owoagbara:Nah, there is no braking at that speed - nothing to do with whether his feet is on the ground or in the air. The moment he brakes is the moment Iniesta change direction and leave him standing still. If you approach face-on that speed, you are going in for the tackle, the block or the foul, nothing else. His only other option is to close down slower leaving himself time & room to react to Iniesta. Given Iniesta was already favourite for the ball, that may leave too much room for Iniesta to pass the ball unchallenged or have a free shot like this.

ugbede69:Freeze no dey fear because Freeze knows these pastors are charlatans. Shatta Wale actually believes they have some mystical powers thats why he keeps running around from dibia to dibia seeking protection and living in fear. Let one Man of Dog pronounce fake death prophecy on me, I go laugh like Freeze. |
Nihilist:Chelsea fans know whats scratching their nyash cos they watch every game 90 minutes unlike pundits!!! Imagine one eediot commentator on BT Sport yesterday saying Sergi Roberto is Barcas first choice right-back. Barca fan woulda punched him. |
owoagbara:Not at the speed he was going at. If he approached more gently, he could have faced up, but then he might be accused of giving Iniesta too much room to shoot. At the speed he was going, there is NO WAY he can brake and still deal with a change in direction from Iniesta, unless you want him to rupture his ACL. These 50:50 occasions of striker and defender running at speed in opposite direction hardly occur in football. They would usually be the result of a rebound of the post or goalkeeper, and most times the defender has to fling himself into the opposing striker. |
Christensen knows who sold him down the river
|
sebod:This narrative is false. Azpi had no option but to try to win that ball first time. His only mistake there is misjudging his slide. If a defender and a striker are running at each other at full speed from opposite directions, the defender must win the ball. One drop of the shoulder will take him out of the game otherwise. You cannot turn left-or-right when your leg muscles are fully engaged on braking your forward momentum. Therefore Azpi cannot "stay on his feet" after getting there at such speed. If he tries to brake his speed and stay on his feet, Iniesta already has momentum in the direction of the ball and will easily go left-or-right to take him out the game. That's why I said I would do exactly the same as Azpi. |
See as Fabregas lured the young man into making the pass. Fabregas is showing for the ball here. He is facing Chris, and has opened for the pass. Even when the ball is on his way to him, he swivels his head as midfielders do when receiving a pass to check for opposition contact and position of teammates. If Fabregas does not want this ball, he would face front and "hide from the ball" using his body language like Donkeyoko always does. Fabregas lured this young man into this pass, then failed to take any responsibility because it was not exactly to feet. You can even see Chris pointing to him after the goal goes in as if to say, come on, you asked for the pass then sold me down the river cos you refused to move your body just 3 yards. It will not be well with Fabregas for the way he hung this young man out to dry ![]() https://j.gifs.com/mQ0pwn.gif |
Nihilist:As a fan, I'm only interested in what will prevent such stuffs from recurring again. The only person in that mix who will repeat the same thing again is Fabregas, so he must go!! If Cahill had made that pass, I would be on his back knowing that he is liable to do that again. Fabregas time and again is a structural weakness in my team. The sloth must go!!! |
Nihilist:My friend, don't start any talks about my judgement on midfield play. Every year has been a school year for you on that matter. Gerrard said on BT Sport last night that Fabregas should have got to that ball. If Fabregas does not want that ball, he would not face Chris square on with arms akimbo, body language giving all the vibes that he is open to receive a pass. If Fabregas does not want that ball, he would face forward, and Chris would know he is not an option and boot the ball to safety. Any footballer knows that sign from his teammate. Fabregas was open and demanding for that pass, and flunked out because it did not land exactly on his feet and he is too lethargic to move 3 yards. We will not question Chris and Azpi because we know they are reliable. We will question the constant phuck-up merchant in our midst. On any another day, Chris pass will be exactly to feet. On any other day, Azpi could get to that ball first. On any other day, Fabregas will still be a sloth and still fail to get to that ball. Spot the difference. If you are not a goat, we will not scapegoat you. The sloth must go!!!! |
