I think you don’t know.

Please, go back and check.
There is no point of any debate that would change the fact that Osimhen has been better than Aubameyang this calendar year.

If you are complain about hardship in this country, about barbaric attitude of our leaders and you still support Nigeria in any sport, then you never suffer.

Only government officials and their relative who are enjoying common wealth of this country that belongs to 200m people are the one that can support the useless country in anyway, just like they support one Nigeria, continuity of this fail jungle call Nigerian.

A country where citizens have no right, a country you be shot to death for ordinary gentleman protest with just placard.

MetalJigsaw:
Reasons Behind Super Eagles' Amazing Performance At World Cup Qualifiers
AdemetanAbayomi
Super Eagles' results at the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers isn't a surprise to their die hard supporters.

They have won their first two games and scored four goals in the process. That’l's an average of over two goals per game.

Nigeria being top is not a shock either, they have established themselves as one of the best teams behind Algeria in Africa.

What has been a revelation is how Super Eagles have gone about their excellent run in Group C. They have transformed to free-flowing, counter-attacking and dominant side under Gernot Rohr.

Players like William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina, Jamilu Collins and Shehu Abdullahi are not household names, but excellent building blocks.

Rohr's 4-2-3-1 has been used to solidify their position. It hasn't always attractive, but effective.

With Balogun, Semi Ajayi and Omeruo, they have experience and strength.

Kelechi Iheanacho is Nigeria's World Cup Qualification topscorer with two goals, followed by Victor Osimhen who has one.

Rohr has worked hard to regain the defensive strength of the Super Eagles. Each player knows his role and where he needs to be.

Playing 4-4-2 also suits all Rohr's options. Osimhen works hard for the team, is excellent at holding the ball up and can finish.

Moses Simon and Alex Iwobi play wide and love to cut inside, this gives space for Aina and Collins space to bomb forward from full-back. Wilfred Ndidi, a former right-back, loves to attack too, so you can have at least seven players willing to carry the counter-attack, that's too many options to try and stop when they are all in-sync.

Eagles have become the perfect blend of defensive solidity with a desire to attack. They have the movement and intelligence to play the possession game and keep the ball, but against bigger and supposedly, better teams, they will look to hit on the break.

One strength they have that many African teams don't, is options off the bench. Paul Onuachu, Terem Moffi, Ahmed Musa, Chidera Ejuke and Henry Onyekuru are capable players.

With the spirit and organisation that Rohr and the Eagles team have built, there’s no limit in what this group could achieve at the World Cup Qualifiers.
Hey! Hey! Don't forget we could easily have played a draw against Cape Verde if not for that own goal.

For me, I am still not pleased with their level of play especially considering the quality in that team. Not also ruling out the adverse effects of the quality of pitches in both games. They really need to build up their performance going into the final and round of qualifiers.

So the SE is the only one of the 4 WA Football powerhouses that haven't gotten to a WC Quarterfinals?

This should be the Qatar target for me. We've however been the best CAF reps at the Elite Showdown with 21points accrued in total, after overtaking Cameroon(19) with that Iceland win at 2018. So far so good, no other team seems eager to overtake that tally anytime soon. But thats the more reason we should be targeting a better finish.

Played 21
Won 6
Draw 3
Lost 13
Goals scored 23
Conceeded 30
GD -7

Nigeria and Cameroon(top two) have the worst lost record with 12 each. While Cameroon have the worst defence, conceeding a whooping 43.

Senegal(ranked 5th) are the only team from CAF with a +GD of +1. The rest are negative and Senegal also have the best loss record of 2.

Nigeria are the best attacking side with 23goals(only team with 20+ goals), and Cameroon are the worst defence with 43goals.

Best defence remains Senegal after 8games. But Ghana has 5losses after 12 games. Algeria have 13games and 13goals(one goal/game) with 12pts in total.

Projection for Qatar

Nigeria go there with a -7
Senegal go with +1
Algeria with -6
Morocco with -8
Egypt with -7
Civ with -1

Which CAF rep would change their GD record for the better after 3games+?

Will Nigeria better their KO record?

Will another loss occur at the group stages to make it 13losses?

Will the defence, team as a whole, be resolute and prefer to draw than conceed and lose?

Will Senegal have a better GD?

Will Egypt, Morocco, Algeria Change their world Cup fortunes for the better?

Which of the top team's attack would make Africa proud after 3games?

Which of the top teams defence would have the best showing?

Qatar comes.

I hope fortunes change for the better.
Bros, Cameroon is in Central Africa and not in West Africa.

Just catching cruise bro grin I said if it happens to be last games...now to the remaining games, bro u see that Libya 6points), there is no way they will allow Egypt over take them again na so them go play am till qualifiers end.
Then to Ghana group, don't underestimate an SA group lead ooo those guys can frustrate Giants and remain at the top the group, Ghana has jus shot themselves on d foot by allowing SA beat them, because SA coached by Hugo broos(Afcon winning coach 2017) will lock up at that top spot.
As for morrocco it's a 50-50 chance with them and Guinea ooo
For Libya/Egypt,: Egypt only needs to get 4pts from their double header to have a 2 points lead with 2 matches left. They can even get all 6points and open up a 4pt lead.

