seunmsg:
Reno omokri should shut up please. Nigerians are not fools and neither are we forgetful. 59 boys were killed at Buni yadi under Jonathan administration and over 200 girls were abducted and pastor Omokri saw nothing bad in these incidents. Jonathan never cared to visit either Buni Yadi nor chibok community where the incidents took place and Omokri as his media assistant defended all of his principals action.

Buhari has not only condemned the Agatu killings, he has also ordered an investigation into the matter. So, Omokri should spare us all this holier than thou bullshit. He should go and seek restitution for all the atrocities that he supported and committed during the GEJ administration. He lacks the moral standing to criticise or advice Femi Adesina because he said more terrible things during his time in government.

Do you lack comprehension or you just don't read at all? Is Reno not a Nigerian? That his Government goofed on issues like this stands him in a better stead than most Nigerians to know the repercussions of failing hence his being better qualified to advise than most of us.
He doesn't lack the moral standing to advise on matters like this since he is speaking from experience (negtive). He didn't paint the GEJ administration as saintly either but did accept their mistakes/shortcomings ; he doesn't want PMB to make similar mistakes hence his advice. Always read the messages and take away the lessons taught. Stop the hating/ blatant attack on the integrity or personality of the messenger.

Get a life bro! I've been an INEC official too before. When elections are concluded u go home and sleep and not to hotels. Mind you they are all Rivers residents. Why would an INEC EO leave the Collation centre without collating results on election day for an Hotel where big wigs of a contesting party are known to be lodged?

If she felt threatened by what Wike said, then she knows that she has compromised. A clear conscience fears no accusation! Why didn't other INEC officials run to police stations for protection? Why was her case different? Bro, please read in between the lines.

Point of correction, the place in ur pix is the Headquarters of the Rivers State Police Command, Moscow Road, PH. and not Mile one Police Station.

You are the one in the wrong here. I lived in Diobu and so I know that station. Besides, television broadcasts have also shown that it was mile 1 police station.

Pls get your facts right before condemning others. Cheers!

On the other point, why did the lady leave her collation centre for NOVOTEL hotel on the election day and afterwards proceeded to the police station where your folks claim to have given her protective custody? Can't you read between the lines? Do you still remember which party stalwart was lodged at NOVOTEL in the eve of the election? Make your guess!

MY EXPERIENCE AS APO 1 IN UNIT 6, WARD 4, OF EMOHUA LGA, IN RIVERS STATE SENATORIAL, STATE HOUSE OF REP AND NATIONAL HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY RE-RUN ELECTION ON 19/03/2016

I have been hearing that hudlums do snatch election materials from INEC officials during voting process until 19th March, 2016 when election materials were snatched in my polling unit where am acting as the Assistant Prisiding Officer 1(APO 1).
When we first arrived our RAC(Registration Area Center) on 18/03/2016, many people who are not INEC ad hoc staffs were seen hovering around the RAC. After collecting election material from our SPOs(Supervising Presiding Officers) at around 6:00AM, we set out to our various polling units after much delay. The buses that were conveying us to our various polling units were just crawling. Peole that are to work at different polling units were to move together accompanied by soldiers, SARS and police officers.
The crawling way of movement made us(my team-PO, APO 1, APO 11 and three police officers) to arrive our polling unit at around 3:20PM. We were the last people to reach their polling unit in our ward. The card reader failed after trying all the 10 fingers of the first person that came to vote. As the second person showed up for accreditation, a group of huddlums entered our polling unit from unknown where and made away with some of our election materials except our card reader(with me), ballot paper and election result(with the APO 11) . We all ran away including the 3 police men that were working with us. There was a pandemonium in the unit.
After the noises subsided, we re-converged at one place to discuss on how to move back to the LGA, since all the people that we called to come for our rescue who actually picked the call did not give us quick attention and there is only one road leading to the place except through water. One of the party agents among the two main party in Nigeria, who told us that the election materials were snatched by the other party member, offered to help us move out of the village. After much contemplation on whether we are save to move out of the village at that time or not, we agreed to move since we believed that the huddlums might come back to harm us or carry the remaining election materials. One of the villagers offered his car too. So, the police men entered the bus that conveyed us to the place and the rest of us with 2 of the villagers(the party agent and one other village boy) and the owner of the car left for the LGA.
On our way to the LGA, the party agent that were with us said that we have to pass through his party senetorial candidate to confess that it is other party member that snatched the materials from us. That was when we began to fill unconfortable with them. Then, th APO 11 insisted to board a car to Choba against the wish of the party agent and ours too. By then, we have lost the police men on the way from the community. The driver called me separately and asked me whether we and the party agent did not discuss anything? Which I sincerely replied that we did not discuss anything. On my own, I have decided not to meet or talk with the politician because some of them are heartless. After seeing how the guy was serious about taking us especially the woman(APO 11 who was with the result sheets and ballot paper) to the politician, the PO knelt down and begged the woman to give them the ballot paper and the election result sheets that she was carrying.
I left the scene with my phone on my ear as if i was making call. After I have given them about 300m gap to the LGA, I saw my PO running towards my direction. I asked him " what happened?" And he told me that the APO 11 has been tied and thrown into a Honda accord. Then, we ran together to the LGA. We saw many other corpers too who were complaining of the same snatch experience in their polling unit too. This is just the summary of what happened.
Please, thank God with me for this is my true life story. I am a serving corp member in Emohua LGA of Rivers state

