Kog45: Sir you are not getting my point and on Siasia lost out to Amokachie not a news to me how it happened.
If Siasia is not different from Ideye then i surrender with due respect.
The Siasia i watched from 1985 to 1993 was far better than Ideye and very insulting to say Siasia is not different from Ideye.
Did you know as at 1993 Siasia was the third all time Nigeria highest goal scorer behind Yekini and Segun Odegbami.
Pls go and watch Siasia intelligent goal against Argentina at US 94 or asked Westerhoff why he find it difficult to drop Siasia from his squad especially starting XI at US 94.
My man,my submission on Siasia does not warrant stories on how he failed to pass to Yekini but telling how good he was playing behind top 9.
I will not deceive you personally i rate Siasia i watched between 1983-1993 than Amokachie i watched from 1990-1998 as attacking player behind top striker.
My opinion and submission.
Siasia was such a versatile player that played as CF, SS, and number 10. If we had someone like Siasia in this current team, we would have been saying a different story about Russia 2018 today.
Mentioning Ideye and Siasia in the same sentence is an insult to football.
tbaba1234: Chico Ofoedu has joined Israeli club, Maccabi Haifa. Used to be one of the most talented players in the Nigerian league but he has been playing in the Turkish 2nd division.
Good or bad move?
Chikeluba Ofoedu, just like Chisom Chikatara, Jude Aneke, Egbuchulam, and others. Make name in the NPFL dash out of the country and disappear from the radar.
forgiveness: Sunderland’s Asoro prefers Nigeria to Sweden
by David Ngobua @Ngobuadavid
Joel Joshghene Asoro who plays for English Championship side, Sunderland has expressed readiness to switch allegiance from Sweden to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Although he has represented Sweden at the U-17 and U-20 level, the attacking midfielder’s parents are Nigerians and so he is eligible to play for the Super Eagles. A confidant of the player, who spoke to Daily Trust on condition of anonymity, said the youngster is willing to dump Sweden for Nigeria, if the Super Eagles coach would give him a chance.
He said the strong forward is ready to give the other strikers in the Super Eagles a fight for shirt in the team that will represent Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
“It is true that Joel has featured for Sweden at the junior levels but he is keen on playing for his fatherland. “Although he was born and brought up in Sweden, his parents are Nigerians and he is yet to feature for Sweden at the national level.
“Joel will bring attacking options to the national team so if I have access to the national team handlers, I would ask them to give the youngster a chance to fight for shirt in the Super Eagles.
“He said he is ready to come if invited. He is also ready to fight for shirt for the 2018 World Cup,” said the player’s associate.
Asoro signed for English side Sunderland in 2015 but made his professional debut on 21 August 2016, in the league against Middlesbrough.
The 18 year old, who has played 9 times for the Sweden U-21 side made his debut when he started in the 1-1 draw against Spain on 5 September 2016 and also scored the last goal in the team’s 3-0 victory over Estonia on 6 October 2016.
Or maybe he is no longer elligle for our youth teams.
It is high time the NFF organizes a friendly for young up coming talent like the one against Athletico Madrid. We need to see alot of these players perform first before flooding them into the Super Eagles.
charlesemeka85: it will be difficult because this youth team coaches have some players who they are projecting for a move abroad for their own personal and selfish interest
Which is why promoting an U17 coach along with his U17 players has never worked for us.
He brings in favoritism. He chooses to promote his U17 players at the expense of quality players out there.
We need a coach with an open mind that can select the best within that age category.
charlesemeka85: the best time to capture this kids is when they are yet to reach stardom. the nff should mandate our youth team coaches to add a certain quota of foreign born players in their teams to any tournament. imagine if we were fast enough to get ademola lookman, the kid would have been on of our breakout stars at the just concluded world cup
No need for Quota System.
At the U20 invite any player of Nigerian origin whether born home or abroad. Let the best be selected. No favoritism, no Quota system.
TheGoodJoe: I am so impressed with the way Brazil keeps churning out fine breed of players. In the recent World Cup, we had Willian, Coutinho, Neymar, Renato Augusto, Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, Marcelo, Douglas Costa and others in the squad.
With all the hype about the Real Madrid wonder kid, Vinicius, there is still RODRYGO who I feel is another special talent emerging from Brazil.
Amedino99: So just like that the world cup is going to end today
Yes na. And then serious countries start working towards Qatar 2022.
But we here in Africa will spend another one year battling FA crisis and then another one year playing with a care taker coach before finally signing a foreign coach to lead the team during the WCQ.
He comes in with a New philosophy and some new players who are mostly very young, in the name of building a team for the future.
The team manages to qualify but goes into the WC with the "inexperience team" or "Team for the Future" tag. With many players not played together before.
Next thing they struggle at the group stage with only one or at most two team teams from Africa qualifying for the second round and then both will crash out at that stage.
And we come home again and start battling another crisis with sacks here and there. And the cycle continues.
I don't think the set of players and football administrators that can win the WC from Africa have been born yet.
Petrobros: Mr English man, you cannot say "it does not tantamount to...". The right statement should be "It is not tantamount to...". English man wey no Sabi speak English.

DonFreshmoney: The MOD that posted this news, waka dere. I posted this info since yesterday on crime section, you never took it to FP. Stop being partial.
I know, u will want to ban me. But if u do, u really what I said u are.
Fighting all these is not even a guarantee to step out of poverty not to talk of indulging in them.
Wealth or success is like a pyramid. With poverty at the base and wealth on top. The higher you go up that pyramid the fewer the people there. The sad reality is majority are closer to the base of the pyramid.
