Nice work! For something Nigerian it wasn't so bad. However, I must fault the "Over-similarity" with Lara Croft (Tomb Raider). |
Gamine:Are you sure? Money is important. As A guy, I'm going to to chose a girl who has good looks but a girl is going to choose money over good looks. |
@Gamine This "smells" suspiciously like you're trying to justify your game playing. |
When I first saw the trailer for RocknRolla, the first thing that crossed my mind was if it was a Rockstar game movie. Rockstar are the guys behind the GTA series. |
Just saw the preview for RocknRolla. Its written/directed by Guy Ritchie (Yep, it's the one you're thinking of) the guy behind Snatch and Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels. It stars a host of big names including Gerard Butler (Hurray!!!!!!!!!), Thandie Newton (Her Royal Sexiness), Idris Elba, Ludacris, Tom Wilkinson etc. From the trailer, it looks like he's gonna do the same thing he did with his 2 previous movies. The movie is very British and deals with crime. Looking forward to it! https://farm4.static.flickr.com/3037/2613918342_e945c0e85b.jpg?v=0 |
I totally agree with Javalove. I have heard of Double 6 before and I strongly suspect he is amechi213. It's sad that you (Amechi213/Double 6) have to use modenine to get people to listen to your song or come to your thread. This is fake and whatever credibility Double 6 might have had has been ruined by this thread claiming ModeNine was on the track. Pity! ![]() |
Bamsyle:Exactly |
@Emad Ironically, you just proved my point by posting his lyrics. The song makes perfect sense, just say you don't understand Pidgin english. All he is saying in that song is that he is a normal guy whom God has blessed and he ain't going to act proud about it. He is saying that as Nigerians, we're all brothers and sisters and are in the same "one struggle, hustle, hustle" which simply means we're all struggling and hustling to make a living in this country. He also talks about the uniqueness of each individual and how we (Nigerians) should also view him as being unique. Emad, Are you even in Nigeria? I doubt it because if you were you would understand his song. I also wonder if you've ever heard 2face talking before. He can't speak very fluent English and is more comfortable speaking Pidgin. As I said before, go hate on something important like why eventhough we're an oil producing nation there's no petrol! |
Congratulations! |
krisunion:What nonsense. No where in the bible does it say that a disciple of God must be rich. Anyway, that ain't the point, the point is, yes, they receive lots of gifts from their congregation but should they not give these gifts to the less fortunate? Afterall, a Catholic or Anglican priest is given enough money just to pay his rent, buy good clothes and maybe fuel his car but that's all! They should not have anything more than the bare neccessities |
@Gamine You're just biased! I don't believe what you said. How can you only like Asa and 9ice? Are they the only original ones? What about D'banj, he ain't original or is he singing American music? Please, you've been influenced by the media into believeing the best artistes in Nigeria are Asa (who is actually residing in France) and 9ice (who was the only one recognised by Mandela). Go listen to D'banj, D Smart, Mode9, Timaya, Styl-Plus, The Original Stereoman, Age Beeka, Uchie the African Rockstar and Lagbaja! Then come back and tell me about innovation Nonsense! ![]() |
@Vescucci AH Ha, so you're a football manager fan like me. I guess we have more in common then. Yeah, anyway, please help us make the game better. Go to the research site and contribute. You'll see my thread there, I still use ice_zik. the site is http://www.fmafrica.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=168 |
Tuface ain't a rapper. His lyrics ain't important. I don't know why you guys are working yourselves up over something irrelevant. Please, it ain't as though R. Kelly has sensible lyrics or something. Can you tell me exactly what Sean Paul says in his songs? The truth is MOST people don't care. All they're interested in is the beats and the chorus even though they don't know what the words are. Stop being a hypocrite. Tuface is a Nigerian and therefore sings his songs in pidgin English, it ain't as though Americans are gonna understand what he's saying, the same way they don't understand many Jamaican songs. Go hate on something important, like why I have to browse the internet in darkness because PHCN can't be bothered to turn on our electricity. |
