I guess you missed the 'Unprovoked' part of my previous reply.
I am a huge proponent of standing up for oneself or as in the case of the lady being discussed,sticking up for the little guy who isn't around to do so for himself.
The world has only evolved due to a vicious cycle of domineering,aggressive behaviour by one party followed by a period of resistance and the eventual challenge of that dominance by the underdog.
People like the OP, his sister and everyone else like them will continue to walk around with that aura of unearned moral superiority, mocking all who do not conform to their standards unless those views are challenged with an equal amount of ferocity.
passive aggressiveness has never gotten anyone anywhere.
