drss2:God bless u. u've just re-echoed my thought. if our economy was in a better hand, the naira should be trading 250 to a dollar, and not this more than 200% depreciation in naira |
that was why ministry of information got more allocation in the budget than agriculture |
eduj:God bless u sir for this post. i keep saying it, it is the actions of this govt that is making us suffer like this. they said the last administration left an empty treasury. my question is, is 30 billion dollars not enough for this administration to have started something with it. under normal circumstances, if our economy was in better hands, the naira is supposed to be trading at 250 to a dollar irrespective of the fall in oil price. with all due respect to the office of the president, mr president is absolutely clueless about handling the economy of the nation, he doesn't care about how the masses are suffering. they said the oil susidy money will be reinjected into the economy, but nothing to show for it. and what is the govt doing currently to boost entrepreneurship in the country?. its unfortunate that we have a visionless, directionless, clueless, and absolutely blind president currently, whose major ambition was just to be elected president. |
SonofDevil:so is 30 billion not enough or too small for this clueless administration to do something in our economy? |
Businessideas:chairman leave all this story. didn't buhari inherit 30 billion dollars from the last govt. what did obasanjo inherit frm the military. the truth is this administration is absolutely clueless and the worst in the history of nigeria democracy. no matter what, if this administration was working, dollars is supposed to be trading at 250naira per dollar and not the rubbish dis administration is doing with our economy |
The Nigeria Police Force has expressed its intention to partner the Cross River State Government on the Garment Factory by sewing uniforms for the organization’s officers locally CrossRiver Watch authoritatively reports. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris disclosed this earlier today when he hosted a delegation of the state Government led by the Governor, Senator Ben Ayade to his office on a courtesy visit where he also appealed to the governor to provide land for the force to build a residential estate. IGP Idris according to our source, said the Police as part of its efforts to contribute to the nation’s economy will patronize local content, hence will sew its uniforms in the Cross River Garment Factor. Ayade, who was in the company of his Chief of Staff, Martins Orim and the Chairman of the New Cities Development Board, KJ Agba CrossRiverWatch learnt, was delighted at the propositions and accepted to partner with the Police. When CrossRiverWatch contacted KJ Agba on phone, he said that the meeting was part of his board’s drive to develop New Cities, in line with the vision of the current administration. Agba said that the residential estate will be streamlined with the plans the state has for New Cities and will not be a barrack as the public and police officers are eligible to own homes in the estate. |
if the managers of our economy were doing a great job, the naira is suppose to be atleast at 250 to the dollar. i believe that should have been the true value of the naira, irrespective of oil selling at 46 dollars per barrel. but since we have an incompetent and clueless economic hence the naira is where it is as of now. |
l hope say them no go loot and waste d money |
a good one there for pharmacy. if that is what is needed to improve medical delivery to the patient then so be it. One group can not lord it over others in order to frustrate them frm reaching their full potential, becos they are afraid they will also be seen as being important to health care delivery. When they first supressed it, they were happy beating their chest. Not knowing that justice delayed is not justice denied. When it is ur time to enter the next level, no forces no matter how big they are can stop you. Congrats to pharmacy for this well deserved achievement. its time to unshakle medical practise from the cabals who've been holding it down. I see other medical profession growing and taking the medical field to the enviable height it ought to be. |
basilo101:it is still good. as long as it bring down the price of goods. i still believe there is still a huge untapp market that the factory will harness, cos the last time i checked we are still importing cloths that we have no business importing even with the Aba factory in place. military, paramilitary uniforms, campiagn shirts, carnival costumes will all be produced here. so the potential are huge. |
kingreign:the roads u r referring to that are in really bad shape are the federal roads and not state road. |
kingreign:good roads alone will not put food on the table. you need industries to provide steady jobs for the citizen. the super highway is a road of great economic value, as it will serve as an evacuation corridor for goods produced in the industries. all are still laudable projects. |
Cross River State Garment Factory is the largest garment factory in the world by floor size and is awaiting the Guinness Book of World Records verification. The factory is a project of the Cross River State government under the leadership of Ben Ayade, the executive governor of the state. The garment factory is a very innovative investment in Nigeria at a time of recession and is expectedto create more than 3,000 jobs in shifts for Cross Riverians, especially women, and reduce importation of garments by promoting local production. The factory is expected to also promote economic development in Nigeria and add to the growth of the Gross Domestic Product. In recent times, the Cross River Garment Factory has been trending in the media for many good reasons. The first is that of all the states in the federation, the factory is one of the most outstandingprojects from any governor in the first year.On the other hand there has been some negative publicity related to the garment factory propagated by a few Cross Riverians which has to do with the ownership of the garment factory and alleged embezzlement of funds appropriated for its construction.I sought to find out more about the Cross River Garment factory for myself and many other Cross Riverians who would love to know the truth about the factory and separate them from the half-truths and lies being peddled in the media. In this journey of discovery, I