Ah Ah!
I have watch Usman Mohammed, so I prefer him as a choice. You told me you have watched both closely and you said Etebo was better. I said I will watch Etebo and see if he is actually better.
You wanted me to say, I have not watched Etebo closely and I prefer him to one who I have watched closely? Are you telling me you did not see him even in that CAF U23 final against Algeria? Prior to that our discussion he had already won CAF most promising talent. Anyways, that is past. But I have made my point. Na your usual way be that. |

LOLS. Arguing how. Na wa. I had not watched much of Etebo and was impressed with Usman Mohammed's impact at the CHAN . I believe he is quality but you told me you prefer Etebo. You said you have watched Etebo closely and feel he is a better talent. I said I will watch and judge at Rio. Etebo did well. I feel Etebo is better now but that does not mean I do not see Usman as quality. I hope he sorts out his challenges.
That was not arguing but stating my preference. Na wa. You had not watched much of Etebo how? Etebo that featured prominently at the CAF U23 in December 2015 and emerged highest goals scorer. Even scoring a brace in that final against Algeria. That CHAN u are referring to took place in January, 2016 i.e a month after the CAF U23 and Nigeria only played 3 games as we crashed out at the group stage. So the exposure u got abt Usman in that CHAN was more than the one u got about Etebo at the CAF U23. See excuse. That your preference of Usman to Etebo was just ur normal way. Just like Oshaninwa over Echiejile. Usman was about the worst player in that Rio squad. |

terzurum5: Little Known Nigerian Forward Patrick Igwe On Target Again In Portugal, Wins MOTM Award
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/image-154.jpg
Little known Nigerian forward Patrick Igwe picked up from where he left off last year for Portuguese side Alcanenense scoring the lone goal that gave them all three points against Gafetense.
Igwe scored five goals in the first stanza of the third division league in Portugal to bring his goal tally this season to six, and in the process picked up his third Man of the Match award.
The 19 year old has been watched by several top teams in Portugal and beyond, and a transfer away from the team in the summer looks most likely.Plucked from Geelec Football Academy of Jos, the pacy forward is having his best season since moving to Portugal one year ago.”
I am focused on doing well for Alcanenense, I have people who handle the business area of mycareer, a move away from here is in their hands. Every footballer wants to play in a big league, amno different but am calm”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com when asked about speculations linking him with a summer move.

terzurum5: Exclusive: Portuguese Side Blocks Nigeria Rio 2016 Star From Joining Turkish Side
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-97.jpg
The proposed transfer of Nigeria Rio 2016 star Usman Muhammed to a Turkish side has been halted by Portuguese side Uniao da Madeira, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal. Muhammed played in all of Nigeria’s game at Rio2016 despite not playing a minute of club football following contractual issues with Uniao da Madeira.
He joined the Portuguese side from local Nigeria League side FC Taraba, but left the team in a cloud due to issues surrounding the payment of his transfer fees and wages.
Despite officially communicating to the club about his desire to cancel his contract with the team, they are yet to officially get back to him, which has now claimed his move to an unnamed Turkish side.”
Musa has been offered a contract by a team in Turkey but Uniao da Madeira are in the possession of his registration, and so far they have refused to release his ITC (International Transfer Certificate)”, a source close to the player told Owngoalnigeria.com.”
We are exploring all available means to cure the impasse, hopefully it will be resolved before the end of this current transfer window”.

terzurum5: Highly Rated Nigerian Teen Iduitua David Deba Takes The Spot Of Injured Etebo At CD Feirense, Listed For The First Time
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-101.jpg
The unfortunate injury picked up by Oghenekaro Etebo in CD Feirense last weekend game has opened the door for little known Nigerian forward Iduitua David to take his spot in the team.
Etebo is set to undergo another scan on the kneeinjury that lead to his substitution against Vitoria da Guimaraes last weekend in 15 days time, and his absence has helped David make the step up to the main team.
David was the star of the 2012 edition of Copa Coca-Cola International Football tournament in South Africa, where he captained the Nigerian team to the tournament.
Comfortable as a striker or behind the main striker he was for the first time listed on the bench by coach Nuno Manta Santos since joining the team last summer.
The 19 year old didn’t get to play as CD Feirense beat Estoril 1-0, but his inclusion in the team will no doubt spur him on to push for playing time especially in the absence of his fellow countryman, who plays same role.

