forgiveness: Does Musa Mohammed statistics qualified him to be Nigeria's no 1 RB?
Does Ndidi statistics qualifies him to play at the RB for the first time in his whole career for the national team? I think I was one of those that first raised the alarm of starting Musa Mohammed against Zambia. If you read through the last 2 pages u'll see Rohr's explanation for starting Ndidi ahead of Shehu and Mohammed. All those names u are mentioning i dnt think they are part of the plans for the Algeria game. Either of Balogun and Omeruo would likely play RB in our next match. |

Iwobi played in the friendly against Cameroun Iwobi played thw away game against Swaziland at the first stage of the WCQ. Iwobi featured in the double header against Egypt. Notice that he struggled in those early games but thank God they were friendlies and weak WCQ opponents. See, one thing u must understand is the Super Eagles team has started taking shape. We have gone past that stage of all comers affair. |

TheGoodJoe:
When the report came out about Ndidi getting the pick because of aerial balls, was that not one of the things I said he did well yesterday? It is not bias.
If you read what you quoted, you will see I am talking of a possessive style being a good option. Not the main option or only option.
Goldfish80 made it clear that it is an option to consider. Nwobodo is a passing player. He can play wide and he can be part of a possessive style Super Eagles if the coach chooses to use it.
I do not see what I wrote as bias or sentiment. I also agree that Nwobodo is a bright talent. But you sopporting the guy that included Nwobodo to start in our next game is why i really made that comment. |

Remember the Omeruo and Balogun debate. I said I preferred Balogun and you chose Omeruo.
After the game yesterday, I said when fit, Omeruo is my best choice. That shows I do not base my judgment on sentiments but on performance. I never said I prefered Omeruo over Balogun. My point was Balogun being out of the game is nt much of a problem bc Omeruo is up to the task. |

forgiveness: And who is Iwobi replacement?
Now that Etebor got injured who is next?
Mikel Obi? so, Mikel Obi should be drafted to the second striker position?
Are there no better replacement?
What is the problem if Ajagun is called to play for his father's land?
He is even playing in a better league than Esiti, Ndidi, Onazi, Azubuike and Nosa. Sorry!
So, do you mean Ndidi and Musa are more experienced than those players mentioned? chisos!
I can see you speak from both sides of your mouth sir.
Now let compare and contrast.
Behold the profile of Musa Mohammed, the player sir Icon4s assume to be more experienced than Brain Idowu, Tyrone Ebuechi and Moses Odubanjo. I knew it! All that long write up was just to make a case for Ajagun. See, Musa Mohammed is not entirely a bad player. He has performed excellently well in the two games he has played for Nigeria. He is a player i can say is tested but not trusted. Musa Mohammed is no new comer as far as African football is concerned. Having played the U17 & U20 of which he was one of the outstanding performers. We all know the quality Musa Mohammed posses yet we cannot trust him to cope with the battle of Ndola. I repeat how much less Ebuechi, Idowu and co. As far as the national team set up and conditions are concerned Musa Mohammed is more experienced than those guys u mentioned. Mohammed has what it takes to be a great RB bt its just that "he is not there yet". As for replacement for Iwobi. You forget we have the highest abundance of players at the wings. V. Moses, Ahmed Musa, S. Moses, Imoh Ezekiel, Isaac Success, Karo Etebo. Any of these guys can easily be slotted into the wings position. Also Alex Iwobi can also easily play behind the CF. So if Iheanacho is injured Iwobi is there. Issue of Mikel replacing Iheanacho as a number 10. Did you not see Mikel play that position all through the Olympics. Do you also know at a point in that semi final against Germany Mikel was virtually playing a SS role as Etebo remained injured. Also note that Etebo does not only play as a SS, he plays as Wing Forward( Nig vs Japan in Rio) & as a number 10 (CAF U23). So oga, we have so many options in the wings and Central AM positions. |

zuchyblink: We cannot bank on Echiejile to stop Mahrez.Onazi can match him speed for speed, strenght for strenght and for the fact that Mahrez is a left footer and Onazi is a right footer,it will be easier for him to stop Mahrez. Etebor remains a beast in front of the post more than the over rated duo of Ideye and Ighalo. An attack of Ideye and Ighalo cannot defeat Zambia in Ndola if there is a rematch. The duo remains over rated Your formation is an attempt at destabilizing the team. So if Onazi hu is Right footed plays at LB, with what leg will he pull a cross? Left or Right? Bros leave Echiejile there. He just needs to cub unnecceaary adventures. Plus the Wing Forward and CB should provide him adequate support. Leave Onazi to continue the good work with Mikel in the Midfield. Etebo cannot start as our CF. Forget it. At least not in the next match. |

