Anambra State Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism Christian Madubuko has resigned over alleged threats to his life, Igbere TV reports.

Mr Madubuko, in his resignation letter, urged the governor Willie Obiano to take charge of his government.

The resignation letter reads, “In the cause of fighting corrupt individuals holding the state revenue on the throat, all manner of frivolous petitions against me were written to the governor accusing me of several misdeeds particularly destabilising our party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance and advising the governor to remove me before l do more harm to the party.

“In several occasions, agents of darkness tried bribing me with millions of the naira. I arrested these criminals and this was applauded by the governor at the EXCO meetings. Within these three years, l have been redeployed to three key ministries in the state as Commissioner.

“With all these happenings, it became clear that when you fight corruption, corruption fights back in several forms.

“Those toes l stepped on are now in the prowl for my life. I am no longer safe as l speak. On three different occasions, l received the baptism of fire by unknown gunmen/assassins. I was equally attacked severally at the Onitsha Main Market by the agents of the revenue criminals.

“All these attempts were to stop me from exposing the people involved in siphoning the state revenues into their private pockets to the detriments of the Anambra citizens.”

Madubuko was at several times in three years appointed commissioner for industry, trade and commerce; commissioner for road, rail and water transportation and lastly as diaspora affairs commissioner.

“After almost 2 years of not talking, I finally sent my @officialgiftypowers a DM I can’t lie I feelbso relieved i’m not cut out for war sha,” she wrote.

She said, “I’ve missed out on so much!!! We were so close. Pls don’t ask me why we fell out……….I don’t remember.”

“My community, Nru Umueze Oboama, Ezinihitte Mbaise, IMO State, presented me with gifts as the first Lawyer produced the Umuike na Nkwo clan.

“To God be all the glory for mercies, ” he wrote.

Bengaluru police have arrested two Nigerian nationals and recovered as many as 3,300 Ecstasy pills and 600 gm of MDMA (Methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine) powder valued at Rs 1 crore (N51,748,548.04), Igbere TV reports.

The accused have been identified as Donchucks Okeke aka Tam Tam Dominique, 39, and Celestine Anugwa aka Omema, 40.

The police said that both the accused were living in Bengaluru for the last couple years and have not produced their legal passport and visa yet.

“The duo claimed that their passports have expired and they are living in India illegally,” the police said in a statement on Friday, December 25.

The Bengaluru East division police said in its statement that the duo was arrested while trying to sell this narcotic substance at a roadside tea stall behind Bagmane Tech park in Byappanahalli in the city.

The police said the duo procured the drugs through Darknet from the United Kingdom in order to sell them at high price during Christmas and New Year rave parties.

Besides the drugs, the police have also seized a high-end car from them.

A Kenyan schoolgirl Bridget Bema has become an internet sensation after a video of her being called out for multiple offences in her school went viral on social media, Igbere TV reports.

In the viral video, the school administrator was seen calling out the names of students who have committed a number of offences in school.

Bridget Bema’s name appeared in all the offences. Her name was in the list of latecomers, noisemakers, school bullies and disobedient students.

The video has since earned her affection among young Nigerians on social media.

Bema is a Kenyan content creator who is also the younger sister of rising Kenyan comedian YY.

She is also regarded as a child comedian.

American singer, Azealia Banks has called out the Nigerian-American founder of Theshaderoom, Angela Nwandu for not using her media platform to focus on Nigerian issues, Igbere TV reports.

The singer who accused the media personality of using her platform to denigrate black Americans, also stated that she should focus on the situation in Nigeria which is dire.

Asides accusing Nwandu of not having the courage to fight for her own, Azealia also alleged that China is funding Boko Haram and other groups to terrorize Nigeria and its citizens.

She wrote: "The shaderoom is run by a Nigerian woman who is more obsessed with denigrating black Americans than doing anything with her platform to bring light to the issues like SARS and Boko Haram that plague her home country.

“Sure blacks have issues here, but the situation in Nigeria is DIRE. She doesn't have the courage to fight for her own. She uses black American media to distract herself from how politically incapable she truly is.