http://www.viviangist.com/rivers-rerun-my-experience-as-an-inec-worker-in-rivers-state-nysc-member

OP, why are you not bold enough to mention the name of the party responsible for the tieing of your PO? From your story, anybody that is from Rivers State or knows Rivers can deduce the party and Senatorial candidate responsible for your ordeal. Let me state here that the Senatorial contest for Rivers East, of which Emohua is part of has Sekibo ( an OKrika man) for the PDP and Andrew Uchendu (an Ikwerre man from Emohua) for the APC.

So the party agent that wants to take you to his Senatorial candidate in the same Emohua on election day must be from the APC. Be bold and say it the way it is. It's APC that truncated the process in your polling unit.

viviangist2:
The Facts About The Mile 1 Police Divisional HQ Election Incident – Ibim
We have received with bemusement the attempt by the Rivers State Government and its image managers to retell the facts of the incident of Sunday, March 20 which occurred at the Mile 1 Police Divisional headquarters in Port Harcourt when Rivers State Governor, Ezebuwon Wike, in company with a retinue of aides, invaded the police station, held the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Collation Officer for Port Harcourt Ward 10, Mrs. Ekwi Adebisa, hostage.
Whereas it is not in our style to join issues with any tier of government, it is imperative that we state the facts because of the need to safeguard our electoral process and strengthen the confidence of our people in their leaders.
Mrs Ekwi Adebisa, the Port Harcourt City Ward 10 Collation Officer, for the March 19 rerun legislative election in Rivers State, was moved by force to the police station. The result she had collated was separated from her. While at the police station, agents of the Rivers State Government, brought her under duress to write a statement that she had been abducted and made to falsify the Ward result by agents of All Progressives Congress, APC.
That they forced her to the police station and kept under traumatic condition was in itself, criminal. But that they had forced the result she had lawfully collated out of her custody was more criminal.
Governor Wike had arrived the police station accompanied by Sen. George Sekibo, Mr. Austin Opara, Azubuike Nmerukini, as well as other aides of the governor.
As a leader in APC, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, Acting Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, being in attendance at the meeting, was among those delegated to go see what the actual development was.
When Semenitari and others arrived the police facility, they confirmed the report. .
In conclusion, we state therefore, that it was shocking to read a statement issued by Mr. Simeon Nwakudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, linking Semenitari to facts contrary to the truth as stated here. As a responsible citizen and public officer, Semenitari could not have engaged in any conduct unbecoming of her status.
As a Nigerian and Rivers daughter, she would always and at all times, protect and defend what promotes good governance.
May God keep us all safe in these curious times that try our people’s souls.

Why don't we hear from the police or the Mrs Ekwi herself? When did Ibim Seminatari become an INEC spokesperson?

Pertinent questions to ask: Is the police station a collation centre? How did the INEC official get to the station? Who forced her to the station? Why were Dakuku, Amaechi and other APC stalwarts at the scene before the Wike? Why were the APC goons shielding her? Why didn't she collate and announce the results at the Collation centre before all the agents the night before?Who do we believe?
The Video footage from AIT is at variance with Ibim's account of events? Why the variance? Somebody should tell us the truth!

