Politics / Re: Why We Are Not Paying Salaries Regularly – Kogi Govt by ifyboy60(m): 3:03pm On May 20, 2018
Ecstasy154:
The Kogi State Government says huge loan servicing is responsible for its inability to pay the salaries of its workers regularly.

Mr Kingsley Fanwo, the state Director-General, Media and Publicity made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lokoja.

Fanwo said that the loans were taken by the two previous administrations for projects that did not add value to the state.

“Sometimes, we repay between N400 million and N500 million monthly as loans that add no value to the state.

“These loans were taken by the last two administrations and some of them were invested on projects that were never completed.

“When you go out, you will see Kogi Hotels, billions of naira was collected for that project and it was not completed, and it is not adding any value to the state.

“Also, the Kogi House in Abuja has gulped billions of naira, yet, it is not completed, not adding any value to the state,’’ he said.

The DG said the previous administrations collected N200 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) development, which was not used for the purpose intended.

According to him, rather than using the money for SMEs development, some people just shared the money.

“There is no record of anybody given loan and now we are repaying. So all of these have taken its toll on the resources and finances of the state’’

He said despite the poor resources accruing to the state, the government still strive to pay workers’ salaries.
“We cannot shy away from the fact that the resources that is coming to the state now has dwindled due to the loans we are repaying.

“It is increasingly difficult to muster enough resources to pay salaries regularly.

“As I speak with you, we are still owing March and April salaries,’’ Fanwo said.

Smh... Any country that seeks to dominate others is evil! The Americans have mastered the art of deception and they're doing the job so well. They've conned the world to believe they're a good nation while others are bad. The Japanese folks are smart guys just like the Chinese and I must admit that its a complex world. The Russians were infiltrated by the Americans and the Americans raised sanctions against them using their puppet UN organisation. If a terrorist bombed your people and comes back to build your country I guess that's a good thing right? We cannot justify the injustice against humanity by the so-called cash you mentioned there. EVIL IS EVIL.

the Palestinians have been brutal even to themselves, they refuse to accept israel's right to exist and Hama's rejects the two state solution choosing war even if it looses everyday.

ur hate can't rewrite history, the Arabs declared war on Isreal as sson as the nation was created. they gathered there armies and invaded but were roundly defeated

Both sides are not innocent. I follow Israel-Palestinian history and contemporary affairs "bumper to bumper" and I can tell you no one is innocent. People mainly take side for religious and political reasons.
The disabled man there is armed. Can't you see him with a sling in the first picture? Does sling look like a play-thing to you? Everyday ordinary Palestinians will use all sort of weapons from catapult to petrol bombs to rockets to attack the Israelis but they will play the victims when they get killed.

The only way there can be peace in that region is for the Palestinians especially Hamas and some States in the Arab league to accept the Statehood of Israel and an adoption of two-state solution. Anything other than this is infeasible.

The problem is dat the Arabs think they (Muslims) are the only ones worthy of loving in the middle east.

In their mind they own the place and must rule over everything and everyone as lords.

But the Jews are made of the same ilk and are equally stubburn and worse still stronger militarily and technologically

There was a move towards that and both Israel and Palestine rejected the idea even after the Oslo accord and camp David summit.

There was a move for it again until the confused being at the white house came to spoil the move.

Am glad u've followed dis historically, but the poor Palestines are governed by hardliners who don't really care about their safety.

Hama's tinks they can achieve victory by force, so they don't take peace seriously.
it was d late Arafat that made attempt to peace and in return the Jews gave them back the west bank which they've made a mess of.

For peace to reign.
Why don't they divide it into two?

A two state solution remains the best option to ensure peace.

the Palestinians rejected the two state solution and proceeded to chase out(anihiliate) the jews, but shockingly they lost in 1948.
since then its been one calamity to another for them.

A thread made it to the front page and I had to comment while including a link for people to read. Most of the commenters here don't know anything.

They are programmed to hate anything that includes Islam or Muslim
They are programmed to agree with whatever USA or Trump says or does.

You see them calling Obama spineless yet his regime issued family visas to Africa like never before. His regime issued visas to pregnant women but they hate him because of whatever reasons best known to them.

u are correct, some pips comment out of emotions.
bottom line is dat trump and his supporters don't want Iran to even 'smell' nuclear technology coz of the NK experience.

but while NK nukes is for deterrence against an invasion, Iran would put it in d hands of terrorists like Hezbollah and dat scares d shii at out every rational tinker.

Here is a link to info about the 1953 coup the CIA pulled off on Iran at the request of BP oil company. If you feel Iran has no right to self defense after it's government was overthrown for an oil company and a dictator installed then you are confused. Bolton really wants war. Isreal wants war. Isreal shot down two Iranian jets in Syria.
But as expected the braindead Nigerians who knows nothing will jubilate because a Muslim country is involved. Their hatred, stupidity, bigotry, hypocrisy is of the highest order

What birthed the war in Syria which lead to war on many fronts?

Gadaffi was gonna fall the USD, he opted for a gold coin as USD replacement. He also borrowed Sarkozy money for his election which made France orchestrate his ousting..

What kinda cooperation did you expect from Sadam? His country was falsely invaded and till date nobody is held responsible for war crimes which lead to millions of people dead, homeless etc

You should read more about Taliban

Have you ever asked why there is always a "terrorist group" in any country USA imvades?

1. the war in Syria is a civil war birthed by the desire of the populace to usher in democracy as a fallout from the Arab spring.

2.The economy of California alone is bigger than that of the entire north Africa, there is no way 'small Libya' could fall the US dollar.

3. Sadam invaded Kuwait whc precipitated d gulf war. he attacked Isreal with his ballistic missiles as a sure of force so as to become d undisputed Arab champion. he used chemical weapons on the Kurds.
4. US invaded Nazi Germany and it wasn't for terrorists, US invaded fascist Italy, even the Italians were happy abt it as it drove away Nazi forces and musolini.
5.US invaded panama, no terrorists only a crack head dictator.

Give the US some accolades
they deserve it.

Even in 100 years, they will be after you until they get you. That is what happened to Gaddafi. The same happened to Saddam husane,Osama bin ladin and many more. Kill the Americans, you can't go scort free.So don't come here and be supporting Gadaffi because hecwasva Muslim.

1) What makes you think Iran would want to negotiate another deal when you didn't honour the first one?
2) The Saudi's and Iran are enemies(Shiites and Sunnis) and the Saudi's would do anything to be top dogs in the middle east.
3) They say one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter(the government of Nigeria calls Ipob terrorist, do you agree with them). The issue of Hezbollah is a Middle East problem.

4) Under economic sanctions, Iran was building nukes, a deal was put in place to slow them down. Also note that the deal included Iran allowing IAEA to inspect all their nuclear sites.

it was the precious economic blockade that made them accept the previous deal. I tink they need more.

it takes more than a host contry to call a group a terrorist grp. only Buhari and his supporters call Igbos terrorists. but even in Nigeria Hezbollah affiliates have been arrested and tried-remember amingo owners? who were caught with cache of weapons in kano.

America is the only country in the history of mankind to ever use atomic bomb on another country. Should we allow them to still continue to keep their nuclear stockpile?

They left the allies no choice.

even the Japanese of today understands the position they put america in. that's y Japan is constitutionally a pacifist country.
