Well......you will need to apply for a master's program elsewhere when you arrive. And you will need to pay because you will be on a study permit.

Why didn't you apply for an MSc initially?

Iblad0994:
Hi bosses in the house.. I'm a graduate of geology with Cgpa of 3.98 from FUTA .. But I applied for undergraduate studies in centria university of applied science and I've been given admission to study environmental chemistry and technology B.tech ..

I want to ask two question:

. Is it possible for me to switch to master's degree when I get to Finland and or maybe find some other universities in another cities of Finland for a master's degree if I get to centria.

2. Will it still be free tution for the masters of I apply directly from Finland

The reason why I asked is that I think it sounds somehow like a waste of time for me to be pursuing a 4 year undergrad programme again , please some vast in knowledge should help me answer this questions

Thanks in anticipation for your reply

Well done Bellong and all the ogas in the house! Please someone should come to aid I graduated in 2012 as Electrical/Electronics Engr. and am about completing my Masters degree in the same field hopefully around March 2017 without working experience except the usual 6months IT n 1yr NYSC which I did in 2011 n 2014 respectively. Moreso, I run a Printing/publishing office registered with CAC for 7yrs now where I personally handles the Graphics design of every job n it always puts food on my table.
PTE: about to register
Age: 31
NB: I wouldn't mind nominating either of the two (Electrical/Electronics related in SOL or Graphics designer in CSOL)
Please kindly advice; with this info above do I stand a chance of getting positive assessment n necessary point required to migrate

Thanx

Yeah, go for Electrical Engineer and assess with EA. You don't need work experience and can write your CDR based on IT, final year project etc.

There's so much info on this thread for Engineers, so a quick run through will be beneficial.

Cheers!

1. Yes. In most cases, you only need to assess your highest qualification. I only sent my MSc credentials.

2. I really don't know because you already included it in your application. Maybe other gurus have answers.

But I heard somewhere that they are issuing transcripts despite the strike....that they now have an online platform...Maybe you should try to find out.

Baba1010:
Hi Guys,

Applied for credential assessment with WES few weeks back. My undergrad with Lautech and a UK masters. Transcript for my masters has been received by WES. Yet to figure out how to sort out transcript for my undergrad in Nigeria considering the school has been on strike for some time now.

1.) Can anyone kindly confirm if only my masters is suitable for application and does it have any impact on my score?

2.) Is there a way I can have WES delete credentials for my undergrad as they are still expecting docs in that regard.

Thanks .

Please I am am undergraduate in 300 level and according to Wikipedia, Finland has the best educational system in the world. please how can I gain admission into a school there and the cost.. I am still 17,would be 18 next year
please ho would I go about it

This thread is mainly for Masters admission. Since you're already in 300L I would advice you to complete your bachelor's degree first , then you can review masters options.

All the best!

To be honest it's gonna be hard considering the CGPA but there's no harm in trying. Especially now that it's no longer tuition free, they might relax their entry requirements.

Cheers!

Hello gurus in the house, I have been a silent reader on this Finland thread now and I'm interested in doing my Master's program in Finland. I studied electrical engineering with a GPA of 2.63/5 and I would like to ask the gurus in the house, what are my chances of getting admission to the masters program, I intend applying for physics. And also I heard Finland has some tuition free universities of which I'm very interested in. And also can one survive with a part time job in Finland during the program. what are the odds especially when I can't speak the language. your response is highly appreciated. thanks
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by iceberg54: 1:26pm On Dec 28, 2016
You should do a certificate evaluation first. Create another profile afterwards.

TanTish:
Good day to all the Gurus,

I am an ardent reader of this great thread and sincerely appreciate the selfless service of many here. I would really love to key into the Canadian express entry opportunity.

I created my EE profile and submitted my application on the 24th of December and this morning I received a message, stating that I'm not eligible.

I was taken aback because I got 422 when I did the CRS ranking. I'm really confused at this point.

I already have my IELTS with L8, R 7.5, S7 & W 7.
I am a masters degree holder although I am yet to evaluate it because the certificate would be out this January. I have 5 years working experience,I'm 34 years old , married with 2 kids, my husband is 35 years old, a bsc holder with 8 years working experience. He intends taking his IELTS exams in January although I filled a dummy score of 7 across all bands .

I'm so devastated at the moment and would really appreciate if anyone with a similar experience can advice or share their experience. Also can I create another profile ,probably after evaluation of my certificate and do I state that I have applied before?

Thanks in advance as I await your kind directives/response.

@jamson

Congrats brother. This is good news indeed.

I need the advise of the good people on this platform. I have gone through majority of the post here and i need an urgent advice from the house.