terzurum5: Ndidi Suffers Another Embarrassing Defeat With Leicester City, Ranieri Ponders New Role For Him
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-39.jpg
Wilfred Ndidi had a slightly above average performance as English Champions Leicester City crash to yet another embarrassing defeat losing 3-0 to Southampton.
Ndidi’s first league appearance for the Foxes ended with a 3-0 defeat against Chelsea, although he helped Leicester City to a 2-1 win in his first game for the club against Everton in the FA Cup.
The Nigerian who twice foiled attempts by Southampton to score in the first half, started as the basement of a diamond shape midfield consisting of Danny Drinkwater and Nampalys Mendy.
However shortly after the game, manager Claudio Ranieri dropped a big hint about a change of role for the 20 year old in their subsequent games.”
We didn’t do enough in central defence to deal with Southampton, we could try other options in our next game. There are players who can play there like Ndidi during the second half of our game against Chelsea”, Ranieri said at the post match conference.

Remember, Guardiola had a discussion with Aguero and his agent. We do not know what it was about. What I think is that, Aguero was among those Guardiola wanted out of the team, along with Bony and Nasri. Either they change their lifestyle and style of play.
I feel in the discussion, Guardiola agreed to give Aguero a steady run of games to see if he would get back his form. Although, Aguero was not convincing. I see him getting another four games to find his old form back. Unfortunately, this means less game time for Iheanacho. It seems Sane and Gabriel Jesus will have a better time on the wings. With Navas clock running down and Nolito not producing the kind of pace the earlier two bring. You as a City fan, do you think it would be of the club's best interest to let Aguero go?. Forget about ur desire for Iheanacho to fill that position. |

Your last phrase sounds like a similar statement by Ndukka Ugbade. If Iheanacho was good enough, why is he not playing for City. That is like saying you expect Iwobi to keep Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero, Sterling and Nolito on the bench. Iheanacho is up against a monumental task. City coaches have opted for him over the likes of Dzeko, Jovetic and Bony.
Iheanacho is still the striker for City and behind one of the best finishers in the history of the English Premier League, Sergio Aguero. That is it. He is still young. Messi was one of the best in the World but he had a lot to learn from Guardiola. Guardiola saved his fragile career. Messi was lucky players like Guilly and Ronaldhino left the club. It made it easier for him. Same with CR7 joining Manchester United at the time David Beckham left Manchester United.
Iheanacho is already doing fine, giving him time to adjust to the system. A year or two is not his whole career. He will keep improving and remain a star for the National team. Please put 'hopefully' in front of that sentence. |

Your head dey their. Iheanacho should keep working hard at City. If we want to see that future 'world beater' tag that we have placed on him it should start from where he is now. Did Messi or Ronaldo go on any loan spell because of lack of game time when they were 20years olds. At 20 Messi was already running down defenses at the Spanish league and also at 20 Ronaldo was already making the heads in the EPL. Iheanacho has come of age. Going by our earlier expectations on the boy he should be a regular at City by now. cc: TheGoodJoe, TheSuperNerd. |

