I have to comment here because this is deceptive.

There was no mandated MRI test by CAF or FIFA in 2009. Any test (If any) that might have been conducted was done by Nigeria alone with no independent party and hence subject to the Nigerian factor.

Currently, test results are monitored by CAF and FIFA experts because they are mandatory. In 2009, we only had random tests by CAF and FIFA meaning not every player was tested.

That you have to refer back to 2009 is testament to the success of mandatory MRI tests. We have not had any significant verifiable age scandal since.
This a very simple thing.

Nobody has said the MRI is 99.9% accurate.

But a system that has about 90% degree of certainty by any standard is very reliable.

Tagging all our players age cheats because of that 10% chance of failure is so so unanalitical, unfounded and biased.

Until proven otherwise the MRI is still the best means of checking age cheating.

Exactly, Fortune Chukwudi is the face of age cheat. He's the ultimate reference point. There is no age cheat except it is of Fortune Chukwudi magnitude.
By the way, do you know Fortune Chukwudi passed MRI scan in Nigeria and Qatar where the team camped? I bet you didn't know.

MRI is not conclusive. A 25yr old Fortune Chukwudi passed the test with flying colors twice (in Nigeria and Qatar).

Gerrit?
In 2009 random testing was done. Not all the players were tested.

So will any scientific procedure....even DNA tests or HIV test. The question is not if there is a degree of error but how much uncertainty you are willing to accept.

A standard deviation of 0.9 for a mean of 18.3 yrs means that if the MRI says you are 18.3 years old, then there is about 70% chance that your age is between 17.4 yrs and 19.2, 15% chance that you are older than 19.2 and 15% chance that you are younger than 17.4. If only 15 out of every 100 people tested will be older than 19.2 in this case, I will say that the MRI is doing a darn good job. I don't think an 85% grade is poor for the purposes of stopping age cheats in cadet football!
Thank you for this statistical break down my brother. Even me wey no be statistics teacher get the basic understanding of what that standard deviation value implies. Some people just like to argue everything.

The world cup "foreign coach curse" continues..

Belgium's loss means that the native coaches of France, England and Croatia will guarantee that only native coaches of national teams have won the world cup.

Yes, Siasia and Oliseh have had their issues, but I think the NFF should give both guys another chance at managing the Super Eagles after the Nations Cup.
Another chance for them to draw our football backwards?

We are still suffering from the mess they created.

Firstly, MRI is not conclusive and only indicative.

I didnt say that anybody is an age cheat just that unfortunately in Nigeria we do not have any way of ages being officially substantiated.

So on the flip side what irrefutable, infallible, unquestionable and undoubted evidence do you have to prove thier age.

Do youhuh
I believe I have made my points clear on this.

Well then, the last time I was in a statistics class was my first year in the University.

So how can you then be confusing percentage with Standard Deviation? And as a statistics teacher you should know Standard Deviation has no unit.

Nothing like standard deviation of 0.9%.

Those guys with white wrapper are already proven ritualists or cultists.

The Fulani man with an AK-47 is already a proven Killer.

The bottom line is if you do not have any proof or indications that a group of players are age cheats then you cannot label them as such.

I, for now, take the MRI thing seriously and will continue to defend the ages of Manu and Amuneke's boys because of the very high level of accuracy of the MRI. As a scientist I take to recognition any device with over 90% accuracy or efficiency.

So until, another theory comes up that the MRI is not as accurate as proposed after all, I will continue to believe in the accuracy of its results.

Please explain to me who a Sub Saharan African is. Algerian boys were part of the group sampled, therefore I cannot use the word "African" to make an argument against the integrity of the test.
Secondly, can you kindly explain why the FIFA research team sampled Asians, Caucasians, Latinos, Arabians but no negroid? Doesn't it look strange? Abi you're not the type who ask questions?
Because taking a critical look at the these variables and the number of Africans who failed the random test, one can speculate that FIFA knows the integrity of the test will come to question if negroids were sampled because the failure rate of the test would have upset the apple cart.
Again, calm down and read this carefully.

Even before I posted, you have already held the integrity of the test to 0.9 and never added SD to numerical value. Secondly, the second link I posted was to authenticate the ethnic groups sampled by the thesis of FIFA's medical assessment and research center.
I stated that I take recognition of any device or system that has over 90% accuracy or efficiency.

I couldnt have given you an SD value because I have not carried out an experiment on it that requires statistical analysis.

That SD of 0.9 is as contained in that article you posted.

And note that SD of 0.9 is not same thing as 90% accuracy. They are measuring 2 different statistical parameters.

The report clearly stated "in the ethnic group observed" which didn't include sub Saharan African. Since that time, 4 Ghanaian 15/16yr old boys have failed the test. Even a USA born 15yr old Nigerian boy have failed the test. Where does this peg your 0.9% near perfect claims?
And some little statistics lessons.

The SD of 0.9 Means Standard Deviation of 0.9 and not 0.9%

Standard Deviation as low as 0.9 only implies a high level of consistency of your result. It is not measured in percentage unit.

Besides it is not MY SD, it is the SD I got from the publication YOU posted.

I took out my time to study a bit on the subject (Mri wrist scan) over the past few days and from my observation, MRI scan cannot be used to determine a person's true age. Rather the wrist scan can tell an individual's skeletal maturity not his/her chronological age.
Scientifically, adolescents enter puberty at different times and grow at different rates that is why a 15yr old can fail the test and you can also find an individual above 17 passing the same test due to variations in growth rate which could be as a of environmental/ecological or hereditary factors.
Unfortunately, this part of the world is not scientifically driven. There's no baseline for growth rate that is standard to us. Even the thesis had kids sampled from Algeria, Switzerland, Malaysia and Argentina and non from Africa.
You can read the full thesis here:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2465138/
The MRI does not give you a chronological or absolute age, it gives you more of a relative age( age relative to bone fusion).

If you really read that publication you posted you find out where the standard deviation of the result was put at 0.9. That deviation, from a statistical point of view, is very low. And that gives more credence to the MRI analysis.

Read more:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/dear-fifa-there-is-no-scientific-test-to-prevent-age-fraud/
From the article average age of complete fusion is 18.3years.

Some kids less than 17 have already attained complete fussion while some attain this complete fusion at 18/19.
The system is not perfect but with a standard deviation put at as low as 0.9 then the system of analysis is very reliable. Period.

And therein lies the main problem of Nigeria; allocations. When you give someone money that they didn't work for they are most likely to mismanage it and spend it on frivolities but if they worked hard to get the money they are most likely to spend it wisely. What Nigeria has been doing for years has failed. You are giving people free money and you are wondering why they are not spending it wisely. huh
Until you get rid of this nonsense allocation, states and local govts would not have the incentive to succeed and you would keep rewarding bad behavior (stealing etc) and incompetence. Its like giving large sums of money to your child and wondering why they squandered it.
Stop Monthly allocation and you think you can live in your house peacefully.
