TheSuperNerd: Honestly, I take back that small hope I held out for them thinking they might even clinch second. It seems they will achieve nothing yet again unless some magic happens in the next four matchdays with Daka, Sakala, and Mwepu all returning. But really, Zambia have blown it. All 3 played today's game. Infact Daka scored Zambia's only goal, an equalizer, after Billiat had earlier taken the lead for Zimbabwe. Infact Billiat scored the winner deep into the second half. Their chances are now very slim with the lose to Zimbabwe in Lusaka. |

forgiveness: Sadiq Umar seems to be the best option though he is not playing in a top league. Followed closely behind by Okereke based on club form. I don't think Rohr rates the Dutch league else Dessers should have been the number one bonafide option.
However, if Kelechi, Maja and Awoniyi who are in better leagues get to play and score goals consistently for one month, forget those bonafide options ever making the team ahead of them. In fact, Kelechi will be the first to regain his place in the national team ahead of everyone here due to..wetin we know but I don't know if there situation will ever change.
NB: Peter Olayinka is better on the LW. Sadiq Umar to me is not an upgrade from Paul Onuachu. Infact same reason I don't rate Onuachu applies for Sadiq. Considering the abundance of wingers who are mostly ahead of Olayinka i will consider fielding him in a striking position. Iheanacho, could come in handy if he can get more playing time either at Leicester or from a January move . Okereke comes next for me but I think he is still very much work in progress. Dessers well, also coming up but he is behind Okereke for me. The other strikers have not done enough (IMO) to be considered. |

Meliforme: Etebo's absence remains the reason for the manner at which we concede goals.
He is the missing link. He has improved a lot in his game. He should be ahead in the pecking order, followed closely by Ramon Azeez and then Aribo. Aribo is a decent player no doubt.
Omeruo and Balogun are still our best defenders. They bring a lot of maturity and stability. Etebo and Azeez ahead of Aribo?......... |

forgiveness: Very impressive scoreline though it could have been more than that due to missed chances. However, the team still lacks in some certain areas. Especially, the wing backs, where we were exposed several times and conceded the first goal from the right back.
Aina should be moved back to his natural position while we look at Chima Okoroji for redemption at the LB. Pending the time we try him, Idowu should be allowed to play on the LB. He is better than Collins both defensively and offensively.
Rohr should also look for a back up for Aina and Oshimen. I suggest Kingsley Ehizibue be given a look at. He seems to attacking minded than Ebuehi. I have not written off Ebuehi oooo.
On the other hand, we need a better back up for Oshimen. We don't need to realize or start looking for one during crises.
Moreover, Iwobi's position needs a better player. |

tbaba1234: Nigeria changed formation at half time to 3 5 2.. Simon versatility made that kind of switch easy. Simon, i know functions well as a WB but his final decision making at the advanced part of the pitch has not improved from year to year. His development seems to have stagnated. |

Joebie: That's the same guy who delivered that beautiful pass to Aribo to convert against Brazil. Aribo also seemed off today. I won't comment after just one match. Moses Simon is still needed in the team. But he has to prove his continuous invites after he is subjected to more competition. For me, our best two wingers are the two Samuels( Kalu and Chukwueze). Simon should be starting from the bench. |

TheSuperNerd: Josh Maja is no upgrade on Awoniyi.
Alhassan Yusuf- Was available. Imama failed here.
David Okereke- Might not even stay still the 19th.
Ejuke Chidera - Reports say he was stopped by his club.
Kingsley Michael- Another who can come in but won't stay till D-Day.
Igho Ogbu- Not better than Ozornwafor or and maybe on par with or slightly better than Olisa Ndah.
Onyekuru- Was available. Imama failed here too. I am sure Henry would not have minded jumping at the opportunity to help the U-23s knowing Rohr would be monitoring things too.
Zaidu Sanusi- His availability was not gonna be certain till D-Day and not certain he will do better than Bitok Stephen. Jury out on him there.
In all, Imama could have called up a couple more (better) quality players but he failed to do that. In all, "some" of the players (on the 21-man list) were selected based on absolute availability. I couldn't have agreed more....... |

