Joebie, did you watch Pele? Or are you solely relying on those grainy video clips we see on youtube?

O pari

Joebie:
Put Pele as #1 ever, and everything you say is valid.

The Messi and Ronaldo debate have gone on for so long that people, even editors are daring to place Messi as the best ever. That's the greatest football sin ever.

Other arguments and comparisons I don't care.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 5:00pm On Oct 03, 2017
Yea, like Ronaldiho. But one thing that makes Messi stands out is his ability to control the ball even the tightest of spaces. And the way the ball can stick to his feet is amazing to watch too. Most of the time the only way an opponent can dispossess him of the ball is by fouling him. gosh, if Messi gets half the calls that CR7 gets, he would be unplayable.

O pari

Daejoyoung:
Messi is skillfull in the sense that he is tricky and fast but relies more on pace and a good ball sense. The others on my list are to a greater extent ball jogglers and are more entertaining to me.

Are you kidding mehuh He displace even Ideye? A dude who can't score to save his life? Do you know when I nicknamed Brown Ideye Mister Miss-It? It was during the first Keshi tenure, when Ideye was playing with Emmanuel Emenike. That dude knows how to miss sitters no be small. He's definitely not going to the World Cup, if we qualify, talkless of displacing Nacho.

And by the way, everybody is jumping onto Ighalo's bandwagon now because he scored against Cameroun. Wait until he starts another one of his trademark dry spells for the Super Eagles. I will definitely take Kelechi over Ighalo any day, trust me on that one. And while at it, you can go re-watch our first match with Zambia - Kelechi and Iwobi were on fire. I just hope that Rohr can start both of them again on Saturday.

Batty word! Like Zlatan Ibrahimovic puts it, "Messi is natural, Ronaldo is a work of training." But, hey, why did you say "and maybe Messi"? Messi is more skillful than everyone you listed on there, except for perhaps Ronaldihno.

And by the way, you don't wanna be around me when I am watching any Baca games! All you'll be hearing is 'merciless Messi .... inhuman .... the little magician .... the best ever ..... blah blah blah!!!'

Lol, ladies would easily kill for Ronaldo, experience has taught me that.
On this topic though, Ronaldo is definitely one of the greatest players of all times, but while l would pay to watch Pele, Ronaldinho, Delima, Okocha, Neymar, and maybe Messi, l don't think l'll pay to watch Ronaldo, Drogba, Van Nisteroyl or Eto. There are great players and there are in the same vein also very entertaining players for the world to have her fill.

Nne, I am yet to forgive me for that heartbreaking loss. And don't forget the Beijing Olympics as well .... na that one hurt me pass. I stayed up until almost midnight watching that game only for Angel DiMaria to break our hearts at the end.

Anyway, you gotta forgive Messi. The bobo brings joy to the game. He makes football looks easy and effortless.

My preferred line up, but I am sure Rohr would stick with the team that beat Cameroun.

--------------------------ONAZI-----------Ndidi-----------------------------

Safari, you're obviously a CR7's fan. No surprise there, most women are grin

Don't get me wrong, Cristiano is a fantastic player. One of the best strikers ever. But where I get mad is when people try to compare him to the most complete player to ever play the game aka Messi. There's no contest. Cristiano gives you goals, Messi gives you everything!
The only reason why serious people are still making that comparison is because FIFA and UEFA are desperate to make Cristiano the face of football. He's much more marketable than Leo Messi, for obvious reasons:
#1. Pretty boy (now they can sale the game to billions of female fans around the world)
#2. White Euro boy
#3. Speaks good English

The whole FIFA's marketing stunts actually started the time of David Beckham and the real Ronaldo (the Brazilian one). Ronaldo was the best player in the world by far but Beckham was the one getting all the accolades and the marketing deals. Go figure ....

O pari

safarigirl:
he's a bloody striker! His work is to score goals, of what use is a striker who doesn't score? His USE is to score, not to defend or create, to SCORE....why you people want to diminsh his efforts is beyond me. You must all be Messi fan boys. CR7 has broken how many goal scoring records and some of you still think he's no different from any other striker

This argument is appalling to read.
PhonesRe: Samsung Galaxy S8 Vs Apple Iphone 8 by Icon79(m): 3:19pm On Oct 03, 2017
One of the best conclusive evidence of the better phone is to check their resale values. Go to eBay and most other auction websites and the Samsung Galaxy S8 plus goes for between $400 to $500 whereas an iphone 7Plus (we're NOT talking about the iphone 8 or 8plus yet, mind you!) sales for between $500 to $600.

That settles it. There's no need to add anything else.

