TheSuperNerd: Yes. But same could be said for Isaac Success too based on his crazy potentials too. But as you know already, things happen and what's important right now is that Nwakali is doing well currently again and perhaps could still realise a good portion of his high-yield potentials.
Same goes Isaac right now also. In Success and Osimhen we could have had two defense assassins by now. But things like that happen very often. That's why over the years, I have learnt not to put too much expectations on youth Talents, even the very obvious ones. |

TheSuperNerd: That I cannot deny. I like the lad but it's truly because I know the boy got high potentials and thankfully he is showing himself good at Alcocorn so far. Getting the gametime that Huesca didn't wanna give him and being used in tactical set-ups that bring out his strengths. If he keeps it up, lad will be another fine addition to the Super Eagles' midfield depth but until then... Make him continue. There is a reason why I always insisted that calls for a SE invite was too early for him when he was at Huesca in la Liga. He needs to keep showing this consistency. Kelechi Nwakali, considering his potentials, has really underachieved. That boy should be bossing the SE midfield by now. He should be up there with his class mates like Osimhen and Chukwueze. |

Danielnino00: Dont be surprised when u see all of them in the next list. our current CB options: Balogun Ekong Ajayi Omeruo Awaziem Akpogunma
Full back options:
Aina Sanusi Ebuehi Collins Shehu
Normally,we should have like 7/8 defenders on one list. But Rohr will call up 10..
The midfield needs attention too.. He usually does that with Ajayi and Shehu being potential midfield options. But that always robs of the opportunity of having more creative midfielders in the team. Rohr should have enough balls to drop some of those defenders and give room for more midfielders. |

An excellent display from the lads today. The once young squad is beginning to look my matured both in appearance and the way they play. My major worry was the lack of organization between Etebo - Ndidi and Sanusi-Iwobi-Iheanacho. But the team came back In the second half better and it was an all round excellent display. |

safarigirl: So, we had Okoye man the post against Benin, and Uzoho man the post against Lesotho, with both goalies keeping clean sheets.
First of all, I am glad we have risen from the ashes of Akpeyi and Ezenwa, but I would genuinely like to know what you guys think of both players and the possibility of rotation between them.
Bear in mind, when I say 'rotation', I don't mean the way Enyeama and Ejide were rotated, but something with a little more equity. I genuinely feel like Ejide was shortchanged a lot in the team, because of Enyeama's brilliance, so, while I acknowledge how much of a legend Vincent is, I do feel a bit for Ejide.
So guys, what's your take on the Maduka-Uzoho GK rotation? If you can include their performances in the last two games in your analysis, factor their strengths and weaknesses, it would also be appreciated.

PS: If anyone thinks this should be a standalone topic outside of this thread, also signify.
Thanks Firstly, i Welcome you back to the crew. Really missed that Safargirl's kind of view in discussions and argument. Well, for the two goalies, Rohr and his team have really done a good job in managing to groom these two goalies for Nigeria. Excellent that they both kept clean sheets, even though I owe it partly to they not really being much tested in both encounters. On the issue of their rotation, you cannot have equity if both goalies are in form and are available for selection. You must have a "number 1". The other would then serve as a backup. Goal keepers generally get better with Experience and age. And so it is better to identify the "number 1" and give him more of the game time. Take a major tournament like a WC or AFCON for instance you don't Present a different goalie for each game. The first choice goalie keeps goal for 70% to 100% of the matches in that tournament. So, it is normal for the first choice goalie to be more regular in goal than the second choice. |

charlesemeka85: Former England U21 skipper Nedum Onuoha has claimed that he did not turn down the opportunity to play for the Nigeria national teams, and has explained why he didn't accept a call-up to play for the Super Eagles fourteen years ago.
Born in Warri but raised in England, the Manchester City academy product was contacted by the Nigeria Football Federation in the weeks leading up to the 2010 World Cup but he shunned their advances.
Former Super Eagles manager Shuaibu Amodu also tried to persuade the dual-eligible center back to switch his allegiance from England to Nigeria in 2009 but was unsuccessful.
German manager Berti Vogts, who coached the Super Eagles 2007-2008, named Onuoha in his first provisional squad in 2007, only for the player to decline the invitation.
In an Instagram Live session with our colleagues Team Nigeria UK, Onuoha explained : "For the first five years of my career, I played for the U20s and U21s of England and the only time I got a call up for Nigeria in my career was from Berti Vogts when he was manager and this was in 2010.
"I got a call up from him saying he wanted me for the AFCON and at that time Roberto Mancini had just become manager at Man City and I was out of his plans and Berti was calling just before the turn of the year.
"This was the first time it happened that I wasn’t part of the first team. I didn’t want to leave and I was worried about leaving for AFCON and having nothing when I come back because people say this is a shop window, it raises your profile and for some people it’s not the case."
Onuoha revealed that he is proud of his Nigerian heritage and to buttress his point, the 34-year-old sensationally claimed that he never sang England's national team whilst on Young Lions duty.
"At the time I was 24 years old, this is what I’m thinking cause I was honest with Berti that I wanted to do it but it wasn’t just the right time.
"From that exact moment, nobody from Nigeria called me again and I was hearing from everywhere that I had turned Nigeria to beg for England.
" But if you look at it anything the media has said wasn’t true and to add to it I know my identity and I was honored to represent England but anytime I got to play for England I would never sing the anthem because I know my home is somewhere else.
"So I appreciated what I was doing and I was given because I’ve the British passport but I always have the green passport and playing for Nigeria is something I’ve always wanted to d," Onuoha concluded. Ogbeni goan sit down somewhere. Who you wan deceive with this crap. |

ChrisKels: I no get strength to argue, but you should know that no reasonable coach selects same kinda strikers, otherwise he will find it hard to vary or tweak his tactics at the heat of an encounter. That was what played out today. Now you are talking. And not forcing the coach to play to the strength of one striker. |

ChrisKels: Play to your strikers' strength, otherwise blame yourself when they fall short. Icon4s, I hope you saw what Paul did today, that he had the crosses he always craved for? Told you guys Rohr was the problem, not Paul, but you all kept bashing him. My friend, the national team does not play so many matches that a striker will only be waiting for crosses before he delivers. As a striker, there are games you need to boss your way through the defense to make the deference in a game. A good one from Paul anyways. He has just ensured his name stays within the national team. |

They have two quality young goalkeepers in the Serie B, in the Portuguese league, young Mouhamed Mbaye was Porto's second choice before he got injured, he even started a match, thankfully, he is back now, in that same Portuguese league, young Babacar Niasse is the first choice and regular starter for Tondela. When you go to ligue1, their U20 goal keeper Boubacar Fall that just joined St Ettienne few months ago, has already been promoted to the first team and made the third choice goal keeper of the club. Senegal get goal keepers yapa, and none of our goal keepers would make their 23 man squad, it is painful Yes, you are back at it again. Your in-laws' hype |

chidi1: Let's put this in perspective. Let's say you were a Nigerian foreign Super Eagles manager, vaguely acclimatized to the local nigerian league and its conspicuous poor management and political intricacies. In addition, let's just say this was not a dud game and your performance as a manager in this game determines your Job retaintion and future career prospect, would you in good judgement put your hopes in local league players when you have better proven alternatives with the foreign prospects. I have never been in support of keeping slots for local players. My own philosophy is get the best players irrespective of where they are based. If any particular NPFL player does enough to deserve a calling then give him that opportunity. |
