Arnautovic is 32. He has 2 years in him. That is enough time to maximise Havertz utility as a striker and give him space to grow into the role knowing you have a backup that can deliver for 2 years. In that same two years, someone like Lukaku will be turning 30.

It's the same as when we advised back in 2013 to let Lukaku grow rather than chasing Eto and then Costa. We lost out on maximising Lukakus utility for the next decade rather than chasing already made products that are already on the wane.

Chelsea often put money in depreciating assets rather than utilising their own assets first as squad players that could grow and add financial value.