took a trip to the garment factory to see things for myself, met the commissioner for Commerce and Industries and had a chat with him and spoke with some of the contractors involved in the construction of the factory. The Cross River Garment factory is located on 2000 square meters land space on the Goodluck Jonathan bypass in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. The edifice stands in a picturesque landscape with well-pave driveway and parking lot to accommodate expected clients and staff vehicles. Inside the factory are more than 2,000 electric powered garment production machines ranging from cutting to sewing, embroidery, ironing machines and many more. I observed that many of the machines are computerized.Work at the garment factory was more than 98 percent complete but there was still some skeletal work going on as a heavy duty equipment could be seen moving at the back of the building. A careful observation shows clearly that billions of Naira have been spent in bringing the factory up to that level of completion from the initial hills, trees, stumps and shrubs that occupied the area. These could still be seen in the adjourning landscape. The first question was, who owns the Cross River Garment Factory? Is it owned by the Cross River State Government or an individual? The commissioner answered the question very clearly. “The factory is a property of the Cross River State Government.”He said, “The Cross River State Government registered a Special Purpose Vehicle SPV to drive the project and achieve expected objectives and outcomes for the factory considering the peculiar challenges of government owning and running businesses in Nigeria.” The next issue I sought to know was, is it true that N2.7 billion appropriated was embezzled? The commissioner laughed long and hard and after that spoke very calmly. “If the N2.7 billion appropriated for the garment factory was embezzled, would you see this edifice standing here?” he asked. I was not yet done with the commissioner as there was one critical issue that all Cross Riverians wanted to know about, including me. Your guess is as good as mine. I asked him what was the role of Dr. Frank Ayade, the governor’s brother, in Cross River Garment Factory project? The commissioner looked me in the eyes and said without hesitation. “There are 8 contractors who handled various aspects of the construction of the factory. None of these companies belong to Dr. Frank Ayade. The governor’s brother thus has no official role when it comes to the construction of the garment factory.”These information provided by the commissioner of commerce and industry helped to clarify a lot ofissues surrounding the garment factory. I however asked him to do two more things for me. These were, grant me access to some of the contractors that handled work at the garment factory, so we could chat a little and provide documents backing these truths he had just presented to me.The commissioner obliged me and immediately asked one of his aides to take me to one of the contractors available at the factory and after that make photocopies of documents related to the garment factory available to me. Well to be truthful, I did not expect the commissioner would oblige so promptly. This gave me some amount of reassurance that maybe as opposed to the picture some people where trying to paint, the government was actually more open about the garment factory, its ownership and its funding than we give them credit for. As I studied the documents while my car was manoeuvring through the traffic in the city, I wondered why there was so much falsehood in the public space about the garment factory and why there was so much antagonism by Cross Riverians about the project that was intended to benefit them even as it is being celebrated by people outside the state. With these documents before me, the truth has been laid bare and I expect that the law must take its course as it relates to the false petition sent to the EFCC. We must find out who sent the false petition and EFCC must invite him or her for further clarification. In the end I will like to say that having gone round and discovering that most of the information being peddled around about the garment factory and Dr. Frank Ayade are tissues of half truths and lies, my last word is that our politics should not dovetail into hatred for our state. http://crossriverwatch.com/2016/09/cross-river-garment-factory-and-dr-frank-ayade-separating-truth-from-outright-lies-by-emmanuel-etim/ |

this man don follow the wail too stylishly o. |
it obvious u can't perform above what u're capable of. mr president has exhausted his capacity. he can't do more than what is on ground cos that is how far he knows. who says education is not important. you can now see the stark difference with being educated. even paul the apostle was considered the more influential of all the apostles even when he was not part of the original 12 disciples and never witness first hand jesus's teachings like the original disciples, but becos he was educated he wrote highest books of the new testament bible. we can't afford in this nation to have a president who is not well learneth in this 21st century. |
the weather is cloudy and not too bright as if it will rain. nothing out of the usual. #live from calabar |
Itulah:Now i understand why they are called zombie. imagine bare face lies even in midst of evidences and facts on ground. APC govt is also partly responsible in putting this nation in the current economic mess were are emersh in. |
eleojo23:God bless u for responding to him with facts. most of them come online and regurgitate trash to justify their ineptitude. the earlier they realize they are failing the better for them rather than try to pull wool over our eyes in the name of propaganda to defend their failures. |
holybabayo:God bless u. Donald Duke wasted our money on tinapa. And Imoke did the same with Summit hills. i'm happy ayade is taking the industralization route. Trying to boost the power sector in the state to drive industralization. |
buhari will not like this o. buhari and hate of criticism dey like that jacob zuma pics. |
i think wat the op should have used is why women are attracted to alpha males and not bad boys. cause bad boy tag conjures this bad image mentally. my take away is be incharge, show care only when necessary. and don't hurt urself to please her, and don't be too sentimental in luv. |
they should return it back to the default price they met. |
