IfyAngela: Perboil your indomie then seive it, heatup veg oil in your frying pan add onions, lil tomatoes and pepper(neatly sliced), add lil curry(optional), let it fry and add the indomie.

P.s : don't add all the indomie spice if you are going to use curry. Enjoy
. You're the best, that's the code, it tastes great. I prepare mine the same way.... smiley

Romance / Re: Why Are Most Ladies Desperate To Wed These Days? by ibhena(m): 12:21pm On Sep 29, 2012
Mynd_44: I dont think all women are desperate. Some dont care

Yeah, I never said ALL, I said MOST. And the ones not desperate are very very rare, I doubt if they are up to 5%. And Please you should know that this does not include the very young ones who do not know watsup about life, they are in the exploratory stage (18-21 sometimes upto 22 years) all they want is a GOOD TIME! Once they leave that bracket, their eyes begin to clear....

carefreewannabe: I am not wink Not at all! Thank you grandmama! smiley

The ratio of men to women is not an argument. There are more women because men die earlier. That means that there are also many widows who will not re-marry due to age. This reduces the ratio. And some other facts reduce the ratio, too. BTW, it is difficult to determine the ratio exactly because some numbers are estimated!!!

Moreover, if it is only for the sake of children and therefore due to the biological clock ticking, it would still be enough to marry at the age of 30 -35 and even later. If you have the means, modern medicine can do a lot of things for you like reducing the risk of a late pregnancy. I know of quite a number of women giving birth to children in their 40s. And as the life expactancy rises, it is only logical to postpone marriage and children.

And any sensible human being will not give birth to children in an unhealthy relationship.
Anyway, I am not desperate to get married and no society will force me to do so. If it happens with the grace of God, fine. If it doesn'T, my happiness doesn't depend on a husband. I'd love to be a wife and a mother. But I will not take every hardship to become a wife and a mother and raise my children in an unhealthy environment and feel disgusted by my husband who I married because of pressure I decided to put upon me.

If I can't be a mother and wife, then it's a pity, indeed but I will definitely find other ways to make my life meaningful and to make a difference in this world. Even if only a slight one.

All I want to say is, girls be strong and be sensible. Like my grandmammy said: better be happy alone than in an unhappy marriage.

I like your take on this. But you will agree with me that your type are few. I have even heard of ladies pay for marriage prayers, ranging between 10k to 50k some even upto 100k depending on how fast (or rather how desperate you are) and so many fake "MOGs" are making good business...

Please I find this very disturbing that many ladies are desperate to get hooked for-better-for-worse... Ask them why, and you'll be shocked at the reasons. "I want to make my mother happy" "My friends are getting hooked" AND THEN YOU ASK TO WHOM, they say "any man..." What is happening please?
Nairaland / General / where Do You Get Reliable Information from: Social Media, Radio Or Tv? by ibhena(m): 11:56pm On Aug 04, 2012
Sources of information today is as numerous as the number of human beings on earth. But seriously, as a young person, where do you get reliable information from?
Personally, I recently discovered somehow unconsciously, I don't listen to the news on the various FM radio stations and the Tv, like I used to before. I didn't include the print media because before they get them in print, I have probably read it online.
What are your own views and experiences, what is your best source for reliable info

Wislet: A man who:

1. No lady can take for granted (can't use food to deal with- assuming he could cook too).

2. Is caring (assuming the wife was indisposed).

3. Is dependable.

4. Is economical (assuming he was a bachelor). Not wasting his money on fast foods.

So on point! 10/10
Car Talk / Re: Your First Driving Lessons by ibhena(m): 10:56am On Aug 03, 2012
I must confess, I'm one of those lucky few people that got away with nutty attitude. From childhood I observed both my parents while they drive (I have a history of exploration cos of my curious nature.) One day, my dad's friend left his car @ our house and travelled with my dad in his car (2001). Imagine, I was given the key to go and keep and was alone in the house. Mehn, I was so happy. Immediately they left, I jumped in and began applying what I observed from my parents. I started the car, went round our big compound several times, being careful not to drive into flowers. I was so happy! That was my very first day, and I did it alone. Then I took rake to clear the tyre traces in the house *hilarious*
After that,on another day Mumcy wanted to park her car in the garage I said she should let me park it (ah, do u even know how to drive, who taught you?) She asked. I said my friend taught me (lie), just give me and see. She reluctantly gave me to challenge me, guys, I drove it into the garage perfectly. That was it. From that day, I ran errands... Thankfully, I never had accident, 2001 till today! Thank God.

