Thank you, my dear. I laugh each time I see naija people trying to put themselves in other people's marriage.
Only the TWO people involved (along with their God) know what's going on their marriage! Hence, it's best to keep yourself out of it. And if you must intervene, ensure that you hear BOTH sides of the story!!
O pari
alignacademy: Did your dad tell you all this or are you just biased against the guy?
Your parents know themselves more than you can ever know, so be careful. You don't know enough to be a fair judge.
By the way, have you considered that some people can be very good at playing the victim?
Obviously, you're of Sunday Oliseh's school of thoughts: playing in the main league automatically makes you better than those who are playing in the lower division, but I am not buying that. I believe that our best players should be playing for us regardless of where they are fond.
From Reuben Agbola down to Shehu Abbdullahi, we have found some hidden gems in the Super Eagles, who were not luck enough to be playing in the so called top teams or top divisions. Anyway, my bottom line is our best players should be playing for us regardless of where they are found ... even if they are home-based or playing for other African clubsides.
O pari
Kog45: My man where player plays determine a lot though we might have some players showing class in lower league but generally it's better for national team to have their players in good leagues like LA liga,EPL,Bundesliga.Pls how many Shehu do we have out there making national team, honestly national team made Shehu not his club.
I wasn't trying to write off Alampasu or anything, but what I can't understand is why he tends to be on everyone's list. Fact is, he has been invited several times but hasn't demonstrated that he's any better than Ezenwa or Akpeyi. And in addition, he isn't even playing at his club either. So on what basis is everyone counting on him as the one we've been waiting for? On the basis of what he did at U-17 (or was it U21) levels?
O pari
Kog45: What do you mean by Rohr had given him chances upon chances cos have never see him in goal,if that's the case, pls what is Uche Agbo doing in the team.
Uzoho should thank his star for getting his invitation during friendly or do you think Rohr would use Uzoho during WC qualifying.
Yup. Playing in the main team is definitely better than playing in the B team. However, if I have to chose between someone who's playing day in day out in the B team versus someone who's clubless (Enyeama) or someone who hasn't played any competitive match in ages (Alampasu), the choice would be clear. That's the point I was trying to make.
And my second point is, we need to stop writing folks off based solely on what division they play. We have some championship players who are better than the players playing in the EPL. There may be many reasons (including bad agents, luck etc) why someone may be playing in the lower division despite his skillsets. Hence, I don't care what league or division you play in, as long as you demonstrate quality with the Super Eagles that person should be in contention.
When it comes to the national team, my biggest consideration is that someone ought to be actively playing in his football club. There's something we called "match sharpness" .... you only acquire match sharpness through playing matches.
O pari
Kog45: Good point, not good to consider a clubless keeper over active keeper but the question is how did Uzoho got Eagles invitation?he got the invitation based on his two la liga games not as team B player.
Uzoho is good no doubt watching Argentina match he showed a lot of promises which is good for the team but mind you his development can only be harness in his club main team not team B.I bet it with you if not for his two games in LA liga Rohr would not have called him,so he need to work his way back to the main team to boost his confidence and development.
Hope you see rapid development in Awaziem games after leaving Porto team B to Nantes main team. There is wide difference between main team and team B and not good for super eagles to have keepers keeping in team B,we still have six months to WC,so anything can happen considering our goalkeepers.
Uzoho i saw against Argentina deserves to be in the main team, also Alampasu need to keep on pushing harder,Ajiboye too should slug it out with Ezenwa during CHAN cos Akpeyi and Ezenwa no go area for me
Alampasu shouldn't even be in the discussion these days, because Rohr had given him chances upon chances but still hasn't proven that he's equal to the task. If Rohr didn't use him in the qualifiers, how in the world would he use him during the world cup proper? I think it's time to forget about Alampasu and give other goalkeepers a chance to stake their claims.
O pari
safarigirl: Alampasu does not play...he dey siddon for bench in a higher league
So you'd rather take a clubless Enyeama to the World Cup than Uzoho who is playing day in day out? Why? Because Uzoho is young or because he plays in the lower division? Do you guys think that playing in the lower division means that he isn't good? The Uzoho I saw against the Argies, granted that it was only for 45 mins, strikes me as a decent goalkeeper. He's definitely better than Ezenwa and a lot better than Akpeyi.
And by the way, before you start calling for a clubless player to be our #1 goalkeeper at the world cup, remember what happened to us in France '98 World Cup. It was this sort of an outcry that made the coach to recall a clubless Peter Rufia .... because we felt that all the keepers in the camp were too young and too inexperienced.