forgiveness: Although, I didn't have the opportunity to see the first half but I was able to see 40 minutes before the end of the second half.
I think we have dwelt much on the first eleven without considering their replacement in case of any eventuality.
First of all, I noticed the defence could not withstand countless waves of attacks. Especially from the wing backs.
It seems we depend too much on Mikel Obi and Onazi in the midfield.
I don't understand why our coaches don't like doing the right thing.
Why use a defender/defensive midfield as a wing back when we have Brain Idowu and Tyrone Ebuechi who plays regularly for their teams?
Moses Odubanjo and Ola Aina dey dere too but dem go wan squeeze dem players into the team.
I think it is high time we look for credible left back too. Elderson Echiejile seems to be another weak link at the back.
Taye Taiwo still plays better than all the players tested so far and he is the only left back playing regularly. But he must be tried in a friendly before the qualifiers.
Kenneth Otigba must be called.
Who can replace/substitute Iheanacho and Iwobi should be the next thing a reasonable coach should think of. You no dey tire with all those your names? On substitute for Iwobi and Iheanacho. Iwobi did nt play against Tanzania didn't we have a player in that position? For Iheanacho's substitute we have Etebo and even Mikel who can play the number 10 role. Just tell Rohr u want Ajagun to be invited and stop beating about the bush . For the RB in that game againat Zambia u expected us to play Ebuechi, Brian Idowu or Moses Odubajo? Musa Mohammed was tagged not experienced enough how much less all those names you keep rolling out. |

Depends on the coach and style of play. Yesterday, wing play let us down. We were dangerous keeping possession and passing the ball. With Nwobodo, we can stay organised in the middle and break the opposition with quick passing combinations. TheGoodJoe, i have always known you to be a fantastic analyst of the game. But the thing is when ever u love a player u sentimentally throw ur weight behind that player, disregarding all other factors that may come to play in terms of team selection and players performance. Note. Wobi and Nacho are out of this. Ighalo can be the arrow head for now. But post Russia 2018, I would love to have seen some one like Victor Osimhen as our arrow head. Isaac Success too should be given a shot while coping with likes of Ighalo, Ideye and Adi. |

I think Rohr is slowly building the team. He has his first picks. Makes few experiments. Like Musa Mohammed on the right and Ndidi today.
He is taking his time to assess his team. Like calling Agbo this time and Awaziem before. If he makes changes, he will do it slow and steady. I agree. He is building a team. We need to sort out that defense as quickly as possible and have a regular backline. Agbo and Awaziem were invited to replace injured players. Awaziem for Omeruo and Agbo for Balogun. It gave Rohr the opportunity to assess how ready Awaziem and Agbo are for senior team football. |

Simon Moses work rate was high. He put in a lot of running. I see him making the next starting line-up. On a better pitch he would cause more problems. Hell no. Simon has refused to graduate his game. He plays like Pius Ikedia and Manga Mohammed. He does not have good awareness of the positioning of his team mates. See that chance he blasted away in the first half after wringling through those 2 defenders. Rather than laying a simple pass to Ideye he blasted the ball. He makes blind runs and makes blind crosses. Did u not see how Iwobi played from the wings? Simon started today bc Success and Moses were not available. |

I think he is also a coach ready to change things. With the way he invited Egbuchulam and Obaje to camp. His decision to keep Musa Mohammed in the squad. His decision to call Success.
Ekong became a regular from the Olympics. He also knows we are still wasteful upfront. If Etebo can fill the midfield, he can use Iheanacho to help knock in goals.
The only problem I see are the sweet combinations of Mikel, Iheanacho and Iwobi. More like he is trying to stabilize things and not to change things. Did u fhink Egbuchulam and Obaje would make the starting line up? We seemed to have attained some level of stability in certain positions in the team. Inviting new players would be a bid for us to have near stability in other positions too. |

I am not expecting an immediate feature of Etebo. He was long out and will need time to break in. I do not see him staying away for too long. His work rate is amazing. He might not exchange the ball as sweetly as Iheanacho but he will help keep any defensive midfielder under pressure.
I see Etebo taking that place because of his work rate. Certainly he still has competition because Iheanacho combines sweetly with Iwobi and Mikel. U know the calibre of players he will have to come against. Rohr seems to be a "big players" coach. Iwobi, Iheanacho, Mikel, Onazi seem to have gotten hold of the Midfield and AM positions. Etebo would have a lot to prove to break into the starting 11. |