I submitted my EOI on Dec 11 for Computer Network Engineering with 65pts and am also about making payment for a master's degree. Based on some of the testimony here, am having a mind of stopping the payment because it is likely for the money to be deducted from my account by the bank next week based on my discussion with the person helping with the process.

3.5M will go a long way in helping with processing if i got ITA since the essence of the study is also for migration process with my family. What do you advice i should do.

Bro, defer the admission and pay the subsidized tuition fee after PR, if you really wanna study. 3.5m is a lot, and you have enough points for PR.

Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by iceberg54: 11:19am On Nov 14, 2016
You should try to rewrite your episodes... There are many people here that can help with that... I think Engineering Technologists now need 65 points to be invited.

Folatem:
Got the following message from my assessor early this morning and still wondering what my next line of action should be -

"The ANZSCO definition of the tasks performed by a Telecommunication Network engineer is 'plans, designs and monitors complex telecommunications network and associated broadcasting equipment'. None of your Carrier episodes describe any of these tasks.
Therefore, you are required to rewrite Career Episodes 2 and 3 to describe tasks that follow the ANZSCO definition of Professional Telecommunications Network Engineer. Alternatively, you may leave your Carrier Episodes unchanged for an assessment outcome of Engineering Technologist (ANZSCO 233914)".

The message is very clear though, I doubt I will be able to write another Carrier Episode.
What do you guys advice?

Upload the transcript pages separately naming each page; transcript page 1, transcript page 2 etc. Remember the size should be between 100-200KB. If you are within Abeokuta, come to READYHANDS TECHNOLOGIES, OBANTOKO, ABEOKUTA (08030755190, 08038312501) if you need further assistance.

Question for the Engineers.. I have read the whole MSA user guide from EA - it is possible I missed it - but I did not see anything about the Chronology of the CDR as a whole pertaining to each CER.... So I want to ask, Is there a specific chronology? do we write from most recent to the oldest, or from oldest to most recent;;;

for example if I have 3 episodes from 2012, 2013, 2014

is there a specific rule that says maybe CER 1 MUST BE 2012, CER 2 = 2013, CER 3 = 2014

OR , CER 1 = 2014, CER 2 = 2013, CER 3 = 2012

If there is no such rule,, what arrangement is recommended? Abi it doesnt matter? Thanks

(i've finished writing two... i'm on the last one, na why I dey ask)

It doesn't matter bro...There's no such rule. But like oga bellong adviced, you could start with the most recent.

Cheers!

Oga bellong and other gurus in the house, I need your opinion on this biko!!

I got my transcript through my friend's office secretary since EA does not accept transcripts directly from institutions.
Now, the challenge is that the transcript's cover letter is addressed to the secretary and not EA. Is this going to be acceptable to EA? If not, can I just upload the transcript without the cover letter?

Please advice!

Yes, you can upload without cover letter.

I foresaw the recent spate of denials by migri when guys started writing them about the current naira situation. I was very surprised why some people thought this was necessary, they should have been left alone to their job. Migri won't deny you out-rightly based on incomplete funds, they will first write to inform you, so there was no need to panic.

They have a fixed value used for every application period and even if currency fluctuates, they know its not the fault of the applicant and they would normally not take drastic measures such as this.

But when they started getting numerous emails, of course they will act, which explains why they even had to revisit already decided cases. And its funny that a lot of people that sent those emails didn't even have sufficient funds in their account, then why call their attention to it.

The exchange rate last year was at least 300 (can't remember exactly), yet they didn't increase minimum requirement nor gave guys any wahala.

A similar thing happened years back. A couple of years ago, you could pick up a statement of account from under bridge ikeja and use it to apply and get permit. But some years ago, some guys here decided to do 'I too know' and went on a protest that Finnish employers were not giving them jobs to support themselves while studying. The Finnish authorities were stunned and thought "But you guys showed over 6k euros in your account naw, so why do we need to give you jobs to survive?". So they had to investigate and then discovered our "wuruwuru" way of arranging the bank statement thingy. That was when they started checking account with banks.

Anyways, I sincerely hope those with pending applications get a positive outcome especially considering that this is the last chance for tuition free education.

Wish everyone the best.

And lastly, people who are in a "better country" already should just forget about migri and move on. Life comes with ups and downs and thank God for the alternative provided. I know people who were denied twice and still applied the third year, did the right thing, and got in.

Cheers guys!

I am submitting my documents to AIMS for assessment tomorrow with IELTS overall test score of 7.5, 5 years of work experience starting from internship till now.

I just hope AIMS will assess me as a Medical Laboratory Scientist because of my registration and MSc degree in Public Health in the UK. I am yet to read this thread very well but when the need arises, I will come back to it.

There was an agreement between IBMS and AIMS sometimes ago. I believe you should be assessed positively, especially with your experience.
