I blame the Osun PDP in particular and the National Excos of PDP for the fate that befell the state...
PDP lacked tact, strategy and foresight by allowing that thug Omisore force himself on the people thereby chasing credible people who could have given Aregbe a run for the post away.
After the Ekiti election, the pendulum swung Pdp's way only for the party to foolishly throw it away!... Isiaka Adeleke/Wole Oke ticket would have delivered massive damage to Aregbe but no, they allowed Omisore chase him into the hand of Aregbe who gladly sacrificed a sitting senator for him... We all saw what he delivered in Ede and Environ...
Make no mistake, Osun people had no choice than to vote Aregbe because Omisore was and will never sell in the state...The votes he got where protest votes from people who couldn't stand Aregbe...Civil servants!
In retrospect, the fall of PDP started after this monumental mistake... I pray the party bounce back for the sake of our democracy...

Your article is wrong on many levels, the era of regarding the girl child as a liability is far gone.
By the grace of God I trained my younger sisters through university and believe me, what they got in a year was more than what I got my entire sojourn in school.
Whenever they ask for money, I assume they need more and I add accordingly. I remember paying double for a particular fee only for her to loan me money afterwards...
I have a daughter now and I know better...

We have in recent times been inundated with accusations and counter accusations about the authenticity of certificate tendered by General Buhari, we have witnessed series of show of shame on the pages of the dailies as well as gutter fights among those who call themselves our leaders, I pause to ask, How did we get here? How did we get stuck with these two questionable individuals (JONATHAN and BUHARI) as our hope of survival as a nation? Is it that we seriously lack credible leadership materials in a nation of over 160 million people? Is it that our present generation of youths lack vision, focus and capacity to change this old order and move up to take charge of our commonwealth?.. Many questions hang in the air-Hopelessly.

I came across this piece while surfing and I feel like sharing here for discussions and rebuttal if need be.

WHY BUHARI HAS NO CERTIFICATE: - Col. Ben Gbulie (rtd)

More light have been thrown on the controversy surrounding the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari and his release of a Toronto certificate to online media instead of INEC by Col. Ben Gbulie (rtd)'s scholastic narrative.

The situation in Nigeria pre and post Independent where unqualified people are favoured against the qualified, made it impossible for due process to be followed by Northerners who wanted to join the army or high institutions.

Buhari joined the army in 1962 and less than 2 months to this date, he has a letter claiming to be a student. He was six months in Military training school and went to UK and stayed six months for 3 years course, there was no time in record that Buhari went back to college to complete his secondary school.

According to Col. Ben Gbulie (rtd) writing, "By 1960, shortly after Nigeria's independence, the Prime Minister, Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, had directed the Principal of King's College, Lagos, Mr. P.H. Davies, to provide places, annually, for at least 15 boys from the North, whether or not they passed the requisite regular entrance examination."

"In an attempt to catch up militarily with the South, the Northern politicians had thrown out all discretion. They had lowered standards of admission drastically, settling for the minimum. And they had become officers after barely six months of military training, whereas those of us who had been sent to Sandhurst had had to do two long years to earn the Queen's Commission. The implications were quite clear - and most disturbing. Not only had these Northerners become commissioned officers before we were half-way through our first year at Sandhurst, they had all risen to the enviable rank of Captain before we could even appear at the sovereign's parade which served essentially as a prerequisite for our passing out as Second Lieutenants."

"Zak (Maimalari) had held the rank of Captain in 1960. But before my return from the United Kingdom in 1963, he had soared to the top rank of Brigadier. It was just scandalous".

It is a shame that Buhari entered the Army with a false document and not meeting the prerequisite and insisting on contesting for the 2015 presidential election, knowing fully well that he has no secondary school certificate.

If Buhari is man enough, let him submit the doctored 'school certificate' to INEC or any government department and he will earn himself a ticket to prison.

Nigeria Must not be drawn back to another mediocre, his joke is getting out of hand.

A loving, lovely and lovable woman who is a mother not only to her children but to many... Academically, she is a Professor like no other her blueprint on revamping our educational system lies unattended to at the ministry of education. She heads many international organisation with meritorious service here and in diaspora.

As a married man, I'll advise you not to take all you read here hook, line and sinker, sieve through, pick the few that suites the modus operandi of your home and go with it, no one knows your wife/home better than you and most of the people you are reading here are either not married or do not have a clue on how to raise a peaceful home so if keeping quiet or begging her make your peaceful, by all means, go for it while exploring options to avoid repeat occurrence.

My wife does not like open confrontation, she prefers writing/pouring her feelings in notes, sms or mail this I found not funny at first but we found a way of striking a balance, now when we have mis-understanding, we trash it out via talks, sms, notes and we make up the best way ever!.
So OP,
Not getting physical even in the face of provocation is a sign of maturity but please sit your wife down and tell her in clear terms that you'll no longer condone that attitude, make her understand that it emasculates which might push you to do things you don't want to and also let her see the danger in allowing your children grow up seeing that kind of scenerio play out in the house.

A friend got married and lived happily on a combined salary of less than 60k for more than 3 years before things got better for them.
