goldfish80: I have always been surprised how much people here over rated this guy. When I argued against the hype, some thought I was just anti foreign born. Thank goodness a fresh pair of eyes have come to terms with what I've been saying. How old is Tammy? Just 19. He is still up and coming. Calling for his inclusion into the Super Eagles is because of his potential to grow into a top striker. And not that we have found a new Yekini. The whole Swansea team has been poor of late. What of one of the Ayews that is there what gas he done of late? Young players often have this kind of rough patches at a point in time in their careers. While some come out of it stronger some other do not recover. Our own Alex Iwobi and Rashford also suffered such. Iheanacho and Success are currently experiencing that rough patch. Likewise Anthony Martial. It is nothing new bro. |

jihday: stop making enyeama look bad just to promote Uzoho. My brother, na the thing way we dey see here o. This is a thread where a player that is not tested is often concluded to be the best. Rubbishing Vincent Enyeama, Nigeria's all time best goalie for an untested Uzoho that has not played any competitive game. It is hard to believe people who call themselves sports analysts here can be writing all these with so much confidence. |

blueto: My point was that he wouldn't have conceded some of kind of goals that Enyeama conceded in the world cup, although he may not have saved the kind of balls that Enyeama saved. And I'm not saying that he is already better than enyeama, he may still need to prove that in subsequent matches.
The other point I made also was that it will not be a very good idea to start Enyeama against the same Messi led Argentine team in the world who appears to be well apprised of his weakness(es). Please how many of Uzoho's games have you watched to come about this kind of conclusion. Nigerians, we never learn. |

Moses not playing in this year' s AFCON is a major negative for him. You cannot be an African footballer of the year when you didn't take part in the AFCON while the other strong tenders did. |

The Flamingos drew 0-0 with Ethiopia in Benin City yesterday and qualified courtesy of their 1-1 away draw.
Meanwhile their next round opponent, Cameroon, beat Algeria 11-0 on aggregate (4-0 in Algeria, 7-0 in Cameroon) to book a meeting with Nigeria.
This got me thinking. Is it that the Ethiopians produced a very strong side or Nigeria has raised a very poor U17 team? Cos I didn't watch the game.
Secondly why have we always produced poor U17 teams at female levels. The falconets have always achieved far more than the Flamingos with 4 semi finals and two finals. While our best for the Flamingos is the quarter final.
Something is definitely not right.
We are going into that Cameroon encounter with the later as favorites.
We have never failed to qualify for any Female U17 or U20 WC. I hope this will not be the first. |

tbaba1234: What is the benefit of playing Egypt to our WC campaign??
What tactical lessons can we learn from playing Egypt? I mean lessons that will help us with our opponents? Egypt is one of those North African teams that play a style close to that of the Europeans. But have you also asked what it will benefit Egypt playing Nigeria? Besides if we expect to go far in the world cup we should expect to play against teams different from those we will play in our group. So we shouldn't just narrow our friendlies to a few group of teams. |

So England is welcome.

Mujtahida: It makes no sense in the context of our group opponents to play England. Moreover June is kinda close to the WC. Make I no hear say one player was injured in that match oo. How can you say it makes no sense playing England when there are two European oppositions in our group? These friendly preparations are not exactly like 1+1= 2. No two countries play exactly the same way. Even the Poland that we are playing for Croatia don't really play much like the Croats. It is because they have Senegal to play that they have quickly sealed the deal with Nigeria. The teams that play like Croatia most are their former Yugoslav neighbours like Serbia and Bosnia. Plus even Czech republic. All those talks of playing Denmark for Iceland doesn't hold much water because Denmark and Iceland do not really play alike. Playing any European opposition eg England for Iceland would be OK abeg. Besides if we qualify from that group we will LIKELY play either of France or Denmark which are also European oppositions. So bros the England friendly is not out of place. |

Icon79: The last time I checked, the population of Nigeria is over 3 times that of Egypt. And if you're to count only soccer loving people, you'd realize that we have about 10x more soccer loving people in Nigeria compared to Egypt. Hence, if it were so, I don't see how Mo Sallah can beat VicMo in such a popularity contest.
O pari Hahaha go back and check again. Nigeria's population is just about twice that of Egypt. And it may interest you to know that of the soccer loving people of Nigeria not up to 20% care about the national team and players. They only care when we are playing well in the World Cup. That is why safarigirl coined a name for them: "plastic fans". Go to Egypt, I don't think up to 5% of their football loving population care about European football. They may just only watch their players who are based in Europe. What they care mostly about are the Pharaohs, Zamalek, Al- Ahli, Ismaili, and the likes. If you think some of our Nigerian fans can vote a 100 times expect so or even more from those fanatic Egyptian fans. Mohamed Salah is like a god in Egypt. |

O pari Nothing wrong with the England friendly bro. At least we have secured Poland for Croatia. And we have already played Argentina for Argentina (no preparation pass that one). I understand the England friendly is in June so we still have one slot for friendly in March yet to be secured. |
