forgiveness: I think I am beginning to panic because of too much in experience young talents against an experienced African team.
Rohr should not use only small boys for dat game oooo.
He should look for better player at the right back and use experienced players in the midfield and attack. I don't think inexperience is a problem here. The only player i might tag "not experienced enough for the position in a game of this magnitude" is if Musa Mohammed is started at the RB. For the players you may tag as inexperience: 1.Troost Ekong is not a new comer to the national team. He played under Keshi and also Oliseh, though he was not a first choice. Rio Olympics has really given his confidence level a great boost. I think he will cope well in Ndola. 2. Iwobi. My major cause for worry here is the Ndola pitch may not allow for much of those his sleek passes. However, the positive is he is a very intelligent player and very skillful on the ball.Where he cannot get a through pass to his team mate, he can dribble his way to his team mate . Alex has played a couple of games for the Super Eagles and never disappointed for once. I trust he won't disappoint in Ndola. 2. Iheanacho has settled down fast for his international career. Iheanacho is as bold as Lion on the pitch. No defender nor crowd can stop his ambitiousness. His style of play can also survive a bumpy pitch. 3.Simon has had a couple of games under Oliseh and Siasia. He has never disappointed. He is well suited for the Ndola battle. We need his kind of dribbling pace to destabilise the Zambian defense. The Zambians may have more eyes on Iheanacho, Iwobi and Musa while relatively unknown but deadly Simon would do the damage. 4. Shehu Abdulahi. He is my preferred RB choice. He is more matured and experienced than Musa Mohammed. He was at the 2014 CHAN under Keshi, though as a DMF. He featured in some friendlies under Keshi and Oliseh as RB and he played the Egypt double header of which he had a descent showing. We also saw him at Rio. Shehu can cope well in Ndola. 5. Musa Mohammed. This is my fear. I can't defend a decesion to start him. Some may say he has dazzling runs on the wings. His defensive capabilities, rather than dazzling runs, are more important for a game of this magnitude. Let the wingers do the runnings. Other youngies like Esiti and Ndidi are not likely to start. But i must point it out that for attacking positions talent beats experience. For instannce, I would chose Iheanacho's talents over Ideye's experience. I would chose Iwobi's and Simon's talents over Musa's experience. Where experience is needed more in the game are in the defense and Midfield. With Onazi and Mikel in the midfield we are good to go. |

justiz5: I did love Ideye to play the No.9 role. That does not mean Kelechi is not good at that position. Rather, Ideye's runs will take off the pressure from the shoulders of Nacho and may be A. Iwobi to express themselves. It will also create mores spaces at the opponent goal area for the duo to exploit.
Brown Ideye is strong, hard working and never gets tired. He contributes a lot to the team. So it's left for the Coach to decide any way. Well, I love the angle from which you look at it. But we also need a very clinical finisher. Chances may be very few in the game. Ideye has a very woeful goals scoring record in the national team for a striker. Well, thank God Salisu Yusuf is in the coaching crew. He knows those players better than Rohr. |

Mickael2: this could work as a diamond formation, with Onazi as the base, Iwobi and Simon at the flanks.and Mikel behind the two strikers, this is what I feel we are going to play with Nacho dropping into midfield when we lose position to make it a 4-5-1. not sure but worth a thought U mean some thing like this: .............Ideye Iwobi.....Mikel...Iheanacho. I know Mikel can deliver from that position. But who takes over the CMF position. And secondly Ideye to me is not good enough to spare head that attack. I have a fear: The Ndola pitch! Iwobi plays sleek passes and does not run much. That may not often work on a bumpy pitch. So we will also need a running winger like Ahmed Musa for us to still get balls across to our striker(s). Simon is also a running winger. I stick to my proposed formation: .........Iheanacho Simon...Iwobi...Musa |

lakesidepapa: With this Line up, then it shall be 4-2-3-1?
............Nacho Simon. Iwobi. Ideye
I stand to be corrected The forwards line may take this shape: ...........Iheanacho Simon....Iwobi....Musa (hmm..such a youthful forwards line with very pacey players) Ideye may come in if we need to switch to 4-4-2. He will partner with Iheanacho upfront. |