TheGoodJoe:
Why Iheanacho? Sterling blew I think three good chances. His pace and stamina helped for the three penalty calls but his misses is a problem. Gabriel Jesus came in for Sterling. That is also the position Nolito plays. He showed freshness (although he was running against tired legs) and tracked back with ease. That goal would have affected Sterling and Nolito. Not Iheanacho because Guardiola insists Gabriel Jesus is a wing forward.
He likes his wide players like Messi, Henry, Villa and Pedro having the ability to score goals. So if Pep plans to deploy him as a winger all along why have there been issues or concerns about Iheanacho's future game time. But one vital thing to note from his inclusion is his replacement of Ihenacho on the bench. Don't you think that is another pointer? |

terzurum5: Super Eagles Star Etebo Set For Another Scan On Injured Knee In 15 Days Time
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-70.jpg
Oghenekaro Etebo will undergo another scan on his injured knee in 15 days time according to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial staff.
Etebo underwent a scan but the extent of the damage to his left knee which caused him to be substituted against Vitoria Guimaraes was not determined.
The 21 year old was asked to rest the knee for 15 days before another round of scans, which will determine when he will return back to training for Portuguese side CD Feirense.
CD Feirense will also be without the services of central defender Paulo Monteiro aside the Nigerian for this weekend game against Estoril.

Kog45: U are on point, let him continue enjoying d drilling and lesson from Guardiola and player like Iwobi continue enjoying d playing time under Wenger.
The next 5 games w determined may be Nacho w be part of city next season coz not included, then is gone for good either loan or outright sale.
I know d young man is not happy right now coz when u are not injured and excluded from d main squad, then something is amiss, forget all this theories of drilling or developments without enough playing time.
One thing w should note is this, his present development is not good for his career at super eagles coz a lot of young players are knocking d door and Rohr have said it repeatedly that he want first team player,so Nacho cannot be exceptional even Mikel with all his experience went to china to get playing time.
I pray that Nacho find his way back to the team coz his talent is not for drilling or lesson under d guise of working under Guardiola. If Sterling is in Nacho shoe did anybody think England w be happy in d guise of developing under Guardiola.
My man good point from you coz you understand d game and your analytical on this issue is superb. Though I am not as passionate as TheGoodJoe is on this "nacho's" case. But I can tell you that Iheanacho has what it takes to remain relevant in that Mancity's attack. However, one major factor is if Pep can trust him well enough. To be candid, I was almost as shocked as TheGoodJoe and safarigirl would have been when Gabriel Jesus found the back of the net in the 2-2 draw. I was like "Iheanacho own don finish" . Thank God that goal was ruled offside, it was also good news for me as a Gunner . As you rightly stated, the next couple games would determine a lot. |

On Iheanacho's future at ManCity, lets see how things would play out for the rest of the season. I am not in support of any loan move yet.
Gabriel Jesus even on his debut had a very good game. But I have seen scenarios like that play out over and over again. Eg, Anthony Martial, came and dazzled in his first 3-4 games but blunted out later. Sane came and was wow on his first maybe 2-3 games and what next? he faded. His best game since after that start was in the 2-1 over Arsenal. Rashford broke into the Manu Team and was destroying defenses. What is the level of his game now compared to when he first broke in the United starting 11. Gray, the Leicester youngster, showed flashes of brilliance last season, but presently he has not really showed any major improvements even with the opportunity of game time in the absence of Mahrez and Slimani. Ademola Lookman just signed for Everton and scored on his debut, we dey watch. Now Gabriel Jesus.
Alex Iwobi remains top on my top rated youngsters in the EPL. He did not just leave up to expectations but exceeded expectation.
My Opinion is lets see how things would play out for Pep and his boys for the rest of the season, then we would consider a total transfer or loan spell for Iheanacho if need be. |

komekn: Depends on the player it is not universal with all players. Ronaldo and Bale with thier huge pay cheques and multiple income streams continue to develop.
However, with regard to Kelechi he can train all he likes he will need continous game time to reach the next level. He is not on the same level as Aguero, if he doesn't get enough game time I can see Iwobi developing at a faster rate and leaving him behind.
Nigeria will not be waiting for him to develop when there are new strikers knocking on the door. I can't agree more with the bolded statement. I have always hammered here that the development of young players is not like an Arithmetic progression. Some players develop faster than the others, some develop slowly and some regress. Not all talented and highly rated teen youngsters would live up to expectations. In fact, most do not meet up with the high expectations. You may call that a myth but that is an established fact! |

