Properties / Landlords How Do You Handle This Kind Of Situation. by Ibime2003: 2:30pm On Mar 23, 2022 |
Landlords, please how do you handle this kind of situation: A tenant told you he is doing a type of job at the point of moving in, but you later suspected he is not doing the type of job he claimed to be doing after he moved in to the house. You are now being anxious that hope he is not into fraud or something criminal, because if he is bursted by the law operatives you might be arrested as an accomplice for providing accommodation to a criminal. There are even instances where law enforcement officers destroy the House while trying to arrest a criminal. So landlords how can someone take care of this kind of situation? |

rickpat: Move on might be easier for strangers, but for a family member, they can call, they even know where someone lives. And when you tell them, i am not loaded at the moment. You will start hearing so many things with that entitlement mentality vibe. How do one help and move on in such situation without making enemy out of it? |
Family / How Can I Help People Or Give To Them Without Them Abusing The Privilege. by Ibime2003: 9:50am On Mar 14, 2022 |
Three years ago, I once helped a friend based in Lagos, while i was at the Eastern part of the country. This friend ll come up with different suffering stories every month in order to obtain money from me, I am a selfless individual, i don't feel comfortable if i am okay and people in my vicinity ain't okay. This friend i was talking about, something happened and i later found out that, each time he is drawing his monthly budget, i am one of the income element in his monthly budget, i also found out his situation ain't as bad as he painted it to me. When i got to know about this, I cut ties with him immediately for taking me for a fool and for turning me to his meal ticket. I have helped some other people in the past too, once i helped them once, they ll turn it to a norm and keep on coming back asking me for more money and bringing responsibility to my door step. Once i realised this, I always avoid them. I once helped someone in my family, other people in the family got to know, the person i helped broadcasted my kind gesture. Na so this billing started from left, right and center from extended family, even those who don't have my phone number got it and started calling. I turned some of them down though, i am not the saviour of the world, i only do what God put in my mind to do. But what i observe is that if i help someone out of my own church mind, they will start thinking, be like say this one get money, let's fleece him. It baffles me how many Nigerians reason. Because of this awkward mentality of some beneficiaries of my philanthropic act, i have started the leju pa, daju, kala method, make them no drain me completely and drag me to their level. There is someone in my family i feel the urge to help for like 1 and half years now, but looking @ the consequence that might come afterwards, i couldn't help the person because of my previous experience. If i help the person, some other family member would know, i do my philanthropic act discreetly, but if the beneficiary tell just one person in the family , everywhere go burst. The other people in the family, if they find out, they ll start bringing their own responsibility for me to solve. If i couldn't take care of the responsibility, they will turn me to their enemy. Even the beneficiary himself might turn it to a norm like others before him, he might be thinking that, "if he can help me without soliciting for it, he ll always help me, he has money". He won't know where to draw the line. It is not that I am rich, but Nigerians would just assume or jump into conclusion. Let's assume I am even rich, must they drain the person that is assisting them with responsibility? Without putting into consideration that i myself have my own personal responsibility i am battling with. The thought to help others only come when i have excess. I think i am losing the humanitarian part of me because of people's abuse of it. How do i help people without them abusing the privilege? Please note, i am not rich, but i am just someone who wants to be living fine and others around him to be living fine too. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Religion / Tithe And First Fruit Payers, I Need Your Attention Here. by Ibime2003: 3:53pm On Feb 17, 2022 |
I made some substantial loses in my business in December last year, my Mum who has always advised me to be paying my Tithe and First fruit said the loss happened because i don't pay tithe. She said everybody pays tithe, either to God or the devil, she said those people that didn't pay to God will pay theirs to the devil indirectly through business loss, armed robbery, sickness, mysterious money loss, fire incidence, fulani herdsmen attack, they could get duped, they could lost a child or pet and so many other ways, through which money could vanish away. She said things would not be tight for all faithful tithe payers. SAPA, Buharinomics or Bad government policy can never affect any faithful tithe payer. Now my question is this to all Tithe and First fruit payers and faithfuls, is it true that since you have been faithful with paying your tithe and First fruit, you have never suffered any loss, nobody has ever duped you, the economy has never affected you negatively, you have never suffered any misfortune, you have never been robbed or kidnapped for ransome, you have never fallen sick, you have never lost property to fire or water disasters, you have never suffered from any terminal disease and you have never suffered any economic loss no matter how small it is. Please I want to hear from all tithe faithfuls, if you have never experienced even just one of the above since you started paying your tithe or first fruit. Like my mother that is advising me about tithe and first fruit , she has a terminal disease and she spends a minimum of N50,000 every month buying drugs, despite being faithful to her tithe and First fruit, why is she still suffering from a terminal illness? She suffering from terminal illness is against the principles of tithe paying, so this is really confusing to me. All tithe and First fruit offering faithfuls i want to hear from you. |
Properties / Who Should Take Responsibility Of House Repair In This Scenario? by Ibime2003: 3:14pm On Feb 17, 2022 |
Armed robbers robbed tenant in the house, they destroyed the windows and doors while trying to force their way into the tenants apartment. Who should bear responsibility for repairs after the robbery incidence in this scenario, the Landlord or the Tenant? Modified Before the robbery incidence took place, on two occasions the tenant was making call @ around 1am in the midnight when everywhere was silent, he was talking to another person on the phone with his very loud voice mentioning huge millions of naira on the phone. The tenant is one of those people that can't speak with low voice on the phone. He was mentioning huge millions on the phone, that people outside the compound and the environment were hearing his conversation on the phone. |

