If Taraba can provide similar earning potentials then yes its better. You cannot be in Ajegunle face me I face you where 30people queue to use the same bathroom everyday and be bragging about private jets belonging to Dangote and Otedola in Banana Island and laughing at someone in Taraba with a car and a house
Yet Texas or Alabama does not provide similar earning potential as California as shown by the median household income.

The only things more expensive in California are Property related costs. Your local Walmart is still selling everything the same price in both Cities. Any extra you spend on your house in California is just seen as growing your wealth (assets) in comparison to Texas.

A nigga with a house in Surulere will sell that house and go buy mansion in GRA in Taraba when he is ready. Who's laughing now?

Your argument is not recognised in any economic circles. It can be summarised by Etienne T Boy song - "I don taya, I don taya, I dey go back to my village"

While the value of the asset matter what you are able to do with the asset matters more. In NewYork, You will have a $2M mortgage but no yard for your kids to play, Downstairs people are selling meth, rats are running round your kitchen to share bathrooms with another family,

I have been in some condos in NYC where I cannot stand up straight because they were old buildings from the 1920s and the ceiling is about 6ft tall, renovated multiple times. I have been in flats where the kids cannot jump, heck some places if you are fvccking, your next door neighbor can hear

A regular person cares more about what value they get out of their asset. What is the value of the 2M dollar house to you when you cannot even take a shitt and spread legs while reading newspaper
It does not matter. That's what matters to you. To a young person, that may be more enjoyable than living on a ranch in Idaho. No economist would rank you more prosperous for living on the ranch in Idaho. Assets are transferrable and have fixed value.

It seems like the criteria to become a democrat nowadays is to separate your brain from the body.

I'm mesmerized by their egregious behavior. Is there any sane liberal left?
Separating your brain from your body is claiming only 43k votes separated Trump from Biden, then come back to say you were referring to Electoral College votes (and still be wrong)

Is this 2M flat readily available/gettable to people on your level? Or just pipe dreaming. What use is it to Ibime ramdeuter and their friends who cannot within a reasonable income of the general populace be dreaming of and bragging about what is available to Trumps, Abramovic and Prince of Saudi

Its almost like saying there are more private gulfstream jets in Manhattan vs in Atlanta Georgia when a regular income American whether in ATL or NYC cannot afford it
The Median Household income solves all that.

I could afford a house in London but it won't be in the prime area where my kids would go to great schools and have enough living and garden space. It does not matter. Whoever lives there is still economically equal to me.

None of these are economic arguments.

We are back to "Village life is cheaper than City life" or "N200k in Umudike is better than $100k in Yankee" argument. It is a subjective argument, not an economic one.

To a young person, living in a flat in the City may be more enjoyable than living in a mansion in the village. Subjectivity goes both ways, what matters is the value of the asset.

There are standards everywhere in the world its homelessness ability to feed yourself and your family, clothes.

If you are able to get a house for 200 Naira, you are better than someone who cannot get a house with 20,000 and has to sleep on the street

Its where you will see people who are living in projects all their lives, where they shitt inside elevator. Yet think they are living better than those who own their own homes, can feed themselves. All those Private jets, Ferraris, Yatch have nothing to do with the common man on the street. Any middle class bragging about these when he is barely existing is a foool
When you say homelessness in the Western context, what you really mean is beggers/drug addicts because Western society provides accomodation for the homeless (like the projects you mentioned up there)

In the UK, drug addicts from Arbroath in Scotland get the train to go live homeless on the Streets of London because London traffic is wealthy enough to feed their addiction. Same reason Houston will have more homeless than a random village in Texas. It's a symptom of success

In the UK where you live, High end London is for the ultra rich who are Arab Princes, African Politicians, and Billionaires from Europe like Abramovic, the regular UK folks living in London are probably suffering which is why a middle class UK man will rather move to Manchester and Birmingham
Quality of life or quality of accommodation is a subjective view, not an economic argument. Even the Mayor of Manchester will slap you if you claim his people are doing economically better than Londoners.

I am here just South of Manchester in a detached house with a garden my kids and their friends can play football in does not make me more economically empowered than a guy in a £2m flat in London without a garden.

His flat still has more economic value than my house if he decides to take it to any market in the world. And the minute he decides to move to Manchester and sell his asset in London, he will be next door neighbours with footballers in a mansion. He is economically doing better than me, whichever way you argue it

You are the one getting it wrong following all these metrics New York California like London are global centers where billionaires from all over the world come to live and invest their money. What happens between the Sheikhs, Trumps, Bloombergs, Bezos, Gates etc have little effect on the lifestyle of regular people on the street. What an average person cares about is to feed his family, and buy things he needs
Stop right there. That's where Median Household income comes in

Bring those stats before you go any further.

