Dr Klever, I actually like that your formation. I will try it myself, if I were Gernot Rohr.

That's a really balanced team!

This is still my best formation. if and only if V Moses brings out his A game and play with his team mates, else he should either sit on the bench or play LWB.

Bros, again, I sincerely do apologize if you feel that I attacked you personally. That was never my intention. It just boils my blood each time I see folks fishing for what to criticize with this team. It's like folks are fishing for straws. Don't get me wrong anybody is free to express their opinions on anything, but some of these criticisms are getting old. It started with arguing that a 40 year old Obafemi Martins is our only hope in Russia. Then when fate knocked Oba Martins out of contention, it became all about Dele Alampasu ... someone who hasn't played a first team football since God knows when. Then the wailers moved to Olarenwaju Kayode ... and we were given all sorts of "stats" to support a ridiculous argument that Kayode is the second coming of Yekini. And it didn't stop there, because we were also told that the team can't win without Ola Aina and Mikel Agu.

Pele o! I am getting sick and tired of all the negative energy. Forget about the players who didn't make it. Let's talk about the players who are actually going to play in a few days time. That's all I was trying to say, bros. It isn't my style to engage in personal attacks grin

O pari

TheGoodJoe:
This is a clear attack on me and for what ever reason best known to you, you clearly showed you know nothing about what football discussions are about. Is any one here claiming to know more than the coach? People are here to give their suggestions on why or how they feel the team can best move forward.

However, you are typing like if you are making a clear point but what you are saying is that we all should shut up and close this thread.

Sorry to say it, you might think you are making sense but you typing a thing or making any suggestion makes you one of the Nigerians that annoy.

People are here to make their opinions. Attacking people does not make you any better.

When exactly did Clemence Westerhof held this open screening session? Or were you referring to a different Westerhof? Please, you guys should stop all these nonsense because there are people here who actually follow all these things and have been following for the past 15 years as well. I remember correctly that Nigerians started wailing and crying that Westerhof must include Tijani Babangida in the team just because he scored a hat trick in the final friendly game the team played in Nigeria, but Westerhof ignored all that nonsense and went to the World Cup with the team he had.

Nigerians are the most annoying people on the planet. Every single one of them knows better than the coach while there are out there making peanuts while the coaching is raking in millions. Which begs the question, if you actually knows better than the coach, my not go out there and show your stuff? No, they only do their own coaching behind the computer screens. That's why we call them the Internet Certified Coaches (ICC).

TheGoodJoe:
Westerhoff held an open screening session before he made his final World Cup list for USA 94. I guess it was a youth tournament we played then.

Other countries have developed leagues which serves as a large screening session for a long period of time for their best players. Unfortunately, we have a poor league and Limited opportunities in Europe to count on selecting and playing.

We need more innovative approaches just as we hammered on a more competent handling of the B team where large pool of players will be camped and adequately screened etc.

Our current selection is not comprehensive enough and we need to keep improving.

Finito.

Good point right there, my friend! If I have access to Gernot Rohr, my best advise to him would be to sit Victor Moses down and talk some sense into him. VicMo could be the key to how far we'd go in Russia, if he could play for the team and with the team instead of playing for himself.

All in all, I still believe in this team. Something tells me that they would step up and get it right once the first whistle is blown.

The way you guys tend to spin this Uzoho thing is really becoming ridiculous. Yes, both his detractors and his supporters are becoming ridiculous with this argument. Here are the indisputable facts:

Is Uzoho ready? No, absolutely not.
Do we have a better option than him at the moment? No, not at all.
Conclusion: he's definitely NOT ready; however, he's the best option we have available so we stick with him.

But trying to blame his ALL shortcomings on poor defenders is a spin too far. Bottom line, everybody has to improve including Uzohor. And by the way, anybody who claims that Uzoho is ready because he has played against the likes of Lewandowski, Kane, etc doesn't understand football. It's one thing to face these strikers in a friendly game but facing them at the world cup is totally different ballgame - the scene would be different, the atmosphere would be different, the stakes would be much higher... etc etc. Trust me on that one. Bottom line, we won't know if Uzoho would be ready until he takes the field against Croatia on June 16th.

chrisooblog:
exactly! his reflexes are very good he got a good goalkeeping education rohr too sees that hence the reason he has given him a run of games to build his confidence. i agree the defence has to do more to shield him. when you are constantly under attack from the opposition i don't care if you are de gea, buffon or neuer you will surely concede. ezenwa has been mostly lucky that when he plays the defence covers him well hence the call for him to be in goal.

If Messi actually did say this then I will formally part ways with him because he doesn't know what the heck he's talking about. Croatia is yet to win any pre-world cup friendly match and they haven't even played well either. We have no stars to look to redeem us in time of difficulty. Nobody is a sacred cow anybody can be dropped.

Can we beat Croatia, 100% certainly big YES.

We need coordinated fast wing play we will need to use pace, pace will be key on the quick break. Croatia is a very physical side with little pace and we will have to boss them on the physical side of things. At the end of the day potatoe no be Yam.

My preferred formation 3-5-2

I am yet to see Simi play otherwise I would prefer a two forward play of Simi and Ighalo. Particularly as we desperately need to make our set pieces particularly corners count.
BusinessRe: UBA Added N10 To Lady's N40 To Withdraw N52 For Card Maintenance by Icon79(m): 2:42pm On Jun 07, 2018
First of all, UBA didn't even have to add any credit to his account before they can collect their fees. They could just deduct their fees and the account would go into negative balance, so I can't understand why they think they needed to add the money.

Having said that, the so called card maintenance fee is a fraudulent charge. And if Nigeria is a real country, the Central Bank (or whatever body is in charge of regulating the banking industry) ought to clampdown on these banks for such fraudulent charge.

The so called card maintenance fee should be paid by the merchants (seller). Each time you use your card to make a purchase, the issuing bank gets a small credit (convenience fee) from the merchant. That's how it's done everywhere else, Nigeria's case should not be different.

I would rather that we lose ALL our pre-world cup friendlies matches and win all our world cup matches. And in addition, our opponents are not not doing any better either. Croatia lost to Peru and they haven't won ANY pre-world cup friendly game either. Iceland hasn't won any games either. FlirtyKaren:
A 24-year-old woman, Olamide Akinbobola, who allegedly stabbed her husband to death in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, was on Wednesday remanded in Kirikiri Prison on the orders of an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.

Olamide, a school teacher, appeared on a charge of murder.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Komolafe, who gave the ruling, said the accused should remain behind bars pending advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

She directed that the case file should be duplicated and a copy forwarded to the DPP for advice.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin alleged that the woman committed the offence on May 30 at No. 1, Olupebi Abijo St., Gbaga, off Ijede Road, Ikorodu.

Omisakin had told the court that the accused stabbed her husband, Dare Akinbobola, 28, on his neck to death with a kitchen knife.

The woman however made a plea and claimed that she only stabbed her husband in self defence as he was fond of maltreating her.

According to her, she couldn't escape from him as he had bolted the door pinned her down while throwing blows at her.

The offence contravened Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The offence attracts death penalty.

The case has been adjourned until July 12.
