What does Onicha Ado na Idu mean?
Different folks have given different interpretations to that word.
There are over 4 Onicha's aside the popular Onicha Mmili and Onicha Ado na idu was a "collective term/name" for all of them. However it seems the popular Onicha have claimed sole use/ownership to the name ie Ado na idu.Onichan's "home and abroad" fits aptly,IMO.

@OP,hope you seriously are not considering leaving your home?that would be not just childish but also the worst decision you can ever take.

I asked before, how would u handle this had he been ur brother?ring mama, complain to ur hubby or find a solution?

IMO,reporting him to ur hubby makes u an incompetent homemaker. How can u not find a way to make a 20 yrs old bend and obey rules, were u not once a teen?

Take the boy out, just u and him in a relaxed mood and talk with him.Open up ur heart and have a real chat with him.u love his brother and automathically love him too.You dont like the way he does certain things and would want him to change so y'all would enjoy a peaceful home.Name those things he's been doing wrong and tell him it should have been done.Let him talk too,he must have his reasons no matter how silly.Apologise if necessary.Mind the way you talk to him too,at 20 most kids are just rebellious, wants things done their way.

Don't expect a miracle,he'd change with time, love and firm rules in place.

I wholeheartedly agree she needs some proper floggig. Volunteer yourself and I'd donate my bedroom, help us flog her consistently for 3 months.she would be made whole for life.
@debrief, I think its the fear of remaining a spinster for life that is getting her "confused" and you are right, she needs to work on herself.

@OP, this ship is gone, IMO but if you still want to try stopping it, goodluck.

What really is the confusion here?or you have fears that you might not get another man afterwards?

Since he left you in December has he ever rang you?where you guys properly married?if yes, have you told your family?how did you know his mom is planning to send him abroad?do you still want him and as a woman, be honest to yourself, do you think this man loves you?

Btw, do you mean to say that for the months you guys were together, there have been no "action" ? He looks at you, you look at him?odikwa risky there.have you tried ringing him to arrange to meet him somewhere to talk things through? If you were to be a relative, I would encourage you to move on.

You just sold a house, can't you use the proceeds to get an alternative accomodation for your family, far away from your parents?

You can't fight your family, sad truth!

Leave the house for them, stop giving them money, relocate your family and start afresh. Naija police won't be of much help either, I reckon the case wou be striked out as "family matter".

Life na teacher, hope you'd be a good student henceforth.

Were is the mom getting funds for the intended travelling?

What happened to the shop you got for him?you deserve to know why and how it went down?or they are using the money for this travel plans?

How long was the courtship?how old is your hubby and why is your mil living with you guys?

What do you mean by erectile dysfunction?it never gets up, never stays up(or needs a lot of "pushing" to get or stay up) or he's shooting blank? Have he seen a doctor?

What do you want?you said you threatened to walk, now he wants to walk and you are not dancing to church for thanksgiving? Lol

Obviously, you are still interested in this marriage and you have 2 issues here: kpekus and lazy bone.

Make out time to talk to your husband alone, without his mother. Encourage and go with him to see a dotor, what happened to his business?find out! Ask him what he wants to do. I prefer he works and save up money if he still wants to go into biz as oppossed to giving him capital(you can support though)

Goodluck but truth is this, if the man really wants out, you can't change his mind.
I have read the scriptures front to back several times over the years and each read takes me deeper through doors I never been before. With the new access come new understanding and awareness. Tonight, I stumbled upon a new link of historical fact.

There is too much similarities than there are dissimilarities between the language, meaning, rituals of the Edos and those of Afro-Asia to dismiss this as just mere coincidence. I have commented a lot about the presence of Yoruba and its sub groups as a whole fraternal of kins who migrated from that region and through different lands before they finally settled in the savannah of what is today Western Nigeria. Some like the Kanem did not go as far.

This Bible is the Hebrew-Greek version written by a Greek and with translation from Old Hebrew. Here is the footnote that caught my attention:

"Edom, the elder twin-brother of Jacob; the region of Idumea was occupied by him"

In Nigeria the only people that have "Idu-". . .anything in their language is the EDO.

Jacob's name was later changed to Israel. The family from that time on became known as "Children of Israel". Therefore the father of the EDOs and the father of the Twelve Tribes of Israel are twin brothers. This means Edos are not Israelites but as I have established numerous times before with evidence of rituals and language similarities, this add to the list and lay emphasis on their proto-semitic root.

I also want to ask why Yoruba people, in addition to high rate of twin births also have children with hair-locks (Dada)?
@Bolded,that's not so,Chief Negro. The Igbos,Onitsha to be specific address themselves as Onicha Ado na Idu.

No sane woman living in Nigeria folds her hand and becomes a hausfrau for any reason,Your hubby needs to understand that.

I suggest that,if you must do a white collar job, look into jobs that comes with shorter working hours, working from home or go into a private business venture.

Earn your own money(no matter how little),earn your respect.Take hand-outs,allowances etc,be well prepared to take all BS.
