Shouldn't we just write a screenplay or script if we can?

Can Oyedepo also curse himself huh
Think about it.
If he continues to honour those who steal from their government and private sector positions and collect donations/tithes/vows/seed offerings etc that he should have "vision/word of knowledge" that it is beyond the givers' legitimate income then he-Oyedepo is also a thief. shocked
As the Yoruba's say, eni gbe epo laja o jale to bi eni gba lowo e - He who stole is less guilty compared to the receiver (instigator) of the stealing. sad
'Nuff Said! I heard they are probing Jimoh Ibrahim, one of Bishop Oyedapo's good friends

@ Ex Inferis

That's my point. Wasn't Dr. Manhattan convincing? He certainly was for me, anyway. When I say a movie must be realistic, I'm also including the special effects and action sequences, Matrix was realistic not because of the narrative but because the effects were believable (they were in the Matrix) and the ONLY reason to watch 300 is for the action (Realism is unimportant).

Haven't seen Mira Sorvino in ages! Is she still acting?
Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo Curses Robbers Who Raided Canaanland by icezik1(m): 2:03pm On Aug 06, 2008
I'm not judging the Bishop Oyedapo. All I'm saying is that all those that said he cursed the robbers out of anger should go and rethink their statements. A true Christian would never react out of anger. Therefore, I'm assuming he (Oyedapo) cursed the robbers because he either knows it was right or feels it was right.
Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo Curses Robbers Who Raided Canaanland by icezik1(m): 2:00pm On Aug 06, 2008
no rational human being would curse anyone simply because they were angry. this is not a reasonable defense.
Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo Curses Robbers Who Raided Canaanland by icezik1(m): 1:56pm On Aug 06, 2008
What differentiates Christians from Jews and Muslims? Christ. So if Christ is what makes us Christians, then it follows that we should be Christ-like. Would Christ have cursed the robbers? I really don't know. However, I believe, that as a Christian, you should be able to think rationally and always ask yourself this question, "What Would Jesus Do?". The ANSWER IS NEVER OBVIOUS BUT THAT IS WHY WE SHOULD PRAY TO GOD FOR UNDERSTANDING.
Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo Curses Robbers Who Raided Canaanland by icezik1(m): 12:16pm On Aug 06, 2008
What many people don't seem to understand is that Jesus came to Earth to change some of the rules that existed. He said that the two greatest commandments are "Love your God with all your heart and all your strength" and "Love your neighbor as yourself". He changed everything about the Old testament.

Would you curse yourself?

'Nuff said.

I'd love to see Sean Connery in a new movie!

@Ex inferis

For a movie to be good, it has to be convincing, no matter how silly the topic is. I can suspend my believe when watching a movie but it also depends on what the movie is about. If it's a comedy, then you know up front it ain't supposed to b e convincing, just funny. However, if it's drama, then it needs to be convincing. All recent DC movies have been Action/Drama.
And so for them to be good, they need to be convincing.

Nairaland GeneralMy Favourite Female Members On Nairaland Are Iice And Gamine. by icezik1(op): 8:40am On Aug 06, 2008
Well, MY FAVORITE female Nairaland members are both iice and Gamine.

I love the multicolored font iice posts her threads in and at over 15000 posts, is there any other person (other than Seun) that has posted up to her? She always keeps her posts real.

As for Gamine, she's just wacky.  wink
Nairaland GeneralRe: My Favourite Female Member On Nairaland Is Gamine. by icezik1(m): 8:32am On Aug 06, 2008
Well, I've got 2 favorite female members on Nairaland and they are iice and Gamine, in that order. If someone wants to start a thread about them I don't see why not.

Hurray for Gamine and iice.

