benalvino3: it's easy to get a similar range. you can even buy a Tesla battery separately and build your own car or use it as a power bank for solar. their technology can easily be stolen. they have pioneered battery tech and there is a new battery tech coming out soon. that will be next year. people at Uni can make an electric car that can beat the range of tesla. but can you have both range and Performance? Tesla's cars are beating Lamboginis and Bugatties in the performance drag races. and with somewhere updates, you can still milk more performance out of the Cars.
its the other way around. others are buying Tesla cars and tearing it apart. I believe electric car will beat Lamborghini and co simply because they don't wait for fuel injection and combustion to accelerate. My cousin Nissan Leaf picks up speed at the click of a finger so there is no gainsaying that an electric can beat a high performance car in a short race, or be developed to do so over a longer race. I finally entered Tesla Model Y this summer and my guy showed me all the technology. So far as self driving is not on board, I don't see anything other car companies will not match quickly, if not already. I'm yet to enter any EV other than 2013 Nissan Leaf to confirm but I doubt others will be lagging behind, besides a lot of those differentials are optional extras that the average man wont pay for. If memory serves, he said he didn't pay for the summons option where you summon your car to come to you, neither would I. I take your point on battery performance though, but I don't think Tesla has two heads anymore that Panasonic can match Energiser on longevity of AA batteries if they really mean it, and want to sell at Energizer price point. All Hydrogen needs to do is prove they can produce Hydrogen at lower carbon footprint than Electricity per KWH and develop fuel stations. Don't underrate Oyibos capacity to buy whatever is the greenest. From the way I'm seeing EVs proliferating on the street this year, I doubt any Oyinbo man will buy diesel in 4 years time for a new car. And if Hydrogen proves greener than EV, the same phenomenon will occur. Car financing makes it easy for Westerners to switch technology and type of car every 3 or 4 years |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by Ibime(m): 9:35pm On Sep 24, 2022 |
benalvino3: how many years did it take them to match or exceed their range?
also, Tesla Cars are performance cars while the competition is not. To make a performance car, their electric motor has to trade take a hit on efficiency and yet Tesla is at a sweet spot where Performance and range are good.
The range is not all that matters. if you know how Batteries work and how they deplete you will not be saying this. it is like a marathon race. you cannot go too fast to conserve energy. that way you can go a lot more miles at the cost of time compared to someone who sprints.
Hydrogen cars are dead. With EV there is no point. it is almost as green as Gasoline cars. it takes too much energy to make hydrogen. it cost more than 5times to even make a filling station compared to gasoline and compared to EV charging stations, it cost more than 10times All these sound like the same Tesla marketing spiel that told me it would take forever for other car companies to produce EVs but here I am just two years later. 1 in every 2 2022 plate car I'm seeing now is an EV, even Skoda and Vauxhall get am. I no believe say Tesla get two head, all na marketing, just like I couldn't believe any company will have better phone UI than Blackberry in 2008, only for Android to flood the market at cheap price and better UI. Hydrogen would come down with advancement in technology and mass production, or at the very least Hydrogen would become part of the energy mix that produces electricity for us to charge our EVs. Everything is expensive when it first comes out, market forces will bring it down. No need paying for novelty. Just like when Curve TVs came out and niggas were rushing to buy it at £2k, I knew I would buy it for £400 within a couple of years. Even OLED TV will some guys bought at £10k is coming under £1k now and will drop further. |

benalvino3: if you know anything about tesla cars, you won't be saying the nonsense you are saying.
Except Hydrogen is a total failure and before EVs hydrogen was said to be the future. Bush admin even put 1.5 billion for R& D but it failed miserably.
Nobody talks about it anymore despite hydrogen cars being on the market since 1968. Yes, there were hydrogen cars on the road back then
to buy cars are expensive. I think only 2 to 3 companies make them. toyota, Hyundai, and I can't remember the last. have you tried buying hydrogen? it will cost at least $100 to fill a tank.
when it comes to how Green it is, it's not that better compared to gasoline.
rather than hydrogen, EVs makes more sense. I stand to be corrected. Unlike you, I don't argue what I don't know, I can only speak for what matters to me. I am not interested in any technology in EV except how many miles it can do on a full charge and as far as other car companies like Mercedes are even beating Tesla for range, that's all that matters to me, not some AI "technology" or story, but practicality on how many miles the car can do. My colleague told me two years ago that other car companies don't have the factory setup to build EV cars, nor the brain to compress so much energy into a battery as Tesla, today I am seeing EV everywhere, some with similar or higher range. Price of Hydrogen like everything else, I believe will fall with mass consumption and technological progress. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by Ibime(m): 8:04pm On Sep 24, 2022 |
The first people to.order that Toyota Mirai and break it apart will be the other car companies
That's how Tesla fooled us that their EV technology is too far advanced for other companies to catch up until all companies released an EV with similar range last year
Hydrogen looks much more promising than EV. I would keep riding my diesel until Hydrogen market is developed with fuel stations everywhere |

Elimon: Ther is something I noticed... Really funny but it's Avery terrible reality of the Media
When Ukrainian war started... Ukrainian Army stopped men (conscripts and azov Nazis included) from leaving the country, forced most of them to volunteer even when they didn't want to fight. We all read about it. But the Narrative was different. BBC called then 'heroes and saviours' now most of them are dead because they were rag tag and unprepared and most death went unreported, because MMS always want to keep a clean propaganda narrative
FAST forward to yesterday... Russia is recruiting its citizens also. Boom! MMS moved to say all kinds of bvllshvt, Calling them weak, rag tag, oppression regime, etc. But that's the same thing Zelensky and Nato did in Ukraine in February, forcing people to fight a war they didn't cause. They went on, Spreading lies about mass border movement to Hungary! And other things
The thing is... MMS is working for the West, Twitter, fb, Instagram, ect. If ur neutral is this event, avoid MMS and their social Media uploads... It's all bunch of lies and face-down stories. If you were not a naive fool you will know that every country has automatic mobilisation when the country is attacked or invaded, however mobilisation for invasion of a different country is highly unusual, an admission of failure and a despot putting his citizens lives at risk for his own ego |

Volga, Crimea and a few modern day Russia land were conqueried from Ottomans. We are talking about passing through Bosphorous strait in middle of Istanbul, you are talking about Volga, Crimea and such For your information, during the Colonial period, Russia had LOST the Crimea War to the Ottomans (supported by Britain and France) in the 1850s and were in handcuffs in the Black Sea till the 20th century. hammerT: OTTOMAN NEVER BARRED RUSSIA, STOP TALKING NONSENSE.
RUSSIA HAD ACCESS TO SEA AND COULD HAVE SAILED TO AFRICA, LIKE THE WESTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES.
RUSSIA DESTROYED THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE AFTER THE LATTER TRIED TO INVADE AND CONQUER THEM.
IT WAS STILL THE SAME RUSSIA THAT DESTROYED NAZI GERMANY FATER THE LATTER TRIED TO INVADE THEM Russia never defeated the Ottoman empire decisively to pass through the Bosphorous strait into the Mediterranean and onto Africa. They have been fighting for 400 years until World War 1 and Russia never had freedom or control of Istanbul where ships must pass. By the time Russia started entering the Mediterranean was well into the 20th century after all the colonisation of Africa was said and done. Russia was never a seafaring nation as Turkey blockade ensured they have to go over the top to get access to the new world, and that sea is a long and uneconomical journey, twice as long, and frozen half of the year. I have said enough.