toobusy: The vegetables you are eating, do you know they are being hurt when they are cut on the farm, but you wouldn't know because you didn't hear them speak or make any sound. What of the fishes you are eating? You never see preying on them as injustice right? You didn't consider the trauma the fish has been through before it landed on your plate, did you? What of that chicken you relish eating it's lap? All the cows you have been eating their beef. Have you ever thought of the emotional turmoil they went through when they were being slaughtered before it ended up in your plate? I detest hypocrisy |

Properties / Re: My Experience With A Landlord In Ibadan by Ibime2003: 5:26pm On Dec 24, 2021 |
I once admitted a tenant in the house i was living in ilorin couple of years ago . Actually i didn't discuss the issue of generator work time with her, i assumed that a responsible adult suppose to off the Generator by 12am latest. Alas!!! I was wrong, This person came in and want to on the Generator till day break, i said no, it is not possible. The reason why it is not possible is that: the sound of generator working overnight is a security threat. Secondly, the noise will be affecting other co - tenants, neighbours living in other compound and myself living in the compound. Thirdly, the landlord association of the area is not in support of such practice. The difference between where a landlord lives and where a landlord doesn't live in this scenario is that, where a landlord doesn't reside, your co-tenant and neighbours living in other houses close by might not have the guts to come and face you to shut down your generator at a particular time of the day, it is not that they are afraid of you, but they will be thinking that if they confront you, you might think they are beefing you or they are a bad belle who is envious of you. Either they confront you or not, the fact remains that working your gen till day break, is an inconvenience to your co-tenants and neighbours, if they didn't talk, they are only enduring. But where the landlord lives, he won't send you, he might even take action against you, not because of himself but because of you being a source of inconvenience to other tenants and neighbours. The tenant and I reached an agreement over the issue, we agreed she should look for another apartment. She got another apartment and paid for it and i refunded her, her rent balance after deducting the one month she spent in the apartment. I paid her the refund on the day she packed and that's how we parted happily. What happened @ the time taught me a lesson and i always make sure i cross all Ts and dot all Is when getting new tenants. I don't like giving house to agents, agents make life unbearable to tenants by making them to pay more to secure house and most of them don't do any due diligence, they just get any tenant that is ready to pay. 1 Like |

maridrug: Update your CV, look for remote jobs on LinkedIn, angel dot co and crypto dot jobs if you are a blockchain/cryptocurrency expert. There are other foreign sites you can use, just search with Google you will see as much as possible. Getting the job might not be easy though, you can send 500 applications and get just 2 feedbacks, being a Nigerian might not help matter too as a result of all these yahoo boys that have tarnished our reputation online. But if you don't give up, you will surely get remote job. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Good day fellow Nairalanders, which country can i relocate to with my wife and two little kids. I am 36 years old of igbo extraction. I currently work remotely with two foreign organisation as an online customer service personnel earning 10 and 12usd/hour respectively, I am also a full time cryptocurrency trader and also involved in some cryptocurrency projects @ the moment. I use to have a mindset that instead of going to America for economic reasons, let that America come and meet me here in Nigeria and that's what i use to work towards through out my life. But with the anarchy and insecurity being experienced in Nigeria currently, i am seriously thinking about relocating to another country with my family. I love Nigeria and I never thought of relocating, but it's obvious Nigeria didn't love me in return. I have a little above 120k usd savings, if i dispose all my real estate investment in Nigeria,i ll be able to have more liquid cash @ my disposal. I intend to continue with all the job i stated above in any country i relocate to, I don't have any reason to be looking for job up and down and i don't have any plan of going to school, even the degree i have here in Nigeria, i never for once use it to apply for job. The financial capacity to move the four of us @ once will be the least of my worries. I don't want just mere suggestions of countries i can relocate to, I want something practicable and realistic especially from those who already have experience. When you mention countries i can relocate to, explain in details, how i will go about it because i have zero travelling experience. Lalasticlala, i will appreciate if you can help me move this to the front page, i need all the help i can get on this thread. 9 Likes 3 Shares |