TheGoodJoe: Experience in my own context is having a long history in the team. A player with a two years or less experience is not an experienced player.
I do not see Iheanacho, Iwobi and Ekong as experienced Super Eagles players. Omeruo? Now that is an experienced Super Eagles player.
Amunike before that game, was not in the experienced bracket. Experience in my own context goes beyond national team level. It also covers club exposure. Based on your definition of two or less years it means some1 like Carl Ikeme is in-experienced. It seemly means we have not been seeing "experience" from the same angle. Experience by any simple definition means continuous exposure over a period of time. Two key words there stand out: "exposure" and "time". Taking Amuneke's case. He started playing for Concord FC in 1990 and Julius Berger in 1991 both Professional league sides. He represented Nigeria at the 1991 AAG (U23) and moved to Zamalek same year. He was invited to the Super Eagles in 1993, that AFCON you mentioned was in 1994 when he was even 24yrs old. With the level of exposure Amuneke had gotten during that period you cannot say he is green horn in football. Omeruo joined Chelsea in 2012 and was loaned out to ADO Den Haag same year. He started playing professional football ever since. Also he joined the Super Eagles in 2013. We can also say he is relatively more experienced player than most of his age-grade in the Super Eagles because of the long (time) exposure a both club and national level. If we get someone like Brian Idowu who started his professional career with FC Amkar Perm in 2010 how would u classify him? An experienced player or a green horn? But I can comfortable classify Tyrone Ebuehi as a relatively inexperience player or a green horn. In the case of Iwobi and Iheanacho, recall I highlighted two key words in the definition of experience: "EXPOSURE" and "TIME". These two have gotten so much exposure even within a short period of time. Just like also the case of Neymer. Iwobi and Iheanacho have played and even scored in the UEFA champions league. This is a situation where a player or players have acquired first class exposure over a short period of time. I never saw Odion Ighalo as a player that could solve our goals scoring problem because he never had a first class exposure even though he has been playing for quite some time. Recall I also mentioned here that Ighalo does not have the kind of experience to become Nigeria's next goals king. Apart from the exposure aspect, talent-wise he is not up there. Iheanacho and Alampasu played U17 together do you think Alampasu is as experienced as Iheanacho in the game? Has Alampasu kept for a Team in the Champions league? Has he faced Barcelona, Chelsea, Manu or Arsenal strikers? He is even playing for a 3rd division Portuguese league side. And as I always tell you, selection of out-field players especially forwards is way different from selecting a goal keeper especially for a win or burst game. |

TheGoodJoe: Amunike was not an experienced Super Eagles player when Westerhof played him against the Ivorians. Which Ivorians? Amuneke did not play that match. The only match Amuneke played was the final against Zambia. Amuneke joined the team in 1993 en-route qualification for that AFCON. You think he jst broke into the Team at that AFCON? Amuneke played U23 in 1991 and then moved to Zamalek of Egypt. His game level at that time was good enough for the national team. Just like comparing him with Etebo of today. And pls lets not divert the topic of discuss; it is on goal keepers. Selection criteria for goal keepers are way different from those of out-field players. A young talented forward for instance finds it a lot easier to fit into a team than a young talented goal keeper. |

TheGoodJoe: Mancini did not spend time selecting the best keeper for City. Camping and few preseason games was enough to make Joe Hart our number one over Shay Given who was an EPL great. Selecting a goal keeper for the league is different from selecting a keeper for the national team. There is still room for error and recovery in the league. They train regularly together and player several competitions. But for the national team where you know games are very limited, u barely have up to 4 days to train in camp and every point gained or lost counts, it takes a lot more trust to select a goalie. There is no room for wild risk taking. I don tell you to collect form for coaching u no hear. |
