On this topic, In recent memory I’ve been in both positions: as the biller and also as the one getting billed.

London Police generally don't allocate investigation time to non violent crimes. I learned this when my bike was stolen many years ago. They just said they don't have time to be requesting and checking CCTV upandan. They will just tell you you are OYO unless you were physically harmed in the process of the robbery.
