TWO landlords Alhaji S. Oloye and Mr.O. Oloyo, with 24 bed room properties in Odo Oba Area,Ibadan, Oyo state are to spend the next 20 months in Jail for their failure to provide toilet facilities for their tenants

is it a nigerian tradition? is it practised??
all serious replies appreciated
Its not a Nigerian Thing. Its an individual thing cheesy
Lol,it has nothing to do with our culture or race, its just a personal thing.its not even encouraged in Nigeria as a matter of fact,a greater percentage of Nigerians frown at it.
Then when it was quite popular,it was a means of checking and controlling unfaithfulness in relationships. For me,its for losers and the insecure and i wud never be part of it. . . .why be in a relationship when theres no trust huh
Generally,its almost non-existing now.
BTW,did u just take an oath or planning to do so?

Please prove me wrong then. Is there a government recognised Emir of Anambra? huh
Spikey, theres actually a "saraki " in "Ama-hausa " in Onitsha and Awka.am very sure of those ones.  smiley and ah well,i dont know if its "recognized" by the govt.
@Topic,i think Originally, this "eze-ship" outside ones land was meant to cater for the indigenes in the foreign land. . . .help them when they are having problems, celebrate marriages and mourn together when one of them is dead, have and organise meetinsg and keep in tune with the happenings in their hometown, engage in charity works and generally think of ways to make their hometown a better place BUT sadly i seriously doubt if that is obtainable now  undecided so . . . .if its not serving any positive purpose it can as well be scrapped off.

Kobojunkie:
Awww shucks!! Sad that these ibos here do not seem to consider you as important as Mma is to them, since news of your award did not make it to the front pages or even the news in Nigeria. But no worries, you are not alone. There are thousands of nigerians across the country today celebrating acceptance to one or more internships only in the eyes of this group here, if that internship does not involved working at the white house ( which by the way is not in Nigeria), it is not to be celebrated in much the same way. If you are disappointed, imagine how the many other Nigerians out , who are not ibos but also got selected for the internship of their choice, feel. embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed lipsrsealed undecided undecided cry cry
