forgiveness: GOALKEEPER
Vincent Enyeama - Lilie; If he recend his decision to play for Nigeria, he is for sure my first choice.
Carl Ikeme - Wolves; He is currently the first choice in the absence of Enyeama and he has never for once made us miss Enyeama for now.
Dele Alampasu - Feirenese(on loan)
Jonathan Ligali - Montpelier; He is eligible to play for Nigeria.
David Nwokolor - HNK Rijeka There is no sincerity in ur list of you don't consider Emmanuel Daniel as part of our young goalie prospects. |

komekn: Icon4 Have you followed this Aluko properly this guy is more skilful than Iwobi forget where he is playing at Fulham.
If this guy is in the Eagles he will give us multiple dimensions and he can score. Forget his stats put him in Arsenal now and he will be hailed like the new Bergkamp.
Watch him, I have over a long period blighted by injury somewhat and being in carpenter teams with emphasis on endeavour not guile and trickery he has been limited.
But this new Manager at Fulham Slaves has got them playing slick, technical and effective football with Aluko central to thier resurgence.
Watched them live a few month ago at Blackburn and it was like watching Barcelona. Admittedly thier limited squad couldn't cope with a fired up Tottenham looking for revenge after two defeats. Fulham's left back is 16 years old tells you something about squad strength. Please remember to add 's' after the '4'. |

komekn: Put Iwobi in that carpenter strength and endeavour team and see how difficult it is to play triangles and 1/2s.
It's a lot easier to play tip tap with quality players around you. I have watched both recently and regularly and live as well.
I know the head of Rec. at Fulham and the reports about Aluko are just well great. Apart from what I have seen.
Please take an indepth look at him in his current resurgent form, you will be surprisingly impressed, he isn't fair weather either. I know a lot of these Chelsea, City and Arsenal type kids when the going gets tough they can't cut it.
I'm not saying Iwobi can't cut just that Aluko has been cutting it in all kinds of environments. That makes Aluko a suitable sub when things get tough In all honesty I would chose Iwobi over Aluko as an all round performer in that number 10 position. |

I saw him in full view all through when he played for Hull City. He is in the Championship now and so I have not watched much of him but his full seasons wilth Hull before they got relegated was enough for me to fully know Sone Aluko. He may have more dribbling skills but he does not not have the Iwobi's kind of ball control, he does not have Iwobi's ball passing ability, Iwobi also has an excellent eye for locating his players who are position. Aluko does a lot of dribbling yes but what is usually the success rates? Excellent ball control/first touch and excellent passing ability are better and easier ways to outwit ur opposition than laborious dribblings. |

komekn: My preference is for your first formation Aluko has a quite a bit more in my opinion as well as experience at the top level.
Iwobi is just coming in and yes lots of ability and potential but Aluko is a lot more experienced but with more scoring prowess and guile. That little bit extra that mental resilience that wins matches when the going gets tough. Iwobi brings more creativity and versatility. Yes I agree that Aluko is more experienced and may also be more resilient. But when the opposing defense gets tough and too hard to break-down a very creative number 10 like Iwobi is what you need. Talking about scoring abilities I would not just give it to Aluko. I know u came to ur conlusion abt his goals scoring prowess from that 2-2 draw against South Africa. But remember Iwobi opened scoring for Nigeria in this WC Qualifiers. |

otezu5: Zulte-Waregem Converts Eagles Defender Madu To Left Winger, Nominated For POTM Award
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/image-61.jpg
Super Eagles deputy left full back Kingsley Madu has been converted to a left winger by the coach of his Belgian side Zulte- Waregem, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Madu has failed to dislodge regular left back Brian Tomming Hamalainen since his move to the team in the summer, although he has replaced the Dane on several occasion.
Manager Frank Dury who rates the Nigerian highly had to devise a way of accommodating him in his team, hence the decision to push him upfront as a left winger.
The Nigerian scored a sublime goal from the new role in a recent friendly tie against Borussia Monchengladbach, a goal which according to many formed the basis of his nomination for the Club’s Player Of The Month Award.
Since joining the Belgian side from AS Trencin, Madu has made seven league appearances for the high flying team while he has played in all of their four games in the Cup, where he has a goal registered to his name.
owngoalnigeria.com/2017/02/18/zulte-waregem-converts-eagles-defender-madu-to-left-winger-nominated-for-potm-award/ I have always seen the guy as more of a winger than a LB. |

This proposed formation by owngoal.
I like the backline and midfield. It just reminded us that Leone Balogun also plays RB.
But how can they replace Victor Moses with Sone Aluko. Aluko can also play RWF but in that position he is not in same class as Victor Moses.
If we must try Aluko we should give him a short at the AM position and my suggested front line in this case would look like:
...................Iheanacho
Iwobi..............Aluko........V. Moses.
However, my preferred forwards line is still:
.............Iheanacho
Etebo.......Iwobi........V. Moses.
Good morning all.

komekn: I have known Tammy (Tega) since he was 15. I will be more candid he is not ready for the Eagles, he has got more to learn. Irrespective of goals in the championship he has more to learn, his repertoire of technique is limited. At National level those gaps will be exposed.
I actually think Solanke is ahead of him as a striker particularly where national team is concerned.
My preference for right back amongst all current candidates is Aina at Chelsea.
Ademola looks good but has more to learn he is not better than Etebo in my opinion. And again Ademola may be in Everton does not necessarily make him an immediate candidate for Eagles.
I do think the experienced Sone Aluko has a lot to offer. Great post. But mind how u mention the bolded o. Some1 fit give u kong-fu kick for that |

