The Crypto market can be volatile and these Crypto exchange companies Hold your assets for a fee when you withdraw you pay a fee when you trade you pay a fee. people do not keep their money there so FTX can gamble with it.

when Crypto crashes, the value of your assets drops... this way, the Crypto exchange company can always pay their customers.

Ibime, there is other way to put it... this is theft.

Also, they pause not because they cannot pay, they pause so that they can keep your cash while the Value continues to plummet in the guise of preventing the value of the assets to drop.

There is difference between Fiat and Crypto, and there is no legal requirement from Govt for them to hold 100% of either.

Secondly, there is little legal framework for Crypto. SBF executed a flywheel scheme which while being unethical may not be covered by laws as little or no laws have been passed for Crypto. Scheme illustrated below. To actually nab SBF, they will need more than flywheel scheme and need to establish whether he has transferred creditors assets to himself, which I'm sure they will be eager to do. The FBI has put in an extradition request to Bahamas for questioning. Note that questioning is different from charging. USA does not play with financial markets fraud regardless of who the offender is. Their whole financial system depends on it.

Similar scheme was executed by Do Kwon with Luna in Singapore which collapsed in March or so, and till date, Do Kwon has not been charged by Singapore authorities because there is little legal framework to do so.

So everything you typed only lets me know what your information sources and social media algorithms are leading you to, which is why I say you are on the borderline. A simple counterargument to the fallacy you typed is that FTX co CEO is equally a major Republican donor and has not been charged either.
