khufu:Nonsense. Have you been to CU? Who told you one can buy grades there? If that was true, then there would be like 500 first class because most students in that school have a lot of money. Maybe you ain't heard of the number of students they expel every month just because they suspect they've cheated. The Bishop is a billionaire and he didn't make his money from the university. Don't get me wrong, it ain't that I'm supporting the school, it's just that I prefer when people make accusations based on facts not assumptions. No yarn wetin you no understand! |
NIGCOMSAT recently started selling it's bandwidth to ISP's. What this means is Nigeria will have a direct connection to the internet. So our present broadband providers (Swift, Visafone EVDO, Glo 3g, Starcomms EVDO etc) will technically increase in speed. I have already sampled the potential speed at Multilink's switch direct and I achieved a download speed of 630kb/s. That means it takes me roughly 3-4 minutes to download 100mb. However, I have no idea when ISP's will start rolling out this service for consumers. So my advice is wait for at least 1 month. Then make sure you ask your ISP if they are using NIGCOMSAT. For now, whenever, you connect to the net you're probably using an gateway (Satellite) in South Africa, Isreal etc. So you can't get particularly fast speeds. Glo are already laying a fibre optic backbone connected to NIGCOMSAT so everyone will basically be using fibre optic lines (land line). Then you can then decide which ISP to use over your fibre optic line. None of this seems likely to happen soon, so all of you are just going to have to wait. Just manage your present internet connection for now. |
Pity, I wasn't there! |
How many people have 24hours internet and broadband in Nigeria? Until that day comes, I don't think a FM2008 league would work out well! BTW, join the FM Africa research. Find players we can add to the database, etc |
Club historian Rick Glanvill and statistician Paul Dutton look back on another epic season at Stamford Bridge, and find a range of remarkable happenings. All the stats from 2007/8 that you could possibly need. Rick summarises the story. In many ways this was a campaign of considerable turmoil. The club parted company with the most successful manager in its history soon into the season, long-term injuries ruled out several key players, and there was the disruption of the Africa Cup of Nations after the turn of the year. Amazingly, Chelsea players were unavailable 286 times over the 62-game season because of injury, suspension, international duty or other absences. All of which make the achievements of the coaching staff and the extended squad all the more extraordinary. They competed in two cup finals, and lost out on penalties in the European Cup and by just two points to supposedly the greatest team Sir Alex Ferguson has ever assembled. What might this astonishing Chelsea team have achieved with a little more stability? A dubious penalty awarded at Wembley, a poorly defended cross at Barnsley, lax play that allowed an Emile Heskey equaliser, and a penalty slip in the wet of Moscow were harsh lessons for the club that the margin of error between winning and losing football's prizes is so slight - as it was when even when we were winning them. It was a campaign of low-key but substantial achievement, of constant pressure and sneaking up on the rails, but nothing to show for it. Bizarrely, not one Blues player was selected for the PFA Premier League team of the year after a sustained challenge in every competition. Never the less milestones were achieved that set this Chelsea team in its proper historic place. Yet even when the proud home league unbeaten run was extended beyond Liverpool's previous record, in the first game of the season, there was something strange about the 3-2 win against Birmingham. In hindsight it was the harbinger of an unaccustomed vulnerability in Chelsea's defence that occasionally cost dear. What that game didn't foretell was the lack of clear-cut chances in front of goal that was evident throughout the trophy chase. The most common scoreline in the league was a 1-0 win - it occurred in nearly one in four matches. The tight margins meant late equalisers brought anguish at Spurs, and home to Everton, Wigan and Bolton, when a more comfortable lead would often have reflected Chelsea's earlier dominance. Sixty five league goals is several fewer than in the title-winning seasons 2004-6 (both 72), but actually one more than the total managed in 2006/7. The team conceded twice more this season - 26 - than last year, though, so the goal difference is one worse: 39. The argument that protecting against a Stamford Bridge defeat might be playing on minds - the crowd's included - is reinforced by statistics. Chelsea drew 37 per cent of Premier League