No, u are wrong. Some Indians are actually white, some are as white as everyday europeans or white americans while the majority however are olive to brown to dark skinned, just like the hispanics or latinos, majority are olive to brown to dark skin but there are still white latinos/hispanics.

The people that should be more concerned are those left behind. Everything they fear would happen to dem.

Igbo was once like them, very trusting and we paid the price heavily, now we are wiser.

U urself said the middle belt is chaos of many small groups that are not united. We want to avoid that.

The yorubas, we would have loved to share country with, if for nothing, at least our properties in Lagos.

But experience have taught us that is a bad idea, we will sacrifice Lagos for the stability we will gain in the long run.

Mind u, there are also negotiation to bring in Southwest Cameroon into Biafra, they also want to leave Cameroon.

There will be more than enough groups to balance Igbo population. We will have written agreement in our constitution on power rotation and also laws to protect minority languages. Unless u have other group in middlebelt u cannot do without. (Ebira are welcomed but they should ask.)

I dont know wat u lot are scared of, becos our intentions are good, not bad.

Southern Cameroons, yes they were once part of Eastern Nigeria, they chose to remain in Cameroon while Adamawa chose to join Nigeria. I think that idea may never work. I have never heard any southern cameroons claiming to want to rejoin Nigeria or Biafra. I know they are being opressed in Cameroon for being english speaking but their agitations are hardly heard of.

I think u should speak for yourself o.
A lot of igbo elites will never be able to leave Lagos. Igbo wealth there is too much, that is why u hardly see these elites agitate for Biafra. Abuja is becoming another interesting place for igbos, there properties there are growing in the millions every day.

If there is any middlebelt group that will join u igbos, it certainly cannot be Ebira. Have u ever been to Okene? Islam has so much affected ebiras to the extent that many ebira muslims are fanatics and extremist, almost like hausa-fulanis and these people do not like u igbos.

What if at the end of the day, all the minority groups refuse to go with Biafra including Anioma and Rivers igboid groups? Will u guys go with the only 5 South-eastern states and form a landlocked extreme densely populated republic?

Why is it that most of your people say u are not Igbos when your names appear very igbo-ish?

Sis, I do not dispute anything you have said. Igala no longer shares geographical continuity with Yorubaland. They have been in direct contact more with Igbo and Idoma than with Yoruba for many centuries. As a result, their language has been undergoing modification under Igbo and Idoma exposure. I am aware of many words shared in common with the Igbos, especially the Igalas of Ibaji area. I also know that in Aguleri, they call Ibaji Olu people. Ibaji and Aguleri are in fact, practically kin.

So i am in no way denying southern Igala's connection with Igbo. Despite this, the overall structure of Igala language is basically Yoruboid.

Attama and Asadu are not Igbo words. Nsukka people borrowed it from Igala. You will not find them outside Nsukka area. Igala and Igbo borrowed or corrupted osikapa from Hausa shinkafa. But I do get your point. I don't dispute the main premise of your write-up.

Hmm, you really know so much about both igalas and igbos. Are u igbo?

THIS IS THE PROBLEM, EVERYBODY SCARED OF IGBOS, BUT DID THE THOUGHT EVER CROSS UR MINDS THAT U GUYS HAVE GIVEN IGBOS MORE REASON TO BE SCARED OF THE LOT OF YOU?

U THINK IGBOS WILL RISK FURTHER ASSOCIATION WITH YORUBAS AFTER WAT THEY DID IN BIAFRA AND GEJ? EVEN THE MIDDLE-BELT, U THINK IGBOS WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE COUNTRY WITH GOWON PEOPLE AND DANJUMA PEOPLE?

WE ARE MORE SCARED OF THE LOT OF U THAN U ACTUAL THINK. THAT IS Y WE HAVE SELECTED A HANDFUL THAT ARE OUR NEIGHBOR AND SHARE CULTURES WITH US. THEY DECIDE WHETHER TO JOIN OR NOT, IT IS NOT MANDATORY.

WITHOUT BIAFRA WAR, NNAMDI AZIKIWE AGREED TO GIVE SADAUNA (AHMADU BELLO) A MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT, SO THEY CAN AGREE TO BE NIGERIANS. WE ALL KNOW, HOW THAT TURNED OUT. TODAY, IGBOS ARE NOT PREPARED TO TAKE SUCH RISKS AGAIN, WE TOO DEY FEAR.

