hot - warm water almost everyday ? I have a friend(Male) that takes hot-warm water everyday. He claims to prefer it to cold water/ room temp. water. Anyone with better knowledge can also give their thoughts. Thanks |

A friend of mine got a call yesterday about the proposed 3rd term resumption in private school via Online and that the amount to be paid will be forwarded accordingly. Today, she got a message which reads :
Dear Parents,
*NEW PLAN FOR ONLINE SCHOOL* This is to inform all parents that due to the pandemic and sudden lockdown which has led a set back in the academic session, the school has therefore decided to intensify the already existing WhatsApp learning classes, this is to enable pupil to remain up to date with their studies.
The emergency closure of the school has come with it's own challenges such as; Pupils not having their textbooks to work with. Having to turn our parents to emergency teachers without training. We have therefore derived a mode of communication; Use of ICT Gadgets such as *LAPTOPS, ANDROID PHONES(WhatsApp or Zoom)* We urge our parents to please coorporate with us in achieving a smooth-running Online School for 3rd Term.
We crave your indulgence to please be available on WhatsApp to discuss the modalities of learning.
Date: Sunday, 3rd May 2020
Time: 5pm
I look forward to having on board. *COVID-19 is a phase, it shall surely pass. Please stay safe*
Many thanks Management Funcrest Schools
Recall that the Lagos State Ministry of Education had issued a directive that Schools remain closed and that there will be no Third term yet . I believe Schools in Lagos State operate a unified system .
What do you think about this ? |

Politics › Nigeria’s Proposed Infectious Disease Act: Plagarised And Dangerous by IamCookie(op): 2:52pm On May 01, 2020 |
On April 28, 2020, a piece of draft legislation that could permanently change the experience of Nigeria as we know it was quietly transmitted to members of the House of Representatives for consideration. On the surface, it is a somewhat innocuous bill – possibly even praiseworthy and necessary, but as has become the case in recent times, a closer examination of this bill reveals that it potentially creates a lot more problems than it purports to solve. The Infectious Diseases Act is supposed to create a legal framework for the federal government to manage the special circumstances surrounding infectious disease outbreaks like the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which at last count had claimed 44 lives across Nigeria. Sponsored by House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, what the bill is supposed to do is provide an updated legislative basis for the government’s anti-pandemic efforts, replacing the National Quarantine Act of 2004, which many have identified as the cause of least some of the FG’s initial flat-footed response to COVID-19. In reality, it potentially opens the door to a new set of legal and constitutional quagmires. Also, it is almost entirely – word for word – plagiarised from the Singapore Infectious Diseases Act 1977. Reactions have continued to trail this "supposed " bill by the Honorable speaker of the House of Representatives. EagleSquare1: I am sorry, but I guess we are all clueless. I would have expected discussions here on possible MDAs (even if we haven’t read the report) to be merged or scrapped, but all I am getting are insults and counter-insults flying all around.
I would recommend a report that will just merge all our heads here together and have them scrapped due to the overhead cost of wasted data and man hours! Hmm. You are so on track. Accordingly ,you could also be a part of the proceeding by looking into the report and bringing it over for further discussion. Looking forward, where convenient |

Uchedeformula: Madam, the truth is that no Administration in Naija can implement such recommendation in its first term. Absolutely not feasible because downsizing will step on many toes and pose threats to re-election. I personally believe that if Jonathan had won 2nd term, he would have implemented it.
With due respect Ma'am, this is Nigeria. Our political terrain is very sensitive. And if you study our history very well you will realize that radical decisions are made by Civilian Presidents and Governors often in their 2nd tenure. It's a norm, and wise politicians play by this rule. You have a valid point. |

chukel: part of the oransanye report on NDDC has been implemented though in a modified manner. Oransanye recommended collapsing NDDC into ministry of Nigerdelta as it was a duplicity of function. The fraud in the past was that most contracts awarded by NDDC were also awarded by Ministry of Nigerdelta and vice versa. Still those contracts ended up unexecuted after full payments. So buhari pushed the NDDC from presidency to the purview of ministry of Nigerdelta. But the real thing is to collapse in into the ministry And I think it's reasonable. Thanks |

Cantonese: No. The report would have been implemented if GEJ won the 2015 election. The question you should ask why did it take this long for this government to implement it too?
Government is a continuum as they say. Truthfully GEJ had great policies drawn up but politics by this APC government continues to be a barrier towards the implementation of the policies.
How many policies have APC government drawn up how much more implement them? Lol. Someone noted that ORONSAYE report was done in 2011 and it took your PDP, under GEJ years to give considerations which never happened. Second term na WAEC...who talk say u go pass? 2011-2015( space of 4yrs) |

4Play: Nigerian governments are not keen on streamlining the public sector as a bloated public sector allows for the distribution of political patronage.
Like an obese man who starts slimming down after developing AIDS, the government had no choice but to cut down now given its run out of money and is desperately seeking IMF bailout. Quite Easily Said. #thumbsup sir |

tee4naija: Not just COVID-19, they needed a second term. Now that they have it, they didn't need our votes again. Mark my words, the agencies that are going to be affected the most are either the ones currently headed by a southerner, the ones with the most southerners population or the ones that promote southerners interests like NDDC.You think the probe of NCDC is just about corruption? Far from it. It's a planned move to set the ground for its eventual scrapping. I don't think there will be anything like "eventual scrapping of NDDC, " especially when there is also the existence of North East Dev commission. NDDC is too important.. ! More so, I think the Oronsaye report had suggested and recommended the modus operandi to reducing the cost of governance in this direction, so the issue relating to Southerners dominating agencies should be out of our concerns. |

Trial by error government.
Achievement(s): Nothing.
They now know that this recommendation from the Jonathan Administration is the best. Commonly called the Oransaye report, the 800-paged report had recommended the abolishment and merging of 102 government agencies and parastatals. It was recommended to Jonathan's administration but he lacked the political will, and not Jonathan's administration recommending it to Buhari's . |
