Our Nigerian football discussions and arguments for the past 12 calendar months culminates in each and every one of us making our opinion count as regards the best players in the Super Eagles shirt for 2018. Voting ends tomorrow. Have your say. Please can we put every other discussion in the back burner for now and promote this voting process. It’s still surprising to me that some of us who came here for football talk have been busy arguing feminism and politics but have failed to vote. We have guests visiting this thread regularly. We all have the collective responsibility of promoting the Super Eagles. Voting is open to all Nairalanders for that matter.

Sia1 didnt really help him, Solo was super talented and Sia1 explored it. His talent took him to the height he attained, not Sia1. He made the youth teams on merit and he delivered each time he was there. The only time Sia1 invited him bkus he was his boy, the media went berserk. Then Solo was with Aelsund of Norway.

There are some shits that went down, which I wouldn't wanna discuss here, buh, trust me, Solo would have been a bigger player. He had the talent and was always a delight to watch.
Solomon Okoronkwo was part of the Eguavoen's boys to the 2003 U17 WC in Norway. That class had Mikel Obi, Chinedu Ogbuke, Ezekiel Bala, Isaac Promise, Emmanuel Sarki amongst others.Solomon's performance at that U17 level earned him a look in by some foreign clubs. We was with Gabros International FC until 2005 when he went to Hertha Berlin. Solomon Okoronkwo was part of the Siasia's 2005 U20 but not a starter. John Owoeri and David Abuo were the first team wingers.
Just like most other former youth internationals Solomon's career did not progress well. Solomon was again also part of Siasia's Olympics team. Whether he merited it or not is not an issue here. But he was a confirmed Siasia's boy. When Siasia was made coach in 2011, again he invited Solomon Okoronkwo, Chibuzor Okonkwo and Isaac Promise (3 of His boys). This led to an outcry by the press. This trio were not national team materials and so the outcry was justifiable.

Solomon was Talented no doubt. But his career did not progress well and he should remain grateful to Siasia for the continued faith in him which made him feature for Nigeria at all the age grade levels: U17, U20, U23 and Super Eagles.

Guess who came around today....

The Sand Eagles have qualified for world cup in Paraguay
Congratulations to the Super Sand Eagles.

Recently I was in a taxi in Accra, just a fews days to the AWC final. The taxi driver said something that he knows Nigeria was going to win that Cup. I quickly said "Yes our players are better, bla-bla-bla. And he was calm for some seconds. And then he said, "not only that. Nigerians have a winning mentality. They always want to win every competition they took part in". He further said that "Ghanaians don't have that kind of spirit". I quickly recalled we beat them a few months back to lift the WAFU B U17 tournament. I quickly mentioned that. He said "you see?"

Naija dey try Sha at least we dey win titles. I hope the Super Sand Eagles will finish the job and come back home with the title. That is the Nigerian Spirit.

The only misgiving I've had concerning Ezenwa is his club inactivity. That's all. Which is hard to understand considering his heroics in the AFCON qualifying series.....

I don't think Uzoho would've performed better against the likes of Cameroon and Algeria.
Agreed. WCQ series you mean?

Ehen,I think ppu only complained and criticized him base on his lack of playing time in his club,wc dey wonder y he keeps getting call ups,wc I also share d same sentiment

But on d issue of "national team performance" I don't really knw d group who bashes ezenwa performance, maybe I will take note from now on

But on a general note, like I said earlier, both keepers give me same confidence during match play,I can't really c much difference btw dem.my opinion sha cool
I vividly remember when the issue of his height was brought up. Majority here do not believe in Ezenwa's abilities. I remember how despite his excellent performances at the CHAN up to the semis where he got injured and there were open celebrations here that he would miss the final so that Ajiboye can prove to Rohr that he was better than Ezenwa.

It was a joke na haba. But there was no difference between Kalu's curler and the one Henry scored in Liberia. We are talking about a very nice goal that won an all important match for us. Without that goal we might have gone on to lose on that day because so was the pressure.
Not my opinion, but 7 people's opinion. It was a fair process my brother.