O pari
Icon4s: I would rather take Ezenwa as first choice rather than Uzoho.
Enyeama should not be included in anyone reckoning until he finds a clubs in January. Rohr is not willing to take a clubless player to the World Cup.
O pari
Kog45: Initially am always thinking of Enyeama but for now i don't take him into consideration cos he has retired from Eagles until he said am available again but for now i will have Uzoho and Ajiboye in my team but Uzoho need to fight for his place in the main team and Ajiboye need to displace Ezenwa in CHAN to showcase what he can do and also his performance in CAF champions league will boosts his chances.
Nigeria may be slightly different from the other sub Saharan African teams. As in our case we do a lot of ticki-tacka and the ball does the running for us and not the other way round.
Watch how typical Senegalese, Ivorian, Malian, Ghanaian and Cameroonian sides play. They do a lot of running and are also physical with it. Jam body football.
Presidency NigeriaVerified account @NGRPresident 26m26 minutes ago More The claim by former Vice President @atiku, in an interview published today, that "for about 15 years, Buhari could not enter America on account of religious considerations" is FALSE.
At no time was President @MBuhari ever forbidden from entering any country in the world.
One thing I like about this Gernot Rohr's team is their ruthless efficiency. Against Argentina, we had only 36% of possession but we won the game 4-2.
O pari
Dedebanky85: Best comment. We think the niggas playing care about 1st or second position. They just wanna get outta the group and from there anything can happen. What if Denmark tops group C? In 2013 Nations cup, We all felt sad coming 2nd to play CIV, the rest they say is history. Knockout games are very different from group games and little things like 1st to score can decisively define the outcome for the rest of the game. I bet everyone forgot Emenike scored vs France in 2014. If that goal had mistakenly stood, believe me, that game could have been very different for france. I don't fear any foe in knockout rounds. My own is just sha qualify.
Bro, some of them are so obviously biased that it makes my blood boil. Someone like Ian Darke for instance didn't even pick any African country to come out of any of the groups. Not even Egypt and Senegal! Practically everyone on the panel predicted Senegal to top their group, with majority forecasting Egypt and Nigeria to come thru as well but not Ian Darke!
But I really like that Italian journo sha. He actually forecasted that France vs Nigeria is going to be an interesting game. He said that he wouldn't be surprised if Nigeria wins that game. And he also predicted Morocco to upset Portugal in group B
O pari
junnyjake: You seem to be bothered by what those pundits are saying about our chances of making it out.
This would surely work in our favor, the players won't be complacent, they would realize how hard they need to work to prove all doubters wrong.
Guys there's nothing to fear about this Croatia national team. I think we'll beat them easy. This is NOT the 1998 Croatia national team. This current team has big names but they were so piss poor that they needed a playoff to qualify for the World Cup. And they were so poor that they have to fire their coach before the Euro playoff. Hence, the new coach, even if he's good, won't have enough time to actually knows his best team before the World Cup proper. So if you ask me, the World Cup is coming 6 months too early for them.
Iceland: This isn't the same Iceland team that surprised everyone at the Euro nations cup last year. I watched a few of their qualifiers, they are good but the current Super Eagles team would beat them handily. gosh, even at the best, we could've beaten them. England was just so piss poor to lose to them. There's nothing special about Iceland, really.
Once we qualify for the round of 16, watch as we take France apart. Mark my words!

junnyjake: Eguavoen sends big warning to Eagles over Croatia & Iceland
.com - Source
Dec 2, 2017 11:04 AM
Following the draw for the Russia 2018 World Cup which has pitted Nigeria against Croatia, Iceland and eternal rivals Argentina, former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen believes Nigeria must beware of the two European sides in the group.
Speaking on SuperSport shortly after the draw ceremony, Eguavoen said: “It’s not a bad draw. But we must be careful of Iceland and Croatia.
“It’s good that we are seen as the underdogs of the group because this would help the team. But we must make sure we get the preparation right.”
Eguavoen, a former Nigeria international who played at the USA ’94 World Cup, also warned that despite beating Argentina recently in an international friendly, the South Americans must not be taken for granted.
“Argentina will not be easy for us. But the good thing is that we play them last in the group,” he said.
“So it’s very important that we win our first game of the group as that would give the team a lot of confidence going into the competition.”
I for one would troll Ian Darke on twitter after we've whipped the floor with his darling Iceland and Croatia.
O pari
COOL10: Lol,stop paying attention to what the media think of us. One thing is certain, after this WC,we'll be respected as a great footballing nation again.