NGR VS ZAM: The Similarities in their Road to Russia
Joebie|Nairaland

1. Zambia has scored in every game in the road to Russia.
2. Nigeria has as well.
3. The only thing Zambia has not achieved but Nigeria has is beating Cameroon at home. But that's because that match has not been played.
4. The only thing Nigeria has not achieved but Zambia has is beating Algeria away. But that's because that match has not been played.
5. Zambia and Nigeria's scoreline away to Cameroon is identical. Not only that, Cameroon needed Vincent Abubakar to equalize from the spot on both occasions.
6. Zambia and Nigeria's scoreline at home to Algeria is identical. Not only that, Brian Mwila scored a brace against Algeria, just like Victor Moses scored 2 goals against Algeria. It will also be interesting to note that all the goals scored by Nigeria and Zambia in their Algeria home tie were all scored by players with their shirt name starting with the the letter M. The other scorers being Mikel and Mwepu.
7. Another coincidence as seen in Point 6 above: ALL the goals were scored in similar timeframes, with Algeria's goals (Brahimi and Bentaleb) sandwiched between their opponents 2nd and 3rd goal.

Go to the youtube videos of players like Van Basten and Baggio and read the comments.

Bingo! As I had said over and over and over again: take away Cristiano's goals, he's useless to any team. Anybody can score goals if you're playing with the likes of Marcelo, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco, Casemiro, etc. All Cristiano has to do is to play at the shoulder of the last defender and meet the final pass. Does anybody realize that a vast majority of Cristiano's goals these days are mostly tap ins!

And I am not the only one that have said this because even Sergio Ramos once said openly that Cristiano is excused from doing any defensive works because he's expected to score 30 goals per season for Real Madrid.

The real super stars like Messi and Maradona can change the game even without scoring goals. You cannot be the best player in the world if all you do is score goals....there's more to football than goal scoring!

O pari

Mickael2:
CR7 is not a football, a goalscoring genius yes but not a football genius. Come on, apart from posting astronomical goal scoring returns, what else can Ronaldo do with the ball that.....Hazard cannot better? His goalscoring ability is at a genius level but generally he is not a footballing genius

Exclusive – Chippa United Ace Akpeyi In Line To Start Ahead Of Ezenwa Against Zambia
October 3, 2017010

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr ‎appears to have handed back the number one spot of the Super Eagles to Chippa United ace Daniel Akpeyi, according to scoop gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.

Injury ruled Akpeyi out of the Eagles last World Cup 2018 Qualifiers games against Cameroon, with Ikechukwu Ezenwa manning the post in both games but Akpeyi is back to full fitness and in line to return as the first choice of the team.

Akpeyi has been splendid between the post for Chippa United in their last three games in the Premier South Africa League (PSL), with two Man of the Match award to his name.

On the other hand, Ezenwa has been on holiday since captaining the Nigerian B team to a second place finish at the WAFU‎ tournament in Ghana, a tournament which he was voted the best player despite conceding four goals in the final against Ghana.

The main question is: are we talking about N85k for one or both of them? If it's for both of them, then that's a fair price.

They sewed me some traditional attires (the type they call Naija Delta style) when I travelled home in August - two pairs, and I believe that it cost as much if not more. And mine was done at Onitsha, so imagine what it would cost at Lagos.

Did Wenger really say this? Because I didn't see the interview. If he did (and that's a big IF), then I think he's making a mistake because Iwobi's game should not be evaluated on the basis of the number of goals he scores or doesn't score. He's more of a creator not a scorer - an Iniesta type of midfielder, if you will.

Having said that, like I had said several times on here, Iwobi would need to add goals to his game if he wants to maintain his position. because, as a black African man, that's basically the only way he can stay in the first team at a big club like Arsenal. Jay Jay would've played for teams like Real Madrid or Manchester United if he were a prolific scorer.

Arsene Wenger : Iwobi Must Contribute To At Least 16 Goals Every Season

Speaking at a press conference following Arsenal's 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday, manager of the London club, Arsene Wenger, has set a target for Alex Iwobi, saying the Nigerian must contribute to at least 16 goals every season.

The Nigeria international shrugged off an injury before netting his first goal for the Gunners since January 2017, and his display against the Seagulls was pleasing to the eye.

''I think he’s a kind of player who has a good availability,'' Arsene Wenger stated.

''He helps you a lot to get out of pressure when you are in a build up game and creates spaces.

''What you want from him is final balls and goals as well. A player like him must score 10 goals and he must as well give between six and 10 assists and that’s what I want from him.''

Alex Iwobi made his sixth appearance of the season in all competitions against Brighton & Hove.
