Forum Games / Fill In The Story by Icon(m): 10:08am On Feb 04, 2006
Hi All,
Here's another game. I'll give you a sentence and you'll provide 5, 6 or 7 sentences and your last sentence must be the one I gave you.. It must flow into the last sentence. Once you've completed it successfully, you can give us another sentence. Then someone else replies you and gives us the next sentence.
* No starting a sentence with "because"
* No ending a sentence with "and"
* All sentences must be complete

So, here goes...

Business / Re: Sending Money Around The Nation by Icon(m): 6:15am On Feb 03, 2006
You could also use Western Union Money Transfer. But you'll have to pay the charges.
Using a bank with an online, realtime system like Seun adviced is still the best. It'll get there in Seconds.
Politics / Re: Nigeria To Help America Find Osama Bin Laden! by Icon(m): 6:04am On Feb 03, 2006
We have enough problems in Nigeria... that Witches, wizard and ogbanjes have not solved. Does this not tell about the limit/futility of their powers? Those seeing vision should see visions to help Nigeria first, then we can start helping out other people.

The more you look the less you see, the more you see, the less you understand!!

@Chidi4u. I used to be like that too. I found older girls easier to flow with. They were much more mature and didn't seem concerned with mundane things like who visited last and who called last and things like that. Somehow we just flowed better. I could easily find out the things they wanted and get it for them, and they were always very appreciative.
Career / Re: Do Insurance Companies Pay Well? by Icon(m): 10:37pm On Feb 01, 2006
Very true. Insurance is not the way to go at all. Why don't you try asset management or banking?
Religion / Re: You're A Christian, Your Wife Is A Muslim. Will The Marriage Work? by Icon(m): 9:02pm On Feb 01, 2006
The marriage might work. It all depends on the understanding between the two of them. There are things they need to discuss before hand. Issues like How many wives the husband will marry, what religion their kids will follow, what happens on Sundays and Fridays, do they follow each other? What happens when friends come and they want to pray, will the muslim join in the prayers or v/versa? There are lots of things that need to be discussed but then like I said, it depends on the understanding between the 2 of them.

Jokes Etc / Could This Be Coincidence??? by Icon(m): 10:56pm On Jan 31, 2006
COULD THIS BE COINCIDENCE??
Check this out!

1) New York City has 11 letters

2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.

3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to
destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.

4) George W Bush has 11 letters.

This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets
more interesting:

1) New York is the 11th state.

2) The first plane crashing against the Twin
Towers was flight number 11.

3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2
= 11

4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was
carrying 65 passengers.
6+5 = 11

5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11
as it is now known.

9 + 1+ 1 = 11

6) The date is equal to the US emergency
services telephone number 911.

9 + 1 + 1 = 11.

Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make up your
own mind:

1) The total number of victims inside all the
hi-jacked planes was 254.

2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

2) September 11 is day number 254 of the
calendar year.

Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.

3) The Madrid bombing took place on
3/11/2004.

3+1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.

4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days
after the Twin Towers incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognized symbol for the US, after the
Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle.

The following verse is taken from the
Quran, the Islamic holy book:

"For it is written that a son of Arabia would
awaken a fearsome Eagle.
The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout
the lands of Allah and lo,
while some of the people trembled in despair still
more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and
there was peace."

That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

Still unconvinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel
afterwards, it made my hair stand on end:

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:

1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight
number of the first
plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.

2. Highlight the Q33 NY.

3. Change the font size to 48.

4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS

What do you think now?!!

Jokes Etc / I Can't Remember Who She Was! by Icon(m): 11:33pm On Jan 30, 2006
A motivational speaker approached a pulpit and said, "The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who wasn't my wife!" The crowd was shocked! He followed up by saying, "That woman was my mother!" The crowd burst into laughter and he gave his speech, which was well received.
About a week later, someone who had attended the seminar decided to use that joke in his sermon. As he approached the pulpit, he tried to rehearse the joke in his head. Getting to the microphone he said loudly,"The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who was not my wife!" His congregation sat shocked, After standing for 10 seconds trying to recall the second half of the joke, he finally blurted out "and I can't remember who she was!"

Moral of the story: Don't copy if you can't paste

Thank God Nairaland is back. So many things went through my mind. I first thought Nairaland had been hijacked, then I thought I had been banned but after trying to connect at home, in the office, and on my cellphone, I still couldn't connect.
@Seun, This weekend must have been the busiest for you. I'm sure we didn't feel this half as much as you... keep up the good work.

Thank God Nigeria won ... and thank God we didn't underestimate the Zimbabweans. The match was tough. But for our keeper, we would have conceded some generous goals.

Is this a joke? I dont get it.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Zimbabwe: Walk-Over For Super Eagles? by Icon(m): 11:36am On Jan 27, 2006
That's true. let's not underestimate any team. They'll come prepared for us. If we don't play up to standard, we might not win. We might even lose...
Don't forget the Zimbabweans know that they are coming to meet with Nigeria. So they'll come with a lot of determination and motivation. And another thing, no team goes to any match prepared to lose. So let's be careful

@kechy
@bagoma
Didn't know ladies were interested in football. I guess that's a good thing.