Well, goodluck, but be rest assured that it would be an impossible task.

BESIDES, YORUBAS ARE GOING WITH THE HAUSAFULANI, WE DONT WANT SABOTEURS...

Even the so called geo-political zones are not constitutional, it was something started by Babangida which Nigeria is now overblowing. Check our constitution, no geo-political zones.
Middlebelt is just ethnically diverse just like Niger delta and that is why it is difficult for all the ethnic groups to fully unite under a common voice.

You cannot fight a powerful force without joining forces. Even among u Igbos, there will be saboteurs.

The list doesn't end! You should have known this if you had 'researched' as you said.

Most of these words are correct.
Igalas share many words in common with yoruba but we also share so many words in common with the igbos too and the shift is gradual. The more southern u go in Igala, the more igbo the words become due to our boundary with Igbos.
I am not so fluent with igala because i grew up in the north speaking more of hausa but i can also make a very long list of similar igbo and igala words.

Do u know that we southern igalas (Ibaji people) are called ORLU? because we are riverine people and this is exactly the name for riverine Igbos.
Igala and igbos share the same market days with exactly the same names for instance.

Abacha is Cassava in Igala/Igbo
Osikapa is rice in igala/igbo
Oko, Okoro/Okolo is same in Igala/Igbo
Akpati is box in igala/Igbo
Ajogwu is warrior in both igala/igbo
Atama is used as chief priest in both lang
Achadu/Asadu means same thing in both lang

Infact if u compare Igala and Enugu dialects of Igbo especially, the similarities in words are innumerable. Not to talk of similarities in names with Igbos. Most igala names sound igbo, however many also sound like Yoruba too.
In terms of language, Igala sounds more like yoruba but as u shift into southern igala, it starts sounding more like Igbo, by the time u enter Anambra/Enugu and hear Igala speakers there it is almopst sounding like Igbo and infact most igalas there are becoming Igbonized.
In terms of culture, Igbo and igala share so much similarities, infact u may not be able to differentiate Nsukka igbos and Igalas, the masquerades we use are almost the same.

The truth is that Igalas are the connectors (bridge) between yoruba and Igbo cultures and languages and should be appreciated by both, we shared boundary with both yorubas and Igbos for centuries until the Igbirras came and cut us off with the yorubas. That is why u see that Egbirras do not have much in common with yorubas except in clothes.

Well, the entire middlebelt is gradually being islamised. The question u ask urself is after that, will their be peace, as it is in the middle east?

The second thing is that, Igbo has more reason not to trust the middle-belt and some SS minorities. The Middle Belt and SS have no reason not to trust the igbos.

As for the fear of uncertainty, once igbo exit with or without the middle-belt and ss, ur matters will get worst, then u guys will understand the true meaning of domination at the hands of the North supported by the South west.

Thirdly, we are not after the middle-belt, we have select those we share culture and religion with and not the entire middle-belt. Yes the Igala and Idoma are the lucky ones. Maybe the Ebira too. I hope they request to join as they are not included.

Fourthly, their is no history of igbo dominating anybody. Actually it is the other way round and a major propaganda used to divide the SE during the Biafra war. The ijaw and middle belt have apologized for their errors and we have forgiven them and even invited two middle belt groups to Biafra.
http://thebridgenetworkonline.com/they-tricked-us-into-fighting-igbos-during-civil-war-middle-belt-group/

I think u igbos are just being selfish or trying to play too smart which will not work.
U cannot just handpick the minority groups you want to go with you to Biafra. It will never work that way. You have go first of all gain some form of regional unity and acceptance through a united system and quality leadership with these minority groups before these minority groups would be able to entrust themselves to you. Nobody would want to jump from the frying pan to the fire.

Do u remember late Maj Gideon Orkar? He was a middlebelter who believed that a united middlebelt and southern Nigeria without the core-north would be a very succesful country and believe me, truly it would have been as we all know that the core-northernerns (hausa-fulani and kanuris) are the ones dragging Nigeria bakckwards in a lot of ways.

