Meanwhile hope you know the meaning of strategic. Or you believe that presenting a strategy means it is strategic.
Put simple, what in that writeup has potential to position Nigeria pivotally in the global coming of nations? Or project us into known economic blocks like BRICS?
Anyone who loves this woman should advise her against authoring such articles filled with wishlists and obvious contradictory policy positions. A monthly statement of activity showing progress and achievements and way forward is a more honourably way to connect with the outside world.
Or is she projecting that she's better as a columnist that a manager of national economy- our own Chancellor of Exchequer? you have a point though. I think she should do more in updating us about the specific current economic dynamics of the nation and a monthly or quarterly projection on the steps taken to reposition the nation's economy. |

As it is I rather not expect anything so that at the end of the day I won't be disappointed. Or at most I'll be severely surprised if they attain atleast 20% of their plans. Some items listed there is just playing to the gallery like the 5000 naira rubbish. And moreover where is the finance minister? She is supposed to give us something more comprehensive and not this superficial promises |

Can someone please write or start a thread for the mods to push to front page on why we the youth should float our party, the ideals of the party and how it will address our challenges as a nation. A party where there's no tribal discrimination but equal representation and total allegiance to the Nigerian course. Now is the time to start making arrangements for such not when 2019 is around the corner, so we can take our destinies in our hands |

klax: Honestly I love your words I think the youth should take charge I'm sick of all these people these old ones are just pack of headaches. who will start it, who will take the bold step. To me I don't care the region the person is from as long as he is a youth and share the same vision we have for this our dear country. We should not allow this present old politician spoil our country for us otherwise our children will become outcast in their own country. |

kay29000: If they form a new party, it would just be the same old politicians from PDP or APC with a new name. This is the best time for a fresh party with young bloods to grow. We keep shouting on Twitter and Nairaland that this people said we are the future leaders and they are still ruling us...talk is cheap. We need to be proactive and do something. A party with fresh blood needs to spring up right now. This is the best time for a move like that. l'm fully in support of such but who make the first move? I'm beginning to think us the youth of this generation are cowards compared to the generation of our father's. Our father's generation never had the kind technological advancement we the current youth are privilege to witness but they were by far more potent, active, productive and bold in pressing for their demands. we only shout and rant on media but no foot soldiers. If it were the youth of these days we will still be under colonial rule because we don't have the stomach to press home our demands. To buttress how docile we've become we still worship the likes of Zik, Awolowo, et al, adoring them mean while they are men long gone with history. and to think that this men were once youths and they became famous while they were youths, forcefully pressing home their demands while they were still youths until the colonial powers could not withstand the heat any more, they had to cave in. Why can't we produce another Awolowo or Azikiwe in this term an era unprecedented in the history of mankind where technology is at our finger tips. Instead we rather indulge in inter tribal bashing. I wail for Nigeria because when youth of country becomes distracted by frivolities, then that country doesn't have a future. |
Politics › Re: Politicians Realigning To Form New Party- ThisDay by IBBG(m): 1:07pm On Feb 28, 2016 |
klax: It's necessary. It's time for it APC that could have done Nigeria proud has blew their chance so a new brand party must emerge if not now but later.
APC has failed and disappointed almost everybody. We need leader not a politician or noise maker but a voice not a liar but a focus person. Fighting corruption on one side only PDP are corrupt very funny indeed.
It's a wonder and Unbelieveable that a whole Nigeria president turned traveller and to insult Nigeria more the so called president going places like Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Qatar, Yemen, India, Iran and soon Syria and his party defending him saying he went their to seek help for Nigeria it's a shame. Help from Qatar, Kenya, Sudan or iran it's an insult to Nigeria honestly APC missed it.
I support formation of a new sensible party honestly. What of if we the youth take matters into our own hands float a new party. Cos this old men don't care about us at all. they only remember us when it's time to ferment trouble during elections thereby loosing our lives |