meetings at the Bridge. Our league success was built away from Fulham Road. Chelsea won two-thirds of away games and boasted easily the best record among Europe's most competitive leagues. Our win percentage of 68 per cent was five better than Spain's toughest tourists, Villarreal, nine better than Bayern Munich in Germany and a whole fifteen better than Inter, the best in Italy. We have the highest UEFA ranking going into next season's Champions League. Of course, since the Champions League final was lost on penalties, the match counts as another draw, Fenerbahçe representing the last loss in any game. And that means that whoever takes over as Chelsea manager next season, they will go in on the back of a ten-match unbeaten run in all competitions, and 21 in the league alone. Plenty to build on there. But room for improvement too. POST-SEASON BRIEFING: STATISTICAL SUMMARY FOR SEASON 2007/8 - by Paul Dutton. At least, now you guys believe me when I say he is the coach! I said so yesterday but no one believed me. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/NewsHomePage/0,,10268~1326946,00.html |
It's in Tinapa in Calabar not Abuja. And it's going to be a 4 team invitational tournament which includes Man Utd, Portsmouth, Super Eagles and a Nigerian club side to be voted for by the Nigerian people. It's holding at the end of July. |
Have any of you joined the FM Africa research site or you can't be bothered to improve the game? Man Utd and Portsmouth are playing an invitational tournament here in Nigeria and most of the big African players abroad started playing in African clubs before moving there. You can't tell me there are no potential stars in Nigeria! Yakubu Alfa of the U-17 squad was voted by FIFA as one of the promising future stars but in FM the guy is crap because he is playing in Nigeria. This is insulting to Nigeria and all of us on this thread that play the game should at least make an effort to inform the guy (his name is Driss) about the African database. He is single handedly researching for the entire continent. I assure you that your contributions on the site are actually inputted into the game. Many of what we complained about on the site were changed in the 8.0.2 patch. So I'm begging all of you again to please help us improve the general game experience. The site is http://www.fmafrica.net/ and my personal thread on the site is http://www.fmafrica.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=168 |
Hmmm , Nateevs, why did you ignore the Luis Felipe story? Click on these links below and see what I'm saying. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2008/06/10/paperview31.xml http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,23840528-2883,00.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?view=DETAILS&grid=&xml=/sport/2008/06/10/ufnscolari110.xml |
"After a long and exhaustive search, Chelsea have reportedly found their new manager, and according to the Daily Mail it is none other than Luiz Felipe Scolari. Apparently, details of the contract were finalised last week 'in one of the best-kept secrets in football history'. The Mail believes that Scolari has been the favourite to succeed Avram Grant all along and the fact that an announcement has not yet been made points to the Portugal national team coach being the obvious appointment." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2008/06/10/paperview31.xml http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,23840528-2883,00.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?view=DETAILS&grid=&xml=/sport/2008/06/10/ufnscolari110.xml If these stories are to be believed then Scolari is our (Chelsea) new coach. Explain's why Chelsea are bidding for Mountinho, Quaresma and Deco! |
Apparently, Luis Felipe Scolari is our new Coach. |

Yo, you guys should check out http://www.fmafrica.net/ its a research site for Football Manager. You guys should help improve the Africa and especially Nigeria database. Please help check the current patch for any errors related to Nigeria players. Thanks. If all of us on this thread become researchers I'm sure we will be able to improve FM2009 as far as Nigerian players are concerned. My thread on the website is http://www.fmafrica.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=168 |
Yeah, I'm glad people are hearing what I heard the first time I listened to the song. When I said it sounded like fuji, what I meant was it sounded like he was speaking Yoruba in some sections. It's especially noticeable in the remix. |
Make sure to unrar the file first and then put the two files in the same folder and load the FM2008.cue with any disc image program like Daemon and Alcohol |
Hey guys, I attached a FM2008 mini cd that you can load with Daemon tools or Alcohol 120%. This will allow you play any patch of Football Manager 2008 without an original cd. ![]() |