@javalove LOL Don't mind that one! Anyway, I listened to Attention by Double Six and didn't hear Mode9 anywhere! Is Mode9 actually on any track with Double 6? |
@dyabman I take it that you're Ruggedman. Well, bring on the war! |
True. I agree. Men are better cooks than women. You ain't gonna see any famous female chefs. In fact, when someone says "chef" only the image of a guy with a white cap cooking comes to mind (no females). I can cook and very well IMHO! |
lol! |
@Ex and Gamine Why the beef? @Vescucci Yeah, there's going to be a 7th film. This one is less childish than the previous ones because Harry is now 16 years old. There will be nastier themes and more french kissing . |
That reminds me. I saw the teaser for the 6th Harry Potter movie and it looks quite good actually. They show a young Voldemort asking Dumbledore if he can do the things he can do and then Dumbledore makes the door frame burst into flames. The most striking part was when, as Dumbledore hubbled (Is this a word?) out of the room, Voldemort says that he can speak with snakes and a strange expresion crosses Voldemort's face (Madness?). The movie looks suitably dark. |
Did all y'all know that The Dark Knight is currently the 3rd best selling movie of all time, and in just 4 weeks! This means, that over the next decade every single blockbuster movie is going to be based on a comic. There are some super hero comics that should never make it to the light of day. Hellboy was an example, Booster Gold and Cloak and Dagger are other examples. The Question might work out quite well so might Mighty Mouse . But seriously, it's starting to get ridiculous. Is everyone completly out of ideas and must go to the nearest drugstore and pick up a comic and say "Hey, I can make lots of money from this!". It's just a matter of time before they make a movie about that banana super hero from the Archie comics (or was it the Dennis the Menace comics?) ! |
Ex Inferis:LOL! That was funny! |
*quickly reads through everyones posts. Laughs at the Matrix essays. Considers writing one but changes mind.* Hiya folks! I love reading Ex's posts (can I also call you Ex?). I saw the punisher trailer and it was CRAP. They shouldn't have made another one. The first one was good enough. It really was. This one is going to finally ruin the comic. Oh well. I saw Max Payne trailer and there are "Demons" in it!? I was surprised. They're trying to turn it into some fantasy movie or something. It stank of Constantine. They should have stuck to original idea in the video game. The story in the video game was really intriuging and what made it quite nice was because the characters were unaware of the "Bullet Time". This concept would have really worked in a movie. In any case, Mark Wahlberg is Max Payne so that shows some level of promise. Was watching the video journals for Watchmen and I have no idea why I'm so excited about the movie. It's beginning to get obsessive. I think I might just go for some prayer and fasting to help cure me. |
@Gamine Typical! |
This is fun! |
Keanu in Plastic Man? That doesn't make any sense. I hope he can pull it off. Has anyone watched The Shadow? That was a classic super hero movie in my humble opinion. @Ex Inferis Actually, the reason Dr. Manhattan was convincing was his reaction to his powers. He didn't do the super hero thing and save people rather he did whatever it was he wanted to do. And the comics' title doesn't refer to the characters but rather to the concept behind the characters. I think (I'm not really sure) that Who watches the Watchmen is a phrase from some Latin poem about the Government. Basically, the phrase refers to the concept of who monitors those that monitor Society? Who polices Policemen? Who takes responsibility for society? This reminds me of something said in the comic. The second Nite Owl asks, during an anti-vigilantism riot, "Who are we protecting them (SOciety) from?" and his partner The Comedian replies, "From themselves." @Versucci I may not post often but I always read this thread. @Gamine Eya, sorry. Didn't know you were so busy at work. Sha, you must read the comics this weekend or else! ![]() |
@iice I watched Felon yesterday. It was a pretty depressing story. Anyway, Steven Dorf was the main character, the felon. |
@Every One On This Thread Did you all know that you're helping promote Mode9 on this thread? Good Job. It reminds me of something RuggedMan said: "My critics are now my fans because they analyze my lyrics" or something like that. Sha, you get the gist. |
I'm only posting on this thread because I'm a Mode9 fan. Therefore, I agree completely with whatever javalove has said up to this point. 'Nuff Said! |
