Swaggerman Dope - Mode9 feat. A1 |
Cheap Nairaland Promo! I'm disapointed. If you want us to listen to him simply post credible links not some stupid myspace link that I have no intention of going to! See the way Da Grin was promoted for pointers! |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't download this file! Lalaboi please, please! Upload it again! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
This song is the maddest Mode9 song I've heard since "Talking To You" and "Contradiction"! Who is A1? But, if Mode9 promotes this song properly he's gonna be a commercial success. One notable line from the track is , "Pardon me for being the best but I'm a little vain, And you're just a generic version of Lil' Wayne." (Perhaps an M.I diss?) |
@Rhymstein Na true talk be this. |
Mikel is going to be Chelsea's Pirlo. Hmmm , Ancelotti is modeling Chelsea after AC Milan, converting Lampard to Kaka and Mikel to Pirlo. My only question is what will happen to malouda and how exactly does Zhirkov fit into a wingerless formation? |
@All Did it occur to you guys that the original poster is just trying to get you people to buy City People? If anyone has actually read City People before, they'll know it's just a sleazy gossip rag with 80% of it made-up stories or paid for stories. |
Boring! |
I agree it was Ruggedman that proved that you didn't have to be with Kennis to be big but it was 2shot that showed that you could make money without joing them. 2shot changed the music industry by taking his album directly to the piraters and getting them to sell it instead. T.Joe and all the other big Marketers/distributers were all formed off the back of 2shot's genius and innovative move! |
Hurray a movie club. We used to have something like this before but the same people on this thread stopped posting on that one. Sha, this one is more organized. |
On a side note if he can get Pixel Chaos to do his "Talking To You" video it would be great. They are the guys behind M.i's "Safe", Djinee's "Lade" and Dipp's "Dangerous". |
I know Javalove ain't modenine because he's my friend on Facebook so I can vouch for him. Anyway, personally, I love Mode 9's music and if anyone asked me a year ago I would have said he was the best rapper in Africa, however, in recent times with the emergence of M.I and resurgence of SauceKid and some other new emcees on the wings especially DaGrin, I believe Mode9 needs to up his game and come out with something more people can connect to. I wonder where his "Talking To You" video featuring Banky W is? He needs to release that video alongside "Nine" and maybe "Big Boy Rap" and He will shoot back up to the top. Just an observation. I hope Javalove agrees. |
I've heard both songs and while I prefer the beats for Nas's "Hero" I actually prefer Mode 9's "A Hero Has Come" for the flows and would rather listen to it. |
Yeah, the Safe video was made by MEX of Pixel Choas |
What happened to Mex and IGHO? Mex of Pixel Chaos is responsible for Dipp's video as well as Djinee's Lade feat. MI and MI's Safe feat. Djinee. Those videos where tight and off the hook as far as special effects are concerned. But for consistency the best music video director has got to be DJ Tee |
@Sauron and Wordsmith Hey guys, relax! Asher Roth is nowhere near as good as Eminem but that ain't the point. The point is Asher is the first credible WHITE rapper to rise up after Eminem specifically because of his unique concepts, that Suburb white experience. Anyway, it's unfair to compare both because they ain't rapping about similar things neither do they have similar styles. You could compare Eminem to the Jay-Z's and NAS's but you can only compare Asher to Kayne, Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi because these guys ain't gangsta/ghetto rappers. In fact, I'm going to start an Asher Roth thread. By the way, I have heard hints that Relapse 2 is not a Slim Shady album but a Marshall Mathers one. That sounds like a classic in the making. Relapse was neccesary to make the younger genration reaqauint themselves with Eminem. |
Wow, so this thread was resurrected after one year? NICE! |
Has anyone listened to Asher Roth? |
I've heard the album and it's tight. It's certainly more ganster than Eminem's album and closer to true Hip Hop but to me Eminem's album is still much better. Busta Rhymes and Rick Ross also have nice albums but the person closest to making an in impact in hip hop with their album is cameron (ie - apart from Eminem) |
Swagga like us - T.I. feat Jay-Z, M.I.A, Lil Wayne and Kanye West Hello - Eminem (Off his new album) My President is Black - Young Jeezy feat. Nas Usual Suspects - Rick Ross Elbow Room - Modenine (Another freestyle would be tight. I wanna hear M.I spit on it) World Go Round - Busta Rhymes feat. Estelle What's It All For? - Bazaar Royale If M.I and Modenine can pull off this mixtape with the above tracks then it will be proof to everyone of what I've been saying on Nairaland for two years! |
@dammiecool LOL ![]() |
~Sauron~:The mere suggestion that they could even be compared haunts me. |
Deeper than rap is a good album but not as good as Relapse. Lyrically, Eminem is sicker than Rick. Beautiful, Insane, Hello and Underground are all testament's to Em's lyrical genius. Besides, Rick Ross featured a lot of people to make his album good. Sha, the beats were mad. Good one to Rick. No beef with him, just think Eminem was better. |

9ice deserves artiste of the year |
@ A-40, Sauron and Co. I think we've all deviated a bit from the original point of the thread. A-40, you claim Eminem is whack, have you listened to his album? If you haven't then don't jump to conclusions. Please analyze his current singles "Crack a Bottle", "We Made You", "3 A.M" and "Old Times Sake" and tell me what's wrong with them specifically bringing up valid points. Thanks in advance! ![]() |
Chess thread nice. Who chess chess notation. Maybe we can play a game? |
@soso boy Boring rhymes, weak flows, rap ain't by force; go and sit in a corner, and take a rap course. |

There are 3 missing awards for Artiste of the Year, Recording of the Year and the (non-Nigerian) African artiste of the year. Anyone that knows the winners should please post them. Well, it confirms what I suspected. M.I and 9ice were the biggest winners, however Modenine was still recognised as the best lyricist. Despite everything written on Nairaland the awards were given to IMHO people that deserved it. Congrats to all the winners. Please post your opinions and who you think should have won a particular award and why. |
@Sauron I completely agree with you again. Keep reping Eminem. Don't mind the haters. He's the best lyricist alive and they all know it. |
@Sauron I completely agree with you. |
T.I Jadakiss Eminem Jay - Z |