4. AIG07 - Where is he too? Last seen is a month gap between himself and terzurum5. Never come across his moniker too.
5. TheGoodJoe - Yeah. Not too conspicuously missing though but no longer a regular. Once saw him reading as a ghost reader
6. groundnutoil - Never read from him before but twice caught him peeping from the background without commenting
7. maputohq - Never come across the moniker before and Interestingly, his last seen is just yesterday.
8. Nobody - A deactivated account. So no comment more than that.
9. blueto - Nothing note Worthy to be revealed
10. karlovich - Never ever come across it. last seen is July 24th! Way way back! What happened? where are you?
11. TheSuperNerd - Same card as Icon4s. He even took permission for his absenteeism yesterday.
12. CFCman - same as blueto
13. achimotan - Never before but still alive on Nairaland
14. robosky02 - Never seen it here too but somewhere else - Other threads sometime in the past.
15. daveP - Never before today and last seen is today's early hours.
Ladies and gentlemen, Those are the monikers I came across on the first 2 pages of this thread while noting that a greater number of other monikers with superb personalities have also been discovered too numerous to mention right from my first day in here.
However, In order not to spam your various mentions, I would jettison the listing accordingly.
Guys, I wanna say,
Thanks for accepting me as I am haven given me a sense of belonging already as part of the family of a patriotic Nigerian Football loving community on Nairaland - An online social media forum that originated from NIGERIA. Ow.... this man. Well done once again. But that list is not complete o. Well u said first two pages. If you read on you will see the other major players. But they later hooked up with the NTA telecast and funny enough, the AIT that hooked NTA was showing a faster motion ahead of the same match being shown by the NTA PORTHACOURT on NIGCOMSAT ooo with even a clearer voice note.
It was very very funny to be honest with you in truth
Sorry too to Simiife Thanks bro. These are some of the kind of issues we face because of patriotism. The kind of things we go through to watch naija match Out there majority of Nigerians never knew any such thing happened. Some didn't even border since after they didn't see it on Super Sports. |

simiife: The painful part is that after all the criticism they got yesterday, noting will still change What a show of shame. It is so so sad and disgraceful. We had looked away from the NTA for so long only for us to realize yesterday that the station had deteriorated to this state. Even look at the studios and the analysts there. Even the least person on this thread understands football more than both of them put together. The commentors were such a joke. Don't they watch commentaries on foreign stations? And don't think it is only NTA o same goes for AIT. A bunch of people who parade themselves as sports journalists yet know nothing about sports. There is something fundamentally wrong with this country. Mediocrity every where! If it is under a sane clime the minister of communication could have dished our quarries by this morning Well, let me not be forced to call Nigeria a useless country |

simiife: Hmm,whosoever did dis to Nigeria, my God wee judge you,I don't want to know the kind of power you are using, the God I serve wee judge you *wipes tears*
After trekking the entire duration of the first half, looking for viewing center to watch the match, I couldn't find any,it was then those idiots decided to give us electricity.I went home since I had read earlier that AIT will show the match.
I got home, switched on the TV,tuned in to AIT,then I started seeing something that looks like kogi state election campaign,i decided to watch like that, due to the love I have Nigeria.
I settled on the couch, grabbed the remote and increased the volume, the commentary sounded the exact way my principal usually sound whenever he's telling those jargons tells us every morning during assembly, I felt pain watching that match.
We have a long way to go in Nigeria *wipes tears again*
Commentator: Super eagles 2,Nigeria 1 Sebi i said it yesterday that AIT will just go and be showing Kogi election campaign. My own experience: I arrived home at 5:10pm. I was still in the car when I gave instructions that the gen should be switched on. I quickly switched on the TV and decoder while I went to search for an old antenna. I finally found one in the store . I plugged the thing o and started looking for local AIT . Na so I dey stretch hand with the antenna o to get the best signal quality. I no see AIT o . I say make I check DSTV maybe Dem don settle their issues with CAF I checked all the Supper Sports channels plus NTA, AIT, LTV, MITV . Nothing. Na so I come say make i even check update on nairaland na so I see Nigeria 0: Benin 1. By this time it was 30mins gone already. I just saw one post from one guy that said "it is on NTA 24News or something. Na so I pick decoder remote begin look for am. And this NTA come go dey at the back, long after CNN and Aj-Jazeera I finally got there o. By this time na like 33mins gone. Na so person begin follow that yeye coverage |