This new track by Styl Plus is insane. When I first heard the tune I assumed it was an American Rock band, until I heard Shifi's voice then i knew. The track is going to make waves amongst Nigerian Rock fans. Big ups to them. I would love to have uploaded the song for people to download but I think you should go buy the album. It costs just 150 box. If you've heard the song and feel it please holla back. |
Just download FM Scout Genie 2008. It will help you scout for good players in the game. |
In the bloody end, the most powerful character is irrelevant as it depends on which manga or anime you follow. |
I just got Mauro Zarate and he hasn't failed to score at least one goal a game since he came. He partners well with Amauri in my Palermo team. I loaned Mikel (john Obi) and he has already overtaken Van der Vaart as my highest "Assists" player. By the Way, Andrea Barzagli is my highest goal scorer and the highest goal scorer in the Serie A by 10 goals. This is because of the way I set up my corners. Let me explain how to set up corners so you can get like 30 goals a season from corners. First of all, go to your Tactics screen and in team instructions, set that your corner kicks are aimed into the six yard box for both left and right. Then ckeck everyone's individual instructions and make sure no one's position during a corner is set to forward and near post flick on. Then look for your strongest centre back (the required stats are strength 17-20, stamina 16-20, heading 17-20 and jumping 17-20). Then set this guy to challenge Goalkeeper and watch as you score at least one corner kick every game. In case, you didn't quite get my explanation, send me an e-mail and I will explain properly. As for the injuries issue. The fact is I don't play my star players during irrelevant matches like against Atalanta for example. However, of course Hugo Lloris, my goalkeeper plays almost every game. So far, only Kallstrom got injured but it was for just 1 week. |
To be honest, the first thing I see when I look at a girl are her boobs. That's how I was created, it ain't my fault. After that, I look at her face, then I look at the total package (her whole body shape). If everything seems right I then get to know her. Her accent and diction is very important, I can't stand a girl with local accent and bad grammar. She must be (preferably) more intelligent and responsible than I am or at least very witty. I also love big kissable lips. P.s:- When I say I like boobs, I don't mean big boobs or small boobs. THe size doesn't matter, what matters is the size and shape of the lady. That is, a big fat girl with humongous boobs doesn't move me. Everything has to be proportionate. |
No mind Gamine, na because she go soon graduate (graduate from CU) na why she they yarn like dat |
I am currently managing Palermo in the Italian Serie A, I'm currently fourth but that's because I drew against Sienna and lost to AC Milan. I beat Juventus and Inter Milan by 2 goals to nil. I sold 3/4 of my players and bought Hugo Lloris (a mad goalkeeper, Has had a rating of 8 in every match), Van der vaart (I got him for 5 mil plus edison cavani in a part exchange), Kim Kallstrom on loan ( the guy has also got an average rating of 8 in every match), and mauro camorensi (sorry about the spelling but he's the Juve right winger (i got him by giving Juve Christian Zarrcado and 6 million). My greatest fear is a lack of suitable back-up incase my first team gets injured as I sold off almost everyone to buy just 3 players. However, at least I'm sure of European qualification at the end of the season. The worst position I should be able to achieve is 4th. Prior to this I was managing West Brom and in 3 seasons I had won the champions league and Premeirship by loaning big players from other clubs. |

@javalove Word. I completely agree. |
Mode9, MI, RuggedMan, OD and Terry tha Rapman |
Has anyone else noticed how Lil Wayne's new single Lollipop sounds like fuji music in some parts of it. At one point I almost believed they were speaking Yoruba. It just goes to show Nigerian music is ready to enter the American market. They've already started singing it for us. LOL! Anyway, if you've heard the song please post here and tell me if you agree it sounds like fuji or at least some other variant of Yoruba music. |
Lollipop - Lil' Wayne feat. Someone (can't remember who) |
No one said Mode9 made club bangers. It's not his style. I agree that Mode9 ain't as commercial as Ruggedman but if you actually listen to their music, you have to agree that they are both doing different kinds of Rap. Mode9 is a pure MC. He can rap to anything a DJ mixes and sound good whereas RuggedMan, Saucekid, etc rap to club beats that a DJ can't easily produce at a turntable. I'm just trying to differentiate for those that didn't know. |
