So anything still fit happen as d tournament progress Yet they got to the final. The Saudi 89 set after winning their first game against the Saudis lost 1-0 in the second game to as at then lowly rated Portuguese team only to snatch a second half equalizer against Czechoslovakia to book a place in the Q/Final with our today's equivalent of 4pts. (A win was 2pts then). Nigeria still got to the final and Portugal turned out eventual winners. |

Ofoborh is class though he doesn't have an athletic physique. Boy can ball, he is full of brains. I wonder why nobody has said anything about how Igho was messed up in the build up to the Ukrainian goal. |

Humility017: this you don't change a winning team is outdated please.
are you gonna compare the US and Qatar...everyone knows even the second 11 will whip teams like Qatar,Tahiti and Honduras etc...it is a know fact
for the fact a team wins a match does not mean the tape should not be re-watched and necessary changes should not be made prior the next march... Nothing like that. As long as national team competitions are concerned, coaches most often stick with same line up after a good win in their first game. Changes may actually be due to injury or suspension. Club football is different from national team football. Assuming for the US game he made changes to the team that played Qatar, same peeps would ask "why change a winning team?'' |

Taliban: You are correct, should the guy be drafted straight to the SE based on the potentials and showings you have seen so far. Great stats you reeled out there. From what I have seen so far I don't think any player there deserves a straight call up to the Super Eagles yet. Some may progress to the U23 though. |

soetanoreoluwa: I have a question why is the coach changing his formation? He set up an attacking 4-3-3 against Qatar then hired a video matched reader for USA then set a defensive 4-2-3-1 formation which made him loss ,today again he set up another defensive 4-1-4-1 formation. What happened to his formation that won 4nill for him? The strength of the 3 oppositions vary. He knew he needed to score as many as possible goals against Qatar which was why he went for a kill with 4-3-3. The US has a very good Midfield and they retain possession a lot so a 4-2-3-1 which is a variant if 4-5-1 will have more men in the Midfield to contest the ball. As for the Ukraine game the set up I saw more of 4-3-3 and not 4-1-4-1. I knew the Ukraine game would be easier than the US game: (1) they were already through and would want to rest payers (2) they are not a ball possessing side like the USA so our boys will see plenty of the balls. |

tbaba1234: That is what i was told but he was fine for the other game against USA. I am starting to doubt that fittness claim.
And Ofoborh was kept on the bench by Jamil... Ofoborh is clearly far better than Jamil. The gulf in class is too obvious. Even if Ogbu was fit ahead of the USA game, players selection 101 says u don't change a winning team. Especially as the team won by 4:0. There is that tendency to start same defense line especially as they kept a clean sheet. Moreso, as he was just coming back from injury. If Ogbu had played that US game and we lost by that 2:0 he would probably had been dropped for this game. |

andrew444: Agreed
I forget New Zealand is also there
North America self worst North America that there are only two true footballing nations will be sending same number of teams as S/America and Africa. Imagine Brazil didn't qualify and the S/American teams are likely to make second round while 3 from Africa are making it. Meanwhile only 1 out of 4 North American teams are likely to make second round. FIFA needs to take off one slot each from Oceania, North America and Asia. |

tbaba1234: It is crminal that Aigbogun left Ofoborh and Ogbu on the bench.. Absolutely criminal.
They are far better than the alternatives.. These are the things that raise questions. The class of Ofoborh and Ogbu was clear. If not for injury, we might not have seen Ofoborh.
How is Tijani a player?? Very very poor. More important question, how is he a starter??
Aigbogun is either poor in judgement, blind or compromised in his player selection But when we raised questions here about Ogbu u were the one who told us he failed a late fitness test. So Aigbogun should have fielded an unfit player? As for Ofoborh it is very obvious Dele-Bashiru is rated ahead of him. So how is Aigbogun now a criminal? |

But as for the North Americans ,Africans are far ahead of them Not true, Tahiti is in same continent with New Zealand and that is Oceania. That continent has no business producing 2 representatives when Africa and S/America have 4 each. Also one slot should be taken away from North America. |

NIGERIA HAS QUALIFIED
How?
Nigeria are ahead of 2 other teams who have finished 3rd thus far.
Poland 4pts +3GD Nigeria 4pts +2GD Ecuador 4pts -1GD Norway 3pts +8GD.
We have 2 more teams to join the List of 3rd placed teams. We are definitely finishing among the best 4 third placed teams. No permutations can change that. |

Nigeria is in a big trouble.
Now we need to play at least a draw against Ukraine to increase our chances. |

te author=realpoacher post=78812793]Its annoying to see that our rant here amounts to nothing, yet we go on and on and on arguing daily about everything bad concerning our football. I think is better we find a way of getting our thoughts and discussion over to the NFF somehow. Its either we further our discussion on the NFF Twitter page or do something else. We screamed to high heavens during the AYC about these Grandpas yet Mr Paul flew them over to Poland. We have been screaming loud here and tracking most of our Foreign boys here yet they keep getting ignored while their resident countries snap them up. We on this thread have to do something, anything somehow. Our suggestions, our cry, our comments must be heard. If the lazy NFF have to follow this thread as scouting ground for our boys overseas, I don't care. Cc tbaba, icons, christkels, thegoodjoe, andrew44, junnyjake, forgiveness, komekn, Bascovanveli, Humility, etc you guys have to spearhead this one way or another I am tired of empty ramblings without end product [/quote]Bros, posts and activities from this forum go farther than where you think.
