Bombblacks: He was born, raised and have lived almost his entire life in the States. Why should he represent another country he has no connection with just because his father is the president? He has no connection with a country where his father is President? His father should kindly step off the stool if he cannot engender patriotism in his own family. Such leaders will find it easy to steal money cos "we are not all in this together". Rishi Sunak lost the vote amongst Conservative party membership to succeed Boris Johnson, main reason is his wife is domiciled in India for tax purposes and he has USA green card. They reckoned someone without family loyalty to the country is not rowing the same boat together |

FBS: @Ibime I'm quite surprised you are banking on Sterling to be the star boy? It's partly bants but I want him to shock some people writing him off just because he's playing wingback He's one of England's main attacking outlets, a team that can go far, Kane plays to his strength, and he did well last international tournament |

Kilishihunter: Sure they have a young group of talented players. It's like they teach many of them how to press massively for those who start out in the MLS though that Mckennie too get agression for body, My fear for them though is their defense and GK Turner, If you remember the USA at past mundials you'll see they usually get good stoppers e.g. Howard, Friedel, Even the bench options no be am, Thought belharter will take slonina along Na their centrebacks be the main weak point. I no too know their keeper situation |

Kilishihunter: Well tbf to them they usually put in a good outing at recent world cups even if they are eliminated at the first round, Them really show Belgium pepper in 2014 though Tim Howard worked overtime that night But Wales too has been somewhat passive, it's like they came to Qatar to come and play defensive games Check USA player for player, they are good abeg Gio Reyna and Brendan Aaronson aren't even playing Their midfield three are energetic, fast and comfy on ball to a decent level - that's Leeds, Valencia and Juve in midfield |

There is always one otu letting down African teams when everything is going well
Mendy fully at fault for the second goal, the first goal I'd say 50% culpable, but the second was unforgivable
Koulibaly was also useless on that second goal, looking like he's about to pop a hamstring against Depay |

Bombblacks: Changes cannot come from the Qataris alone. Religion gives no one the right discriminates against another person. I see no reason why anyone here should be angry that the western media is using the world cup coverage to call out Qatar discriminative laws against people. You don't need be an activist to believe each and every one should be treated the same way and enjoys the same benefits every human should be given. 90% of the people wey no want talk, is not because they believe gays deserve such treatment. Infact some players are talking against Qatar, not because they want to, but because the pressure they could face from the LGBT community back home can ruin them. It's a powerful lobby Every man has a right and responsibility to self protection, and protection for his family before anything else. Same reason there are tens of thousands of Christians and expats in Saudi who don't practice their religion openly. Self protection is a man's choice. Respect the activists, and also respect those who want a quiet life |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 11:23am On Nov 21, 2022 |
Bombblacks: And you are ok with them being discriminated against and arrested? You have a problem with the western media fighting for a discriminated group of people in Qatar? Change and pressure should come from Qataris themselves, footballers are just going to represent their country for few days These footballers are trapped between offending their hosts and offending the LGBT community if they say anything. It's literally a no-win situation. The journalists should not set traps for them and force them into activism. There are many practices we abhor in our home villages, it does not mean we go causing kwatar (pun intended) everytime we travel home. Only few men in this world are activists. Most men just want a peaceful life, go home to their families and retire without drama. Let the activists activate, and let those who want no drama go about their business. If Aramco call you up to Saudi to work for them, you go carry placard go protest on the first day of your job? There's a prayer that says "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference" |

Wise move
This World Cup na to hide your head if you be player. Any press conference you attend, wicked journalists will put you in soup with questions about LGBT and workers rights |