And yes, in case you were wondering, this is advanced internet toasting (418)  grin

Yeah, I agree, Thor should be tall and very blond (Scandinavian) looking. Can they pull off a convincing Thor movie? They really tried with Iron Man but Thor is a whole different ball game. Just look at The Dark Knight. They took an unlikely story (A guy in a tight costume jumping between buildings and beating bad guys with his fists) and made it convincing. Thor, on the other hand, unlike Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark is not "normal". He's a god, who lives in the body of some mortal giving him godlike abilities over lighting and thunder and he has a huge hammer. undecided Eh , not very believable.

On a different topic, the Watchmen posters are all over the net. I wanted to use rarer ones in this post. Besides, I love the Rorschach picture.

Who Watches the Watchmen?

Watchmen has got to be one of the 3 best comics I've ever read in my life (As short as it has been). The other 2 have been Rising Stars and Naruto (Please forgive me). I have been checking around for The Dark Knight Returns, so i can read it.

Watchmen is the only comic in Time's Top 100 Books Ever. When I saw the trailer for the first time, I couldn't help but shed a tear or two from joy. So far movies of stuff I have read have come out and done quite well. I read Lord of the rings back in 1998 and When the movies came out even though they were not exactly the same as the book, they were still mad. Harry Potter and "The Dark is Rising" are 2 other books I read back in '98 that have become movies. Interestingly, I first heard of watchmen back in guess when? ,  yes, '98, however, I didn't read it until last month only to discover the movie is coming out. I don't think I have looked forward to a movie more eagerly than I'm looking forward to Watchmen!

Ok, my rant is over.
EducationRe: Madonna University: The Truth by icezik1(m): 10:49am On Aug 04, 2008
@bigrovar

Hmmm , I agree that AUST looks finer than Covenant but as far as facilities go, there is no difference. Ask any student of Covenant about what is available there. There are enough computers available if a student doesn't own one (About 75% of students own their own computer in Covenant) and there is freely available internet in the Hostels (via wireless). The only problem I have with Covenant University is their over-religiousness. Or else, as far as facilities go, there are in the top 5 of any University in Nigeria, Public or Private.

Sure, we don't have World Class labs for researching the life cycle of an ant but, I don't think there is any course that can complain that they do not have the adequate facilities necessary to learn.

It's Skingo!! How can you even vex over what He's saying?! If he ain't SauceKid, then he must be SauceKid's brother. How can Sauce Kid be better than Mode9? That is an insult not only to Mode9 but to Hip Hop as a whole. Just ignore the guy!

@YourFather

Judging from your philosophy, to be Nigerian is to show something Nigerian in your video? Hmmm , okay, the only P-queer song I liked was ifunaya and that was very Nigerian (don't know if you've seen the video). However, for rappers, like mode9 or Terry tha rapman. It's not easy being "Nigerian" because you can't be a good rapper and act Nigerian at the same time. Just look at Lord of Ajasa! 2shot tries but in the end, he's still quite "foreign". And no matter what Ruggedman says, He still raps like an American but uses Nigerian slang's. Gino, M.I, Ikechukwu, Naeto C, Sasha etc can't rap any other way than "foreign".

R&B, on the other hand, has no excuse for not being Nigerian, because it's much easier to sing Nigerian than rap Nigerian. That's why people like P-queer vex me at times. Styl-plus are actually trying, have you heard their album? Faze, 2face, and 9ice are fiercely Nigerian. My point is, before you jump to conclusions about any particular artist first listen to their album, then come back and analyze.

@GAmine

You're a racist against your own people! How can you only like Asa and 9ice? Infact, I'm sure you only like 9ice because everyone else does. What about Lagbaja, Styl Plus or Mode9? 2face, Faze and Terry tha Rapman? Roof Top Mcs? You mean you don't even like ROOF TOP MCS?!?!?!?!?!?! How na? I'm very sure you ain't listened to these peoples albums. They are all very Nigerian.

@YourFather

You're absolutely wrong. I'm wearing buba and shokoto and I'm using an Omatek laptop (Nigerian).

@chiogo

You should turn on a radio some day and just listen to Nigerian music. You'll realise your mistake.