For Ghana/SA , the SA I know will slip against Ethiopia, forget they beat Ghana. And Ghana will beat SA in the reverse fixture. Zimbabwe will also play a role.

For Morocco/Guinea/Guinea-Bissau: Morocco have tough nuts to crack but with the kind of quality they have I think they will come out tops. The postponed Guinea vs Morocco game could have given us a little direction for this group.

Kingsley Michael is a very talented player. I never doubted his ability to deliver.

What is left now is for Rohr to prune down his crowd of defenders and give room for two more midfielders in the squad.

The squad depth in this team is beginning to show. We not only won bt were clearly the better team.

Maduka Okoye, hmm. I still don't know why Rohr made that kid his first choice. I don't know what he is building him towards but that guy lacks some basic rudiments of goal keeping. He looks like a type that easily can concede 4 when our opponents have 5 or 6 attempts at goal. Na U17 or U20 goalies dey concede that kind of goal.

Like someone earlier mentioned, village people follow those Cape Verde defenders come field. How can you explain two such defensive blunders in a crucial WC qualifier?

By the look of things we would probably qualify with the CAR double header.

Team cohesion is necessary not about having the best players in the world.
70-80% of this squad have been with Rohr at least in the last 3 years.....and have featured in starting 11s in various games and competitions. So, any player can easily fit into any absent player's Position. I don't see team cohesion as much of an issue here.

You must be very MAD! do you think this is 1980? You're playing an away game in an artificial turf with almost half of your first 11 unavailable and saying that a draw will be a bad result?? Personally, I believe that we should aspire and aim to win, but a draw is still acceptable considering the circumstances
Bros, please calm down with the harsh words. Someone doesn't agree with your view doesn't make him mad.

You have a valid point just like the other fellow.

For me, I think we still have enough quality to beat Cape Verde away despite the conditions you just highlighted. I know it won't be an easy game but I still believe we have the quality left to win that game.

The beauty of this team is that we probably have only 2 or 3 standout players. The others can offer almost as much as any first 11 chosen for a match day.

On paper I know this Cape Verde game away is potentially our most difficult in this group but it is also the opportunity to take a 5 point lead against the strongest opposition in the group.
Let's see the team and formation Rohr comes up with.

Even though I expect a win for us, a score draw will not totally be a bad result.

When someone steals in 9ja and is caught, instead of condemning the wrongdoing, we respond with is he the only one stealing? Why didn't they catch the other thieves?
In summary, that pitch is bad, QED. The other ones we have played on in recent times too are not good either, Asaba, Benin etc. Hopefully we can get at least 2 world class and well maintained pitches in Nigeria, is that too much to ask?

I am not saying it’s good but I am saying it is the same everywhere in Nigeria.
So why was Teslim Balogun selected? Why was it not taken to Abuja, Uyo or Akure since all the pitches are the same.

When it comes to national team (SE) matches the NFF should not be giving us a pitch that is the same as all the other pitches everywhere else. They should give us the best.

They are putting home games to our disadvantage if they cannot give us a pitch that can help our boys play to their full potential.

This is a qualifier where goals difference and head to head can come back to hunt you if you didn't properly utilize your home advantage.

Is this the much talked about Teslim Balogun pitch?

Are we going forward or backyard in this country? This is a great disservice to this SE team. How do they expect good football and goals from these lads?

Let nobody tell me that it rained. Does it not rain during EPL matches? Do we see pitches like this after it rains?

Look at even the analog NTA picture quality.
So if DSTV does not broadcast matches for us, the NTA cannot be a credible substitute?

Etim Esim was very good but not better than Okocha. Probably if he had maintained his discipline he could have achieved more. .
He was a number 10 but played then more like a today's number 10. IE was more attack minded than Okocha, was a direct player and also played with LoTs of Pace.
He peakedd at the age of 21/22 which was about the age Okocha was just taking off. Okocha was 21 at that 1994 WC even at that stage he was already better than Etim.

Okocha was a more gifted player than Etim.

On paper,u may say they r not that good,
But in reality n AFCON history, our best bet against Egypt is a draw.
A win is a bonus.
In Africa,u can never underate these teams:
Egypt,Cameroon,Nigeria,CIV,n Ghana,

These first 4 countries r more likely to win AFCON than Senegal,Algeria n Morroco.
Well said.

There are certain countries that irrespective of the type of team they present, they are always a tough nut to crack when it comes to the AFCON.Nigeria, Cameroon and Egypt always exceed expectations at the AFCON. And put together have won the AFCON the most in the last 30 years.

Another set: Senegal, CIV, Ghana, Morocco and Algeria (until last AFCON) would always parade an intimating squad but las-las they crumble when it matters most.
Teams like Mali and Tunisia may not parade the best of individual quality but would most times create some upsets and make semifinals.

Teams like Guinea and Burkina Faso, though not as talented as some of the West African giants, can shock any team in the AFCON, if underrated.

Coming up with my overall analysis of all the groups soon.....