drss: make una prepare o! very soon milk n bread go scarce cos buari dullard does not know economics. d only tin he understand is corruption. If i was in buari's shoes, dis is wat i for don do: - as soon as am sworn in, i will appoint minister of finance n constitute an economic team on 5th june 2015 to fomulate economic policies to drive d economy out of oil. i will make sure my economic team through budget office prepare 2016 national budget by september for presentation in october 2015. - i will prevail on national assembly to pass national budget before christmas break on dec 2015. - on june 20th 2015, i will devalue d naira n send suplimentary budget bill of N700 billion to national assembly for approval. dis monies will be use to support strategic industries like automobiles to help boost their production capacity for local consumption n export. i will partner with china to help develop our local content on manufacturing. d supplimentary budget will serve as an emergency budget to pave d way for export led economy. parts of d monies will also be used to help fix power infrastructure. - i will invest massively in agricultural mechanization. infact agriculture will get d lion share of N700 billion in my 2016 budget. If i were buari, i will improve d youwin program n support young pipul who have passion for farming. special grants will be given to poultry farmers instead of d so call N5,000 to d poor nonsense. - i will begin massive infrastructual development of roads n bridges n prepare a contract for d construction of 2 sea ports in south east n south south. container ports will also be established in north east for export of agricultural produce. - i will downsize d federal civil service. - i will abolish govt sponsorship of pilgrimage. make everbody hussle for him religious duties. - i will send a bill for final implementation of true federalism where every state will be responsible for demsleves. d states will have total conrol to their resources n develop their solid minerals within their domain. afta which i will abolish federation account. no more feeding bottle. - finally i will bail out all d states of d federation to enable dem develop their economic resources according to ther comperative advantage. each state will be responsible for generating their revenue. afta which all d states will be left on their own. dis is wat i will do if i were buari. Guy u would have made a better president than what we have now. Good governance is not rocket science, but when we have men with shallow intellectual capacity taking the reins of power, we are sure to suffer and pay for it. At point in time in our nation, we need men with sharp, precise, and strategic thinking to move this country forward. on another note we that have developed our capacity over time should avail our self the opportunity of joining politics to also contribute from our vast wealth of knowledge, rather than continue to standby and watch men with shallow thinking continue to frustrate us out of politics. |

odeotito: The capital market is a veritable source of raising funds for doing big business. The power firms should look in that direction. It is absurd and unfair to ask consumers to pay outrageous sums for power not provided to have power provided! Blackmail of this sort by the power firms won't help. that's exactly my thought. why not the electricity company float shares or bonds in the capital market to raise funds to finance their infrastructural development if they are really serious about business. I trust Nigerians they won't accept this daylight robbery. |
Politics › Re: Budgetgate And The 2 Trillion Fraud by IBBG(m): 2:48pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
ndcide: Some persons are shameless trying to trivialize the deliberate fraud in the budget. Trying so hard to remove the chief perpetrator and blame others.
1, The budget is owned by the executive. It is what they say they want to do. How on earth can they be mistaken about that. They say they want BMW and you call it error?.. How daft
2. The budget is first adopted at FEC before it is sent to the legislature. The FEC members also review the budget and defend it first before it moves. The president also makes his input to ensure that special areas that interest him are well accommodated. How then can he be ignorant of it.
3. Even if we say the ministers had no hand in it, we all knew buhari have been working with the Pam Secs all along, he even claimed that the ministers were not really needed. It means he must have passed his thoughts to them to implement.
4.The ministers came in and owned the budget, besides they are the ones to implement it. Or are they to implement what they didn't know?
5.Apc in general were all aware of this thing as they knew they'll all have their cut from the diverted funds. In fact that was the plan initially. The more reason they wanted a closed circuit government and are so pained that it's not going that way in the legislature. They planned to loot whilst shouting corruption and silencing others with graft threats.
6. The government went all out to defend this budget initially. Did you here Mohammed speak? "what about femi gbajabiamila, ndume, yayi etc. If we had an intimidated opposition this issues would have been history.
7. This unending defense at all cost, of buhari's " integrity " just has to stop. WHICH ARMED RUBBER NO WANT MONEY?" Buhari knows that the funds for his campaign was from diverted government funds. You think he doesn't know that his supporters will want to get things for themselves? Let's stop this hypocrisy. Or you think monies from those expenditures for the presidency will not be used to compensate his cronies? Please..
8. They presidency believed they could pull this through hence the deliberate hesitation until the shiit hit the roof.
9. We could recall that saraki was to be used as the fall guy but he was proactive by telling the president himself how difficult it will be to control. FACT!
10. If it's not deliberate, how can the corrected budget still have obvious and brazen avenues for fraud. You claim it's an "error" yet the corrections still have more avenues for graft. Haba some persons just want to lie to themselves. Let's call a spade what it is.
11. It's unfortunate the budget DG who buhari appointed was the fall guy. It's just a way to falsely preserve the pseudo-integrity of buhari. Besides it was saraki we heard of that was responsible.
12. The president still believe they can pull this one. Hence they are still looking for how to push it, rather than withdrawal. Sorry we all can't be blind.
13. The narrative of Always relating it to the last administration will spell doom for this government, if they don't stop. They'll say that, that was what was obtainable in the last government, yet they want to do same and feign ignorance. The Last government remains the standard.
14. We know sycophants of this government don't mind them looting while they call others thieves. We will not allow them. and the credit shouldn't go to them for not stealing. APC can be looking at the last government for corruption. We will look at them. We know efcc wouldn't do anything to them. But woe betide those who want to silence the voices of those watching this government or dismissing the claims of the watchers just to preserve buhari's interest. God bless u sir. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and presidency is answerable to us the tax payers whether he likes it or not. |