If Gideon Orkar's coup had succeeded, be rest assured that hausa-fulanis would have been together with Niger republic by now. Gideon never fought for the middlebelt alone but for both the middlebelt and the south.
A united south and middlebelt is the only cure to hausa-fulani madness and hegemony, believe me. The british empowered these people a lot and as long as they are in Nigeria, getting Biafra will never be possible unless through a very bloody war.

And the media has always tried to make it out as it is the Hausa Fulani Muslims that are the opressors .
Any reasonable person will know that if really the hausa Fulani Muslims have decided to harm the Christians in southern Kaduna it would have been a done and dusted issue because the population the exposure and the strength is one sided in favor of the Muslims but the Muslim leaders and elders have always preached restraints not taking away the fact that some people who are most harmed by this evil people will not easily forgive.
One thing is for sure, if there has ever been a concerted effort by the Muslim population in kd , it would have been a done and dusted affair.

One thing i will promise u imbecilles is that a time will come when christians (especially northern christians) will unite and rise up to face this nonsense as one people. Then, either this country divides or survives, we shall see. Bastardds!

Nnamdi Kanu's report about the Igala's ancestry, is faulty, erroneous and highly defective. Please help me to tell him that! wink

Let me make this clear to you.
Igalas don't have one origin.
Go to Ankpa for instance, most of them there will tell you that they have hausa origins and this is very true because many hausas came to trade with Igalas and islam came through that route and that is why u see that it is only in Ankpa that u have a clear muslim majority in Igala land. Many Ankpa elders were still speaking hausa some few generations ago but it has died. Infact there is a town called Angwa in Ankpa that you will not find a single christian or animist family and u will see many Ankpa people answering family names like Dan'Asabe, Danjuma, Danladi, Danyaro, Dan'yahaya (all these hausanized versions of islamic names).

Over 1/3 of igalas will claim Kwararafa (jukun) origin today because we were conquered and ruled for so many years by them and all the royal igala families then have kwararafan blood or allegiance.

Some Igalas from Ofu axis claim that they and yorubas have a common origin, this is why they have the Ojogba of Ife title there (which is the oldest title in Igala land, even older than the Attah, and this is also the only king in igala land that does not bow for the Attah). Some sources claim that this Ojogba of Ife birthed Oduduwa which went to form Ife in yoruba land. Most yorubas will not accept this but most Benins do, because even the Benins claim that Oduduwa went to Igala land before reaching Ife.

Lastly, it has been shown that the earliest inhabitants of Igala land had a connection with the Igbos through Eri but it may not be the way many igbos are claiming it today that Eri was an Igbo man.
Further more, there were subsequent Igbo migrations into igala land (whether from Nri am not sure).

So, there you have it. This Kwararafa (Jukun) origin of Igalas is now gainnig wide acceptance because Jukun rulership over our people is the most recent re- shaping of our history, and our King has been promoting it, also coupled with the fact that many other middlebelt ethnic groups claim Kwararafa origin.

This is the definition of taking panadol over another man problem.

U are not Igala, u are not from SS or SE, yet u want to speak for all of us combined.

Guy, u cannot win this one. Igala and Igbo go way back into time.

They share ancestry and both groups are aware of this.

From what i have studied about my people's history, truly we have origins common with Igbos, but overtime, our Igbo similarities have been heavily diluted by other influences.

Igalas were conquered by Kwararafa kingdom for instance and today almost 40% of Igalas now claim Kwararafa origin including the current Attah Of Igala.
Many Hausas came to Igala land to trade and the spread of islam came and many of these Hausas were absorbed into Igala. Today if u go to Ankpa axis in Igala land, majority of them are muslims and they will tell u that they have hausa origins.
Also, i think Igalas traded a lot with yorubas before the Egbirras came from Kwararafa kingdom and cut igala boundary with yoruba off, this is why igala and yoruba are similar languages.
So, you can see the many influences.

Igalas have no connection with Nri as to what i know. I think Eri is the connection we have with Igbos.
Talking about Igala/Igbo connection, the truth is that Igalas are not a homogenous people by origin.
I have studied my peope's history and some of us have similar origins with Igbos, many of us came from Kwararafa Kingdom while others have Hausa and Yoruba roots.
Any igala person that will tell u that all Igalas have one origin is clearly misinforming u.