I was really suprised wit this month's own. I wasn't expecting such a leap. Though Sir. Icon4s n other elders have for seen t few days ago.
Thank God the Era of 1 step forward 30steps backward is gone... Our leap in FIFA Ranking did not come as a surprise to me. U knw it covers a 4 year period meaning that for our current ranking, February 2013 to February 2017 was considered. Recall we won the AFCON in Feb 2013 so all our previous bad results from 2012 and beyond have been forgiven us and erased. Hopefully we can only get better from here. |

Icon79: To be quite honest with you, I think Cameroun greatly overachieved at this AFCON. However, I agree with Joebie that it's better (safer?) to assume that they would improve that way we'll leave nothing to chance.
All in all, I will expect to see the same Cameroun that struggled against Zambia in the WC qualifiers.
O pari Nothing is certain my brother. You are right about their over-achievement and whether they will maintain that standard is what we can't tell. Nobody is saying the Cameroonians will not or cannot improve . They are African champions and we have to respect them for that. And we really have to put everything in place to defeat them . What I am against is dwarfing Nigeria before them. I dnt agree they have more quality than our team. |

The will study our strenghts and be cautions.. i've noticed that about european teams.. they respect us regardless. Respecting Cameroon does not mean losing confidence That is why I say I respect but not fear them. |

TheSuperNerd: By who exactly?? And I speak of that CMF role.... Not the no.10 role... Who can replace Mikel "super-comforably" (note the word "super" .
Kelechi Nwakali?? Alex Iwobi?? John Ogu?? Who?? .................. Our team is young and the only world class players I can point to are Mikel and...... Oops... Just Mikel.
Victor Moses' super form and class just began this season. He needs to repeat same for the next few years to become fully world class... But he does function like a world class player now BUT I CANNOT TERM HIM WORLD CLASS YET as much as I would love to to show our Super Eagles isn't a bunch of rag-tags...
In Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and even Isaac Success... We have potential world class players...
In Troost Ekong, we have a defender rated as one of the very best (the top 5-10) in scandinavian europe before he joined Gent...
In Wilfred Ndidi, we have a fast-rising super performer in the DMF role. A player who floored Pogba in the EPL when their teams clashed. Onazi should be scared....
Our team is "NOT THERE YET" (Cc: Sir Icon4s)
It's a whole new generation...
I am sure back in 1990 and 1992, you wouldn't have termed the likes of Yekini and Finidi as world class. See, I know this team is 'NOT THERE YET' but where are we are right now I can tell you we can defeat that Cameroonian team at least in Uyo. No be so we dey fear when we wan play Algeria? I am not underrating the Cameroonians I am just talking based on our abilities. If Icon4s (the conservatist) tells you this team is good enough then .... |

Even with the defense we put up against Algeria, I believe we will beat that Cameroonian team in Uyo. Idowu or no Idowu or Ebuehi. We just need our attacking midfielders to come to the party and the pressure will be on the Cameroonians. Get Iheanacho in good scoring positions and the Cameroonians will see wonders. We will unleash Etebo, Iwobi and Moses as AM/Wingers in that game and let me see whether that there defense will not crumble. Though I have not rated this team that highly but I still believe in their abilities. This team can get at least 3pt from that clash. |

We are still in the process of tidying things up in our backline. We only have two defenders. That's what you get when you at least have games to tinker the team. Nigeria is lacking in this. how do we make up for no matches to oil our rustiness? Rustiness? Will Cameroun continue playing every week till the WC qualifiers in August? We have a friendly in march and AFCON qualifiers in June just like Cameroun too. So which one bring rustiness on our own side? My view has remained that August is 6months away. That is a very long time for a lot to have changed. What matters most is the form of the teams as at the time the games are to be played. |

goldfish80: Well I can understand hating on your opponents or rivals but making biased and emotional laden comments in the name of analysis just to feel good about the prospect of beating them is just a manifestation of day dreaming which won't help anyone.
After their first match when Cameroun was first talked about, someone quoted me and said they were playing gburugburu football, whatever that means. Against Equatorial Guinea,, it was the same story, you even quoted me saying you won't take them serious until they they won the trophy, the usual naija big time Charlie pomposity. Against Gabon, It was oh.. Cameroun were rubbish, only their keeper came to the party. We are going to kill them in Uyo. Senegal came, someone even made a bet of 60k, they aren't going to make it past Senegal. The guy was just too sure the flashy Senegalese will nail the Camerounians, after the game everyone ate a very big humble pie. Then Ghana, I think Lexyman or some other person dared me to come online after the match. Ghana proved to be their easiest opponents. Against Egypt no one gave them a chance, even Icon4s yet they came from a goal down and won in normal time.
My dear, living in self delution won't help the Super Eagles beat Cameroun. Apart from TheSuperNerd, I have seen no other poster who have balanced view of the Camerounians. Its all about rantings and no substance. It was Guinea-Bissau and not Equatorial Guinea. As at the group stage and even quarter finals I can bet even you did not expect Cameroun to win the trophy. On paper and even as per performance as at quarter finals there were so many teams better than Cameroun. When people started taking Cameroun serious was after they ousted favorites Senegal. Cameroun even finished second behind Burkina Faso. You saw how they labored to beat Guinea-Bissau. Coming from a goal down at half time and scoring 2 late goals. No pundit, I repeat no pundit(even the Cameroonians) at that stage would tip such a Cameroonian team to win the trophy. Anything can happen in football. Cameroun won. Congrats to them. |