These are standard economic indices used to measure these things. First thing any economist will look for. You are arguing with someone who minored in Economics, I didn't just pluck those indices from my ãrse.

I'm sure you know the difference between Median and mean which factors in for all your talk about billionaires

Homelessness is neither here nor there. People on drugs don't go to pig farms in Mississippi to beg for money, they go to New York where there is enough passing wealthy traffic to drop coins in their cup to feed their habit. They may even be from Mississippi but travel to New York where their market will move. Almajiri will not go to your village to beg, he will go to Lagos. It's a symptom of success.

Ibime, i worked in Charleston, West Virginia about 12 years ago for two months flying home to see my family every weekend and i couldn't believe the kind of poverty there. Been to several States in the Deep South and please don't get me started. My Brother lives in a beautiful city outside of Atlanta called Marietta and wifey and i are spending our Thanksgiving weekend there. There are parts of the South that's doung well but the ones that are bad are overwhelming Republican. Let me leave you with this, the poorer the State, the more Republican they become.
Raumdeuter has suckered Benalvino3 into believing GOP states are doing well. I've known Raumdeuter for 14 years on this forum. He is known to take one piece of anecdotal evidence and repeat it it till it becomes fact to uninformed observers. I don't blame him for being proud of his home state, but how Benalvino3 jumped out the window to claim Red States are performing better shows he shouldn't be allowed out of Port-Harcourt to discuss with cosmopolitan people. Any man and his dog knows that the Red States of the South are the most poverty-stricken in the country. If you even see a Red State doing well, it's because they found oil, not because they developed human capacity.

The primary reason why California businesses are leaving is economics, plain and simple. California is too expensive, too regulated, and too heavily taxed, both for companies and for the workers they hire.
Red States have been making this claim for the last 50 years and still getting flogged. Low taxes have always been a bedrock of Conservative policy, long before a neophyte like you started following politics.

How many people move from Jos to Rivers vs the reverse? Zamfara and Taraba will likely be the cheapest states, why are people not leaving Rivers to Taraba since the cost of living is cheaper there

So since North Dakota is outperforming Texas in GDP, why are people not moving there?

You can deceive yourself with numbers but human movement will always tell the truth, Human like every animal move from suffering to prosperity.
North Dakota population growth rate is neck and neck with Texas. Unlike Texas where half the population growth must be due to Hispanics crossing the border to stay with their aburos, those going to North Dakota must be purely economic

Texas overtook Brazil because of Investment, and when the investment comes the GPD grows. it is not because of GDP they overtook Brazil fool; it is because of investment. the same way China overtook the US. now will you say China is a better country than the US because of GDP? it is only you that can mumu like this.
Stop making noise and exposing your stüpidity.

Who told you California has not been growing it's economy at an equal rate to Texas? At the same time Texas was overtaking Brazil, California has been overtaking several countries.

Their GDP growth rate is similar, and you'll see the same for most American States. First picture is California, second picture is Texas. Both have tripled their economy in the last 25 years. I know you cannot look at graphs and easily assess information

So why are people not moving from Rivers to Taraba since Taraba is cheaper? Why are people not flocking to North Dakota since its cheaper?
I have a friend in Rivers who moved his family to Jos

North Dakota is Red State and richer than Texas per capita. That's internal GOP conversation. North Dakota corporate taxes are pretty low, not zero like Texas but still outperforming Texas per Capita. When Texas overtakes North Dakota in GDP per Capita, we can have this conversation.

By then Texas will be Blue if they continue giving free land and zero taxes to Progressives. Replacement theory grin grin

the Quote below is what makes a state better but the olodo I am talking to will climb mount Kilimanjaro and be shouting GDP
Stop making noise. The stats I gave you are what is used to judge which entities are doing better economically.

Anything else you are talking about is subjective, and no different to claiming a N200k per month life in Umudike is better than a $100k per annum life in the West.

You just confirmed with Tesla quote that it is normal for Businesses to seek cheaper land, pay lower wages and seek lower living costs for their employees. There is no way Lagos will be popping and Ogun won't benefit from some osmosis of people or companies who can no longer afford Lagos or are looking for cheaper costs.

Same reason people move from the City to the village, same reason companies move from London to Manchester, from Monaco to Nice, or Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, or failed Westerners move from UK to Umudike.

All that means is California has been highly successful to the point of becoming an International marketplace. When people compete for something, price goes up, whether land or property. A Californian will still be able to move to Texas or Alabama and live like a King there from the wealth he was able to accumulate in California. It is not up to California to lower their land and property prices by force like some communist regime. People are still rushing them. Even all your Nigerian unicorns are headquartered in California from Flutterwave et al.

It's a good thing anyway to bring more enlightenment and progressive people to Texas.

Next time you are arguing with educated people, bring the correct economic indices, simple.