I just watched the incident on AIT. Please find below the sequence of activities as reported/ or shown by the AIT video clip:
1. PDP youths arrived the station; claimed they were looking for the INEC official and got to know that she was at the station
2. Dakuku, Ikanya (APC RIVERS Chairman) and other APC stalwarts arrived the station accompanied by the AIG demanding for the release of the INEC official to them
3. Amaechi in the company of the military and other APC stalwarts arrived the station
4. Wike accompanied by some PDP stalwarts arrived the station just about when Amaechi was coming out of the police station building.
5. Amaechi, Dakuku, Ikanya and other APC stalwarts leave the station with the INEC official
6. Wike seen asking the DPO (maybe other superior officer) questions about the incident. The response wasnt audible enough for me to pick what was said.

Make your own judgement.

Pls read the footnote and know the source of the story. Direct your questions to Vanguard pls.

Politics / Re: Military Confirms Death Of Two Soldiers In Abonema, Rivers, Releases Statement by ibitzbarlow(m): 1:43pm On Mar 18, 2016
Asher79:

http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/nigeria-military-issues-statement-over-killing-of-army-general-soldiers-in-rivers-state.190666/

I have seen this press release on several blogs and posts on Facebook but still don't believe it. Below are my reasons for not believing this story or the press release:

1) There was a peaceful and robust PDP rally in Abonnema yesterday; no report of fighting/rioting was heard on that front.
2) I called some folks back home (including a staunch APC member) in Abonnema in the evening who all claimed not to be aware of such incidence. Rather, they told me Abonnema was peaceful and that there was no apprehension in town. The APC guy told me that though he had heard of the incident from people outside Abonnema, he was not aware of such incidence in the town. This guy is a very popular trader in Abonnema and has one of his shops near the Military check-point at Owusara, Abonnema.
3. The Press release doesn't look authentic to me; it could be made by any unscrupulous fellow just to heighten tension in the area.
4. Still on the press release, the military command in Rivers State knows the state very well and couldn't have, in my opinion, made the mistake of saying Abonnema is in Degema Local Govt Area. Abonnema is the headquarters of Akuku-Toru Local Govt Area.
5. We are yet to see supporting evidences (pictures and videos) of the said incident.
6. Even on Facebook, residents of Abonnema are denying that such incident occurred in Abonnema.

My take:
Maybe this is all a ruse, a plan to get the military into action against the people of Abonnema or
Men of the Nigeria Army were actually killed yesterday in that axis but not in Abonnema.

The centralized mode of power distribution is outdated. It might have been necessary after independence but with the significant population growth over the past 5 decades, it should be obsolete.

Each town or city should be able to provide electricity to its populace via partnerships with private utility companies.

You are spot on, bro. The Grid system does not efficiently distribute power and should be done away with. So much wastage and inequity in distribution.

The oil companies owned by foreigners are being proved right: the Nigerians of the ND do not care one hoot about their lands and even if oil destroyed the last fish or green sprout, they'd take that for a little handout of money! They bombed a multi-billion dollar infrastructure that will adds and ultimately will always add value to their cities / states, spilled oil that will destroy their environments and cost billions to clean-up, which may not happen for decades given Nigeria's record of handling issues like this, and that is smart? Well, let them just set fire to the place and burn it down completely, let us see who will suffer!

You talk without an understanding of the situation in the creeks. You condemn a people because of the actions of a renegade few. Do you think that the Niger Delta fisherman, farmer or peasant is happy about the destruction of his source of livelihood? Do you think that the Average Niger Deltan has access to these pipelines? Is it not the Government's responsibility to protect the lives and properties of her citizens as well as protect the country's source of revenue? Do you think that the sea-faring Niger Deltans , who face molestation, kidnapping and piracy in their waters everyday by these elements are happy with the situation? Go to the creeks and witness first-hand what insecurity is. I am from the creeks but can't remember when last I visited the creeks because of these hideous elements who are paid/compensated for their crimes against their people and the nation at large.
Till the right solution is proffered, we will experience incidences like this.

Most of you bashing Lai Mohammed do not have idea with it takes to be a minister of Information.
None of u have ever held a small position like PRO of ur village meeting/union.

What Lai Mohammed said is not far from the truth. Its very obvious just that when someone u hate makes a comment, it will never taste fine in ur system.

My anger with GEJ is that he overpriced the obsolete items he bought. Had it been they were bought at right price, I will be asking Lai Mohammed which one have ur government bought so far

I would have agreed with your assertions here but for hindsight. Do you remember that no country (not even the US) was willing to sell us weapons? These weapons were gotten from the black market at a time acquiring them was a must for the country. You get anything from a black market - from good to bad. Besides, in such situations, where one is desperate for a product, he or she has little or no control over the price since the advantage rests squarely with the seller.
