We talking about kids and the example you want to put forward for kids as your main actor. There are many pressures that will die him that are not that obvious, from studio execs to commercial partners that put their products in films, to media reviews and hype to film critics. Na men! They have openly acknowledged and supported assault right there by accommodating Will after that incident. He should have been walked out from the academy, this was no prank or joke. Chris is well within his rights to file charges against Will. What do you think would have happened if Chris Rock retaliated after the hit? It would have been a free for all. The right thing should have been done to send a message about that sort of irrational behavior. Will is an accomplished actor, I don't think he will be canceled but there has to be a penalty for such behavior.

I am more disappointed with the Academy! How did they allow him sit through the awards? he even walked up the stage to collect his award after the incident. He should have been kicked out of the awards immediately after that incident. That action is considered assault and Chris Rock is well within his rights to file charges against Will. Will is quite emotional/ insecure and it did not shock me because he has been on a spiral over the last year.

As it ended is good. We don't need more drama. As things stand, this is a stuff for jokes and memes that everyone can laugh at. Had they sent Will out, the public conversation would take a darker tone, and probably end Wills career. No need using sledgehammer to kill mosquito.