BascoVanVeli: Ideye has been carrying the Greek giants all year, i am sure he will be given the chance to lead the line. Is it the same Brown Aide Ideye or another? Abegi, i am not always moved by all these flash in the pan players. We have tried for Ideye abeg. After several recycling? On that day now, he will not even have one shot at goal. Iheanacho should lead the attack. |

goldfish80: So we should keep celebrating an age grade competition after 20 years because Neymar and Brazil celebrated it like a world cup? I hope Argentina are still celebrating their 2008 success and making songs and dance about it. Brazil will still be celebrating that win even in 20years time. Argentina are still celebrating their 2008 Success. England recently celebrated 50yrs after winning the world cup. Nigeria has long moved on from that Atlanta win but we will continue to celebrate it in years to come. FIFA even celebrated the 20th anniversary with us this year on the FIFA official website. No matter what you and some others here say about that victory, it cannot diminish it's magnitude in the heart of Nigerians that withnessed it. |

For now, there is a big space with an aging Fernandinho and Fernando not keeping up with the pace. Shocking but the City pivot role is open for a young prolific player.
If City beats Liverpool to Dahoud, Chidi can still get his chance from rotation. The space is there for Chidi. I hope they can sort his work permit issue. Well, it looks more likely that City will go shopping to fill that space. |

I used the word help. We can not depend on Fernandinho the whole season. We need more.
The first person I feel we must sign is Dahoud. He is a natural marathon runner. His coach tries to reduce his running on the pitch. Fernandinho will not last long because of his age and Dahoud will need another runner to help him.
Man City will buy more and promote more. Gundogan can also help in the deep role. I feel one or two is not enough. That is why Chidi is important to the team. Well, i wish Chidi well but I dnt see him breaking into the City's squad. Atleast not any time soon. |

It seems there is a way to work around the Work Permit challenge Chidi faces. What kept him out from the team is the work permit. City promoted Aleix Garcia and he played in the game against Bournemouth. With Chidi's work rate, I see him having a chance.
Guardiola made some scouting trips with Pere Guardiola, Nwakali's agent and Guardiola's brother. They are watching players together.
Celtic wanted to buy Nwakali and Guardiola refused. That is a sign Guardiola has interest in him. So you believe Chidiebere Nwakali is the solution to City's midfield challenges. |

Steven Gerald scored more goals for England than Beckham: 21 vs 17. Both never won the WC or Euros but Gerald captained a team that won the UEFA champions league. Beckham also won the UEFA champions league. But who is the bigger Legend and why? Do you even know what legendary is all about? "statistics is all that matters". |

That is why Guardiola refused to sell him. He has a high work rate and he is fast. Guardiola's system favors players that work hard on the pitch. If you watch Fernandinho, Kolarov and Fernando, they struggle to keep their stamina.
Dahoud is 20 years, about Chidi's age and he is already one of City's top target. We need runners like that. I noticed this from the Swansea game. I doubt Chidi Nwakali will eventually play for City. |

Even though Nacho did not score, he showed us what we expect in City in the next few months. With Sane, Nacho and Gundogan coming in, we got control of the game and got chances to score.
We are still in transition and very soon, younger players will feel almost every position. Now, I want Dahoud of Gladbach more than ever. The system needs tireless runners. Kolarov looks tired. Same with Fernandinho. They are working hard but I think they do not suit perfectly. I also hope we seal the Toni Kroos deal. We need someone who keep control at the back under pressure like Bravo. Bravo was composed all through and played his game.
Sad Chidi Nwakali is not here to help. His tiring runs would help the team a lot. I wonder what City are doing to sort his work permit issues. Chidi Nwakali? Help ke? Hmmmm.... |

Not only that, it undermines the sanity of the person of the person who made the initial comment and it isn't cool at all, it serves to portray you as having more knowledge than the other person which isn't always true, because I myself won't include Mikel in my top10 Nigerian players of all time, reason being that in the 80s, some local lads not only won us the nations cup, but also developed our local league massively, endearing the game of football to all our hearts, so great players of that era will come first, then Kanu and Okocha OBVIOUSLY, then you have to add our record goalscorer before anyone else, in fact , Enyeama comes before Mikel for me, by a mile, Enyeama has saved us more than I can imagine, and I can't seem to recall more than 5 games where Mikel has been our saviour at all Bros forget that 80s talk.