Most South-south and middlebelt minority groups will not choose Biafra because of fear of uncertainty and distrust for Igbos, i can assure you.
Gone were the days when the Eastern region was one and the Igbos so powerful in deciding the fate of neighbouring minorities.
If Igbos will ever win the heart and trust of their minority neighbours, they have to work to earn it. Otherwise i advise igbos to just stick to the South-east if their agitation will ever make sense.

Islam and Christianity is already a huge factor of differentiation among his people. I think Idomas may be in a better position for this.

Excuse me, are u from Kogi?
Have u been to Olamaboro, Ibaji and Igala mela axis of igala land? If u have not been there, go there and see the heavy similarities between people here and Igbos.
Some of our villages have igbo origins and many people from Ibaji and Olamaboro speak igbo fluently as second language.
Do u know that even among we igalas, we see ourselves differently? Many igalas from the northern part see us from the southern parts as Igbo-like and even mistake us for Igbos sometimes while we see them as yoruba or hausa like. For instance people often feel those tiger marks are borne by all igalas, but i usually let them know that those of us from southern igala never have such marks, i think northern igalas got those marks from Yorubas.
Southern igalas have been neighbours with igbos (Nsukka and Anambra people) for centuries and we have come to share many things in common with them and even them with us (cultural diffusion). That is why many of our people are indigenes of Anambra and Enugu.
However, northern igalas have the numbers and population, probably because of islam.
In Ibaji, we do not use the yellow and black striped clothes for all ceremonies, our women tie normal gele with laced blouses and two wrappers sometimes.

The truth is that middlebelt people share many things in common with Hausas, Yorubas and Igbos. It is the centre of Nigeria and like a mix of cultures.

When it comes to clothes, yes, most Kogi, Benue and Niger state clothes look very much like Yoruba clothes.
However, a section of Igala and Idoma also dress like Igbos, but the colourful striped style Agbada-like clothes which is more yoruba is dominating we Kogi and Benue peoples.
Sometimes i wonder why we middlebelt people were ever classified as northerners with hausa-fulanis when it is obvious that we share more in common with Yorubas, Edos and Igbos.
I hope we redefine our identity as Central Nigerians soon enough

We all in the south and middlebelt of Nigeria (Kogi and Benue) are under Niger-congo classification of languages. So it is normal for us to have similarities.

lol..... Have you ever seen an Igala person wanting to be Igbo?
Not me, not anyone.
Igalas interacted Heavily with both Yoruba and Benin, and are religiously plural, just like Yorubas and Edos.
The mask that the Atta wears (oju b'eju ailo) is even said to be gotten from the benins. Some said in a war, others said as a gift.

Ultimately even if we leave Igala alone, they will never be part of you guyz.... Just telling you that now, incase you think you can try anything.
If a referendum is held today, 70% of Igalas will chose to go with Oduduwa over Biafra. Thats just the fact.

I am igala by tribe and the truth is that most southern igalas may prefer to go with igbos while most northern igalas will prefer a yoruba or hausa union. So to avoid things like this, we may have to stay neutral.

African men willingly and intentionally create ""basterd" children right here in Africa. Are they any different from those women? At least the women keep and care for their children, undecided

Then a useless kid will run back to their father when they grow up, after all the sacrifice and effort of their mother. angry

No reasonable child will ever run back to his father who was never there for him.

Biafra begins and ends with the 5 south-eastern (igbo) states, South-south has nothing to do with Biafra.

This post is one sided.
What about black men who force themselves on those hopelessly fat ugly white society rejected women of Europe? Just because of green card or money?

The OP of this thread is just bias, because both black men and black women are guilty. Besides, many white people also like to have biracial kids and date a black person.

What is Taarab culture?? All I know about Taarab is that it is a genre of music done by the swahili.
Taarab is a music genre popular in Tanzania and Kenya. It is influenced by the musical traditions of the African Great Lakes, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent. Taarab rose to prominence in 1928 with the advent of the genre's first star, Siti binti Saad.

Tbh Kenyans prefer western attires. There is no big deal about clothes here

Taraab is a genre of music but these musicians always wear their traditional attires which represents their culture while singing. I guess it is the swahili or coastal east african culture.

Why do u think no big deal about promoting your cultural attires?