Nairaland / General / Nigerian Graduates; Are You Just Another Half-baked Or You Earned Your Results? by ibhena(m): 11:45pm On Jul 29, 2012
Nigerian graduates have suffered series of attack from various quarters, ironically, even from people who were major shareholders in the systemic academic rape. Some of them say "Nigerian graduates are half-baked", others say "they (we) cannot construct simple sentences in English."
But has anyone ever asked why, a good number of Nigerians studying abroad either at first degree or post graduate levels come out tops, if not best in their chosen fields? Common sense should tell anyone who cares to listen that something is terribly wrong with our colonial educational system, which serves left-over academic meals and recipes some of which have long been outdated and replaced with tasty modern ones (most of which will, sadly, still not get here until they are phased out again).
Although the system is bad, we cannot totally ascribe the abysmal level of graduate quality to the system alone. The half-baked phenomenon may, however, not be completely false even as it cannot be absolute. If you're smart, you are smart. If you are brilliant, you're brilliant! So, can you defend your certificates, or you're just another half-baked graduate Personally, I earned every bit of mark, GP and by extension the class of degree I graduated with. I was never a recipient of donated marks!
Sincere posts please!

Romance / Re: Issues With Dating Ladies In Early Twenties... by ibhena(m): 11:48pm On Jul 26, 2012
acidtalk: *coughs and then sip a glass of water*

18months to settle down you say?
Now let's set your priorities straight and that of the lady in question.

The average Nigerian familt wants their daughter to get married after her first degree. The only two exceptions in this case are; The lady gets pregnant and her people are ashamed of her giving birth to the baby in their home or she is from an almost below average home (poor family background) as such they want her to go so that they can feed (minus one mouth) less mouth.

Secondaly most girls in this age bracket are not in anyway desperate to get married. They still see themselves as beauty queens because they sometimes get as much as 5-10 toasters everyday because of their youthful nature. This will make them assume they will remain 'hot cake' for ever and think there will always be that suitor waiting to get married to them whenever they are ready.

Except for few families which still nuture their female children, its almost common for most ladies within that age range to learn basic home chores in their boyfriend's place.

Though not in all cases, but if you are one who cares a lot about financial management and knowledge, most young ladies in that age bracket might not fit in. The want to get the latest phone, gadget, hand bag and fashion accessories to meet up with their peers. If you are not one of those guys that spend frivolously on a lady when it isn't relevant, she might term you stingy as won't consider settling down with you because she rarely knows what is the difference between necessity and wants.

Above all Intelligence, if you are a serous minded and fast thinker, it might be an hill task finding a lady that will match your intelligence. I am not talking of knowing latest music, movie or celebrity gist. I am talking of beneficial reasoning.

If you don't mind the above, then you can stick with them and groom them with patience. Otherwise maybe you should stick with the law of nature that "the older the wine, the better it taste".
Guy,spot-on! E be like say you get Phd in this department!

nikkyshyne: Na wa oo. Choii...shocked

@Spicy V, if you went thru the thread, u'd notice I mentioned "advice don't come for free" (on somebody requesting I give a list of jobs) in other words, that is "consultancy"

Smart people would pick that up and make a living with it.

My lips are sealed. Afterall, u guyz can't beat me, can you? cheesy

Hey, I like SMART people like you! Nigerians want free consulting! Knowledge, good and profitable knowledge comes at a cost! If you don't pay for it, you wouldn't value it!!! We in the consulting business understand that!

Religion / Re: Why Do You Attend The Church You Attend? by ibhena(m): 9:26pm On Jul 22, 2012
Privy: @ OP, People go to church for all sorts of different reasons like some of the ones you mentioned in your initial post. However, it would be wrong to assume that those are the reasons why the majority of Christians attend their current churches.

I can give you some reasons why some of the Christians go to church:
1. To worship alongside other Christians and learn more about God.
2. Good/positive social interaction.
3. Spiritual growth and strength.
4. A need for counselling on/solution to a certain physical/emotional/financial/spiritual challenge.
5. An opportunity to serve God by helping/teaching/influencing others.
6. Depth of teaching/preaching of the pastor/preachers in the church.
7. Music (how well the choir sings).
8. How efficiently organized the church is.
9. The positive impact of the church (or some of her members) on its (or their) community/neighbours.

All the reasons and many more unmentioned can affect the church one attends. If you've been to more than one church, then you would have observed that no two churches are the same when these factors I listed above are considered.

From a Christian perspective, I think it's improper to judge someone until you know, explicitly, why he attends a certain church, regardless of what your opinions about the church (or her members/pastor(s)) are.
I concur!
Education / Re: Federal University Dutse Has Air-Conditioned Classrooms by ibhena(m): 8:44pm On Jul 22, 2012
Mayor Ogwo: This is a welcome development in our tertiary educational system, but such gesture should be extended to all Federal and State Universities in Nigeria, so as not to rob Peter to pay Paul. Dutse is in the North, what happens to the same Universities that was granted licence with Federal University of Dutse, do they have such facilities? Or do their funding different from that of Dutse? However, it is a good start only if the management will be able to maintain it.
All new universities were given take-off grants. How they use it is left to them!