Ian Darke is picking Nigeria to come last in Group D, behind Iceland!
Stupid man, that's why I almost got him fired from ESPN after he criticized African (Ghanaian) fans for booing Uruguay in South Africa 2010. Anyway, he's going to eat his own words!
Nothing irritates me in football analysis as someone arguing something that he does not know.
First of all, Sylvain Wiltord played as a striker in games for Arsenal. It is clear you just browsed wiki and came to argue. Anyone who followed Arsenal back then will not debate this.
Saying Kanu does not come close to Bergkamp is another baffling statement. Keeo in mind Kanu had a heart condition and could not get a fair run of games. However, when he played, his quality was not a doubt.
Watch this clip and tell me Dennis Bergkamp could ever produce this kind of quality.
Calling Nsofor average is another weak one. Nsofor was on fire when he had his run at West Ham. Certainly one of the best in the English Premier League during his run of games. It was terrible when he was unfairly dropped. A big case for the Nigerian factor point. For you to use the term average, shows you did not watch Nsofor at West Ham at all. Those who did knew how brilliant he was during the window of his run.
For you to say Okocha, 18 games no goal for Hull, shows another misconception. Okocha played his role for Hull and he was vital. I even remember some assists he gave Fraizer Campbell, who I think was on loan from Manchester United. There are also pre-assists and also vital passes that create scoring opportunity to hinge your point on goals to value Okocha.
Ewu, England is always favored in every world cup. As a general rule, the host(s) tend to get the easiest draws and England the second easiest draw after the host. It's a rigged system.
Sports have become big money business so they manipulate the system to favor the big markets. Who's gonna watch if the World Cup semi finals features 3 sub-Saharan African teams?
O pari
Theben: They were not favored in the last world cup draw
She's amazing. Sometimes she just posts exactly what I have in mind.
How do they say that again? Great minds think alike, right?
O pari
Mujtahida: I admire her tenacious belief in the team. That's the kind of faith we need. Sometimes blindness is what faith is. But truth is we are not blind to the fault of this team. We believe because this team deserves it. We should give them 200% and more in belief.
First time doing this but shout out to safarigirl. I doff my heart for you rugged faith. Some will say modric, rakitic bla bla bla. We believe. Shikena
Trust me, it is rigged. Even Blatter, the former FIFA president, confirmed that some Euro Cup draws were fixed. But he claimed that that never happened with FIFA
O pari
mank1234: So it seems. When the host(a lowly ranked team) is placed in same pot as top teams the outcome will always be like that - easy group. It's not rigged. If it were, they would have been found out, at least for once.
The one that somehow baffles me is Nigeria vs Argentina every time.
The Icelandic team I saw during Euro should not defeat the current Super Eagles team. We gotta be having a really bad day for them to beat us. I am not even worried about Iceland to be quite honest with you. My big concerns are Argentina and Croatia.
O pari
soetanoreoluwa: You are sounding over confidence. I'm not with you... Need to check those team out first...
We just to keep our head down like we did during WC qualifiers... Then get the job done slowly
Haha!! Seriously, go back in time and double check what I said. Even South Africa got the easiest group in 2010! Japan and Korea has pretty easy groups in 2002.
Our players have changed so has out system of play since he coached us. So good luck with him trying to overanalyze our game.
I am not worried about Iceland. We are not England, we'll trash Iceland. Guaranteed!
O pari
soetanoreoluwa: Largebeer..sorry lars largebark ...i pray o... The man gonna dissect us serious.. He knows our weak point... Coach Rohr and other admins just need to start work earnestly
We are going to play Argentina last in the group stages, right? Who knows, both countries must have qualified before we play each other. And we may probably meet them again the finals
O pari
COOL10: . Definitely Argentina will want revenge and I'm so counting on that because by then we will counterattack and finish them off. I'm thinking of Iwobi disgracing Mascherano again like he did. Oh my,how joyful that would be to watch. I want Messi to win gold just as I want Buffon to win the champions league but definitely not at the expense of my beloved Naija and Barca. At the world cup our boys will be there fully, talking about Ighalo,Moses, etc. I so pity any defense with those two upfront.
That former naija coach? Now worries, we'll beat them like a drum.
We'll make him pay for all the money he took from Nigeria for the 2010 World Cup
O pari
soetanoreoluwa: Lol ...i see.. Looking like Argentina will not qualify... Just have a feeling... I dunno beware of Iceland.. Do you know the coach of Iceland?
