In life I have learn a lot of lessons, but the day I met with this man was the day I learnt the greatest of all lessons, the day I realized that money can't afford us good health.
Then, in Port Harcourt we were working in one of his projects, when we heard that he is coming to witness the progress on ground we were fully prepared to meet him, an hour before noon a long que of exotic cars accompany by team of mobile escorts comprises of army and police drove into the project ground and without doubt we knew that was the rich man we long to meet. We all que up outside professionally and behold a very leates model vehicle the very kind I usually seen on television pull out a man lying on a wheelchair I noticed before then were white medical expects who accompany him, and immediately the wheelchair touches ground this medical expects were rushing to arranged him comfortable in the wheelchair. He couldn't speak up even to the hearing of the closest person within him, he couldn't look up at the massive project we executed on ground, he couldn't see the paperwork we tried to present. What I saw baffled me, I think to what extent, medically can money afford to keep this man in good health, the best hospital in this world the family would have it possible. At that point his money wasn't useful to him except his family.

No doubt this man was extremely wealthy than most of the secular names we read on social media and above all he was a great philanthropist, he impacted immensely to humanity, University of Port Harcourt and his Kalabari people at large.

May his soul rest in perfect peace

The day capital cities starts integrating with other local governments, just like Lagos is the day I will understand that other states are ready for minimal development. States like Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa and other oil and well populated states (Kano) can not just be circling state capital alone and call it development. As far as am concern we are still far from it. How many local government areas can one call city in Rivers state And yet if we calculate her federal allocations, IGI, royalties, grants etc. One will clearly understand that we are in deep shit

Reminds me of this cartoon we watched in the late eighties when having a television was a luxury. In the town where we lived just two persons had a television set in 1986. My mother and her cousin would leave the house in the evening to go watch films. The TV owner a bachelor in his prime had just returned from Nigeria with a fourteen inch black and white TV set.

Most times my mum and cousin would return at midnight to the fury of my dad..Lol. My father scared that the bachelor might woo his wife obtained a bank loan and got a colour 21 inch Toshiba Tv by November 86.. That tv stil functions. I plan to sell it as antique by 2086. LOL

The problem of Niger Delta is mainly the Niger Deltans. If you investigate this matter sha, you go find out say na still their brother put their names for redundancy. I am not in support of tribalism or nepotism, but I know for a fact that our brothers sell the jobs available rather than give it out to qualified persons from the Delta.

Rivers state has the highest number of "lazy" youths. Everything in that state is all about youth this, youth that. The protest happened because the leadership of the youth was part of those sacked. It is not that they were doing anything for Shell, yet they were being paid as contract workers.

My client in Onne faces the same thing. Community youth leaders bringing list of grossly unqualified touts to be employed even when the company informed them that certain number of graduates from the community have been employed but the youths would still insists on imposing their people on the company.

Today, the company have shut down their administrative and executive office in PH and moved to Lekki phase two. Only the technical staff servicing clients are left in PH.

rivers indigenes don't bear dat name , only people from ijaw dat answer such names , have u not heard of names like , office , governor , goverment , chairman , president , council, easter , christmas , councilor , senator , commissioner and other names . Some of you commenting here are just arguing blindly without fact...... Am Onitsha guy, If Onitsha says that they migrated from present day Edo or Delta state it can be understood because we have many things in common with them (Anioma people) base on culture and names.. although we're in anambra state but totally diff with our neighbours (towns surrounding us) in culture .. Our king are known as Obi, same as Anioma towns in delta. .

I can tell you that ikwerre people are confuse set of people with inferiority complex.. They are not in any way related to benin.. I don't blame them but blame the Igbo people claiming them.... You have the same culture and language with your igbo niegbours yet claim to originated from far away benin without having anything in common with them.... Igala, Ibibio, Efik etc all have boundary with Igbo yet did not loose their language to Igbos then its only Ikwerre..



Some of you here, especially yorubas saying that igbos are claiming ikwerre because of access to sea... That's shows that you guys don't travel and knows nothing about Ikwere..... Ikwerre have no access to sea but their Ijaw neighbours (Bonny, Degema, Andony)... Ikwerre are in upper land of R.state so nothing concern them with Atlantic ocean.



The funny thing is that their Ijaw neighbors call and sees them as Igbos... Ask any guy from okirika, bonny or andony.

Rivers State may be the worst hit in terms of tribalism.
An Ikwerre Man never sees an Ogoni man as his brother.
Likewise Kalabari, Okrika, and many more..
U can live in RIVERS STATE for 100 years but would never get a government job as long as you are not an indigene..
Now, I am not surprised it's coming from the other side after all it was AWOLOWO who internalised it in Nigeria..

Not exactly true. Chinese are a million times richer than Africa but know how to harness business opportunities from us. Truth is that Akwaibomites are far more hardworking and innovative than Rivers people. Akwaibom of today is even Richer than Rivers if oil is the standard applied but they don't sit down and depend on what will come out as handout from oil exploration companies. Some Rivers people especially Ogoni and Etche are hardworking too but most others believe they are comfortable with handouts.
