I'm seriously learning from the advice people are putting up here. I once had a similar experience trying to woo a girl I fell in luv with for three yrs. I came to my senses and snapped out of the illusion and told myself no more shit and enough of this nonsense. since she wasn't coming forth with any reasonable answer. I immediately bone her matta and now the luv don die a natural death, such dat I no send anything about her. it's very funny to me now especially when I remember those days when I was madly in luv with her up to the point of evening begging her to go out with me. I go just d laugh at my naivety. the truth is that luv is just a figment of the imagination and an emotional thing. You can shut it out if you want to. it's not a totally helpless thing that you can't control as most people make it out to be. The bottom line is, I choose whom to fall in luv with, it doesn't just happen randomly. So in my own world I decide for luv, Luv doesn't decide for me. I choose Luv, Luv doesn't choose me. |
una d bash d guy as if wetin him talk no be true. no matter how painfull and bitter the truth may be we just have to swallow it. He is actually right in what he said. Nigeria na third world country. Na our leaders make us so. |

Before I go to my list(which happens to be my first thread in Romance section on Nairaland), I want to first of all salute the Bosses of Romance section, Tosyne2much and Wristbangle etc. Una too much, I absolutely enjoy all your write ups. They are interesting, educative and hilarious. Thumbs up to u guys. Following in the footsteps of my ogas at the top(Tosyne2much and Wristbangle) I decided come up with my own list of 7 types of beautiful girls I can never date. They are: 1) The Stingy Type: Hmmmmm, seriously if u date this type u r on a long thing the day u run short of cash to immediately transact something due to unforeseen circumstances, as it normally happens from time to time. Her 1 naira no fit drop for ground no matter how desperate ur situation is. She go even remind u to borrow frm ur frnds forgetting that u’ve spending on her before now. 2) The Temper Tantrum Type: If this type vex eh, where them dey look like say hurricane and tsunami just strike. Them dey destroy anything in sight. Be it that expensive iphone 6 plus or that expensive elegant ultra thin, ultra high definition plasma screen TV of more than 400k wey hang for wall. Them no send to destroy am wen dem vex. Me sef fear this ones o cos dem fit change ur personal profile to “gone too soon”. 3) The Proud and So Full of Herself: This type feel their beauty is everything. They don’t have any iota of respect for anybody and their beauty so gets into their heads such that it fuels their pompousity and egocentrism. This type are often shallow upstairs because they can’t humble themselves to learn. 4) The Glutton(AKA Long Throat): This type their throat long pass from Calabar to Maidugari. They are never contented with what they have. From the latest hair, dress, shoe and handbags to the latest phones(wey them no fit even operate properly). All to show off with money wey them no get or money wey them drain frm one mumu maga. This ones get potential to become runz girls to satisfy their bottomless desires. 5) The Lai Mohammeds: I beg, I no mean to offend APC people, but this kind of girls d make Lai Mohammed look like saint when it comes to telling lies. dis ones get PhD in telling lies such that their lies looks more truthful than truth itself. No matter how u smart reach dem go deceive u with lies 6) The Customer Care Agent: Dis ones na their papa invent GSM. All the time dem dey receive call and na only men d call dem. Wen u ask dem who call? dem go say na their step-sister aunty brother business partner. 7) I beg I don tire, u sef follow add your own to make the list complete. |

The Federal Government needs about $500m to fix the
nation’s crude oil refineries which have all been shut
down.
This was said by the Group Managing Director of the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Ibe
Kachikwu, on Saturday at a forum organised by the
Petroleum Club Lagos to celebrate his recent
appointment as the NNPC GMD.
Kachikwu said the Port Harcourt Refinery, which was
refining crude some weeks ago had stopped working,
and had since been shut down.
Meanwhile the Warri and Kaduna refineries still remain
shut.
Lamenting the state of the refineries, he said, “I was
initially happy with the progress made at the Port
Harcourt Refinery when it operated at 60 per cent
capacity some weeks ago. But now, the capacity has
dropped so low that we had to shut it down. We will need
about $500m to fix them.”
He admitted that importation of petroleum products was
not the solution to Nigeria’s problem, stressing that
attention should be shifted from Nigerians wanting to get
allocations for product importation to seeking ways to
adding value to the system.
He said the NNPC had not dropped the idea of
conducting forensic audit on its account books.
According to Kachikwu, the NNPC is currently talking
with states to see how they can contribute towards
driving the modular refining model.