Thecassanova:Pedro did well tactically yesterday, forget story. His constant pressing was very much needed. I doubt we could have kept good shape with Morata like we did. And Giroud is too phucking slow to press at the speed that was required to keep shape. No one should mention Giroud here. He is not built for games where you need strikers to press the ball. |
Nihilist:How many newspapers pointed out Fabregas escort service for KDBs goal against Chelsea. We the fans know our constant weak link. We have no structural problem with Chris, we have no structural problem with Azpi. We only have problem with the leech who would not get the message to phuck out of our club over the last 2 years because his lebanese wife and 4 kids love London so he hangs around like a bad smell phucking up our midfield. The sloth must go!!!! |
There is nothing unusual with passing the ball across your 18. Modern defenders do it all the time. You can see the sloth Fabregas open for the ball and looking at Chris. All his body language here says to Chris gimme the ball. There ain't really a fücking thing wrong with this pass Chris plays, only very slightly away from Fabregas body which he has enough time to react to. The moment a ball is played, you have few milliseconds to adjust your body to get to the pass. The sloth could not move himself. https://j.gifs.com/mQ0pwn.gif |
Thunder fire Fabregas. Get the fück out of Chelsea, you sloth. Good morning. |
ChangeIsCostant:Desperate blogger. You are a liar and plagiariser. You plagiarised this story from the below: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-5330933/Real-lives-fell-love-homeless-man.html If someone had told me 12 years ago that I was going to end up marrying a homeless alcoholic, I would have presumed they were mad. But that’s what happened. I was 30 years old, happily single, with a successful career as a writer, when I fell in love with a man who lived in a bush. A man with no income. Or career prospects. Or shoes. One Sunday evening, I was sitting on a bench on Leidseplein, a busy square in the city centre, waiting for a friend, when a man sat down next to me. ‘Do you have the time?’ he asked. We started chatting and, to my surprise, he made me laugh several times. I couldn’t help but notice that, despite his appearance, he was handsome, tall and had the biggest brown eyes I had ever seen. Ten minutes later my friend arrived. ‘I have to go,’ I said, a bit reluctantly. Before I could say anything further he stood up, pointed to the bench and said, ‘Saturday, three o’clock, same bench.’ Then he walked away. |
Skimpletyger have you started incantations for the 2nd leg already?
|
Nihilist:What do you mean roll away from goal? You mean let the ball roll across him? The safest place for a ball is at your feet, not rolling across outside your 18. |
Nihilist:Because Azpi did exactly what I would have done. Azpi is moving his body, Fab is on his heels. That sloth has to go! |
Nihilist:Nothing like he did what he thought was clever. That sloth could not move his body. Messi is 10 yards away He can boot that ball away. IMO some midfielders can even trap that ball. That's why Conte hooked him off straight after. Conte will be regretting not making that move 5 minutes earlier. The only mitigation you can have for Fabregas was that he looked away for a millisecond while the ball was coming toward him. That millisecond cost him. |
Nihilist:No doubt Christensen should not be taking that risk but I assure you any other midfielder gobbles that ball up. That sloth did not even move his body one yard toward a ball that passed 3 yards in front of him from 15 yards away. There is a kind of pass I would play to you within 3 yards of your body, everyone would say its a decent pass, but if I play the same pass to Yokozuna that cannot move his body, it would turn into a mishit. |
Chelseafan1:Pedro actually did a lot of good pressing that helped Willian and Hazard. God punish Fabregas. |
Nihilist:This is criminal. I coulda got to that ball. That ball past within 3 yards of him from 15 yards away. |
nateevs:Am I the only one who thinks Fab should get to that ball? He even saw that ball from 15 yards away and know he needed to move to get there. There is a way a lazy nigga would be on his heels, he will make a reachable ball turn into a calamity. |
Great game guys, well done. |
Cruxifizio:Sincerely 9 out of 10 players would have got to that ball. I did not see the pass but when I saw it coming across Fabregas I said that's an easy take for the Chelsea player. |
Fabregas should have got that pass. He was on his heels. |
Smart boy Willy giving everyone a rest |
I LOVE WILLY WILLY FBS, Can I borrow him from you? |
Pedro for Morata and Fabregas for Drinkbleach should be the next moves around 70 minutes. |
Nice first half. Belief is growing. |
Kante na real warrior |
We're making all the chances so far |
I love WillyWilly |