Barely two weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari flagged off the construction of the 260km superhighway in Cross River, German quality control experts have arrived the state to ensure strict compliance to international best practice. Speaking to newsmen in Calabar, shortly on arrival, some of the expatriates, Engineer Frank Neobaver and Mr. Gauther Honisch said they were eager to kick start the projects which they described as very iconic in Africa by ensuring quality and timely delivery. They promised to bring their over ten years of professional expertise in bridge and road constructions round the world to bear and deliver a project that will not only meet international standard but speak for itself. “We are setting up a state of the art quality control laboratory in Cross River to enable us carryout first hand test of all materials for all the signature projects and we are hopeful that this will serve as a boost to our job in the state,” Mr. Honisch added. Chairman, Cross River State Infrastructure Company Ltd, (INFRACROSS), High Chief Lihwu Eugene Akeh, pointed out that there was need to bring quality control engineers on site because the state needs endorsement of their signatures to be sure of quality of roads to be delivered. He stressed that with the engagement of the expatriates, the state will now deliver on road of its dream, constructed in compliance with global standards to stand the test of time. Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor, Technical, Mr. Eric Akpo, who reiterated that work on the superhighway is currently ongoing, maintained that the Governor wants to ensure that all his projects are delivered according to international standards without compromise at any point, no matter how challenging the terrain will be. He added that Governor Ben Ayade is passionate about the 260km superhighway which is designed with ultramodern road furniture. He assured that the project will be delivered as a true signature project in sub-Saharan Africa and will enhance socio-economic development in the region. crossriverwatch.com/2015/11/cross-river-superhighway-receives-boost-as-german-quality-control-experts-arrive-site/ |

ABUJA – Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr. Goodwin Emefiele has restated that the CBN will not devalue the Naira anytime soon to revive the falling economy. He said that the Bank has had to depreciate the currency from N155 to N197 in February, recalling that even President Mohammdu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had also re-echoed the position of the CBN. Emefiele however stated that the CBN would soon launch a policy called PAVE meaning “Produce locally, add value and export your product and earn your foreign exchange for your imports” to help local industries. He spoke to State House Correspondents after a meeting on the economy with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa on Friday. He said: “There has been a lot of talk on whether or not we want to depreciate our currency again. The truth is that we had adjusted the currency by depreciating it from N155 to N197 in February this year. There is no intention to depreciate or adjust the currency any longer. “The President has been very clear on this. The Vice President has been very clear on this and let me further reiterate our position at the Central Bank of Nigeria that we are not considering any further depreciation of the currency. “What we are trying to concentrate on right now is how to improve and deepen the foreign exchange market by improving supply of foreign exchange into the market. And to do so, we are trying to encourage people to export and earn your export proceeds and use your export proceeds to import whatever you need to import. We are also concentrating on how to reduce the import of items that we can produce in the country today. “So that is our focus. I’m saying and very soon the CBN will be launching a campaign called PAVE, which means “Produce locally, add value and export your product and earn your foreign exchange for your imports’’ because this is the only way we can support the efforts of CBN in intervening and providing foreign exchange in the market to meet the import needs of our people. “It is very clear, what we need to do is reduce our propensity to import but we will not depreciate our currency. For now we will not.” The governor also revealed that the CBN was working a list to exclude a number of items from foreign exchange market. “First of all, the CBN does not have the power to ban the import of any item. What we have done is to exclude certain items that are imported into the country from obtaining foreign exchange from the Nigerian foreign exchange market. “Yes, it is also true we held a stakeholders’ meeting with the organized private sector and prominent and leading private sector stakeholder were at that meeting. “It was not meant for the press. The purpose of that meeting was to engage the private sector to make the private sector understand that government realizes that they are engine of growth and we also used the opportunity to explain to them the basis and purpose of those policies that we have introduced and at the end of that meeting they were very happy, they saw our position and indeed at the end of that meeting some of them in fact provided us with the names of some items that should be included in the list that should be excluded from foreign exchange. “And I must confess that at this stage given the determination of some of the organized sectors to say that yes, they produce these items and that we should exclude those items from foreign exchange. We are reviewing that list and we may in due course include more items products that can be produced in Nigeria in the list of items that will be excluded from foreign exchange in the Nigerian foreign exchange market”, he said. Meanwhile he Naira on Friday depreciated further at the parallel market amidst intense regulation of the activities of operators of the Bureau de Change (BDCs) by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The currency lost N0.5 to the dollar as it exchanged for N226.5, as against its previous value of N226. The official exchange rate at the interbank window remained at N197 to the dollar. Traders at the parallel market attributed the recent depreciation of the naira to the apex banks further tightening of the conditions of operation of the BDCs, making more people to access forex at the parallel market. They said that the CBN now required operators of the BDCs to show the name of the person/company buying forex, his Bank Verification Number (BVN) and his ticket, if he was travelling. ) http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/10/cbn-refuses-to-devalue-naira-plans-pave/ |
