Why would you buy the story since it's a stain on biafran soldiers. If the Biafran soldiers could kill a white man in Agbor and accuse him of being a mercenary, why can't they kill an Edo man and tag him Hausa.

You won't believe
It wasn't recorded, it's all concorted stories. That's why I said, those igbos who died whose names were not mentioned or documented during the war were all fake. It's all concorted and it's all false.
We have evidence of Nigerian Army lining up and massacring hundreds of Igbo villagers in their home towns. We have evidence of those killed by name and their village name, we know the Nigerian Army unit and their commanders involved, we even have our mass graves.

In contrast, you claim Biafrans massacred Midwesterners, you can't provide names of victims, you can't provide their village names and, you can't provide names of Biafran unit or their commanders involved.
All you have is concocted stories you insist we MUST accept, because according to you, "why should your sources lie"?

Well newsflash! Humans lie and they do so many times even without any reason.
If you can't provide evidence of Biafran troops lining up Midwestern natives and killing them, then you are obviously making up the stories.

I gave just one proof.
One of an edo Man, who was killed by Biafran troops on the road at a check point at a road that leads to Akure.

Why would an old man lie about those who killed his Elder brother. The man didn't just say he was killed for no reason. He said he was killed because he was mistaken for Hausa by Biafran troops. But you said because it was not documented, then it is false. That it is a concorted story. If we go by that logic, then we can dismiss the souls of many igbos that were killed in the war because I can say that their killings were not documented also. We can only accept those that were documented. The rest that were killed whose names are no where to be found are all concorted and false stories...
Lol!
We have seen bigger lies from those quarters.
Igbo Massacres in Biafran and Midwest were well documented.

If the man was killed as a result of mistaken identity as you are saying, then it's obvious he was only a casualty of misidentification and there was no harm intended on him or Midwesterners in general, which on its own cancels out the falsehood of Biafran troops carrying out massacre of the natives.

And mind you, I don't in any way even buy the man story. Anyone can wake up one morning and start talking nonsense.
This is Nigeria. Where we have a whole generation of Igboid speaking Ika being told by lying elders that they speak Igbo because of trade with Igbos and because the white missionaries forced Igbo language on them.
These are the type of lies elders in those climes sit down and concoct. Lies that cannot stand scrutiny. Juvenile lies.

The Edos also forgot the Anioma being Bini descendants when they and Ika wiped out almost all of the Aniomas. Can't believe they made people believe it was just Hausa soldiers that did the wiping by pointing the only one they did in Asaba under Murtala Mohammed watch.
That of Ogwashikwu, Isheagu and other parts of delta igbobthat was done by Ika and the acclaimed Bini ancestors with the aim of eradicating them hidden under the carpet.
I think it was mainly Agbor and Owa people. Owa in particular quickly denounced their Igbo identity immediately Murtala Mohammed showed up and quickly made him their friends. They also by the foregoing had to prove to the FG that they are not Igbos, and there were no better ways of doing that than joining the Edos/FG forces to visit to their fellow Midwestern Igbos with massacre.

It is this aspect of Anioma history that is rarely discussed, because it would wreck havoc in their quest for unity.

Ika towns like Igbodo who are traditionally pro Igbo also suffered massacre.

Interesting to see the role the Bini man Ogbemudia played in these Massacres.

Read the link. The report never said Biafran forces fell on Midwest civilians. They named those they fell on. The pogrom people. The genocidal North out of vengeance.
The report is clear and looks unbiased because we all know how humans behave. You can't expect Biafran forces to be hosting party for Northerners in Midwest after they massacred innocent 30 thousand of Biafran people in the North despite their people sent back to them in presidential convoy a year before
Ok.

You are saying fantasy stories my friend. The first premier of the Mid west was Dennis Osadebey, till today the government house in Edo state is named after him. Keep talking rubbish
Osadebey was removed by the military junta.
And by the time Biafrans marched through Midwest, the ruler of the region was an Urhobo man called Ejoor.

Ejoor was pro Nigeria, and Ojukwu replaced him with Dr Okonkwo, an Anioma son.
This didn't go down well with Urhobos and Edos.
They Saw Okonkwo appointment as evidence of Biafrans intent to institute Igbo domination on the non Igbos of the region.
They quickly forgot that Aniomas are supposed to be Bini descendants like they are telling us today when they rejected Okonkwo appointment. They also quickly forgot that before the whole madness started, it was an Anioma person in Osadebey and not an Edo or Urhobo person who was the ruler of the region.
So all Ojukwu did with appointment of Dr Okonkwo as the new administrator of Midwest was restore things to default settings.

What I posted was a screenshot. Go and read it my friend and stop avoiding it. It is there for you. Even this Isheagu incident is there. Go and read abeg
Where did it say that Biafran troops lined up Urhobo people and Edo people in their towns and mass murdered them.
Show me the quote on that?

"Atrocities" is a vague word. If I forcefully take mama onome Chicken as a Biafran soldier and kill it to eat with my stupid friends without my commander knowledge, and Mama onome went and reported to her husband who came to confront me and I used the head of my gun to hit on his head and beat him senseless and send him home in injuries.
That's atrocity right there and very much condemnable.
But is it a genocide? Nope! Were the actions of the Biafran soldier sanctioned by his superiors? Nope!

OfoIgbo:
We should really be talking about the Edo massacre of Ika, Ukwuani and Enuani people.

This has to be catalogued and made available to the latter day Igbo-deniers.

There has to be a cataloguing of these atrocities by supposed brothers of Ika and other Anioma people
It's a very interesting point of history.
You know part of the reason these Edoids were aggressive towards the Biafran troops passage through their territory on the March towards Lagos?
Because Ojukwu appointed an Anioma man as the governor of the region to replace their son Ejoor. They saw the Anioma appointment as Igbo appointment and plan of domination against them. The fact that Osadebey an Anioma and not a Bini man was the rightful leader of the region before Nzeogwu struck was easily muted by these lots.
So once the FG recaptured Midwest, they saw it as an ample opportunity to trim the Igbos of Midwest.

Yet today we are being told stories of how these same Igbos they massacred are supposedly Bini descendants.

Your igbo brother posted a link up there. Go and read it and stop denying truth.
What's in the link?
The one you quoted where it was said that Biafran atrocities were smaller relative to those of FG?
That's a vague empty political statement. And mind you, atrocity doesn't necessarily mean genocide or murder, acts of cruelty like flogging of civilians, taking their farm produce without purchase, by belligerent lone soldiers acting in lone capacity can as well be classified as atrocities. But a genocide/ mass massacre of the people of Midwest?
No such thing happened.

Let them provide the name of towns in non Igbo areas where Biafrans committed such atrocities and the names of the victims, their villages and the Biafran unit and commanders who led the so called "atrocities"

First of all I never said the people murdered were urhobo men. I said an Urhobo man told me in 2007, then I barely even understood the cause of the Civil War. He said Biafra soldiers killed people in Benin city.

As for my friend's father
What does he want to gain from telling me that his elder brother was killed by Biafra soldiers. His elder brother was his father's first son.

I only see that you are trying to say that biafran troops didn't commit any atrocities in Midwestern region.
Biafran troops committed no mass murder in Midwest.
No such thing happened.
What he stands to gain from Making up stories of his elder brother being killed by Biafran soldiers, the same thing Germans who deny Jewish Holocaust and Turks who deny Armenian genocide want to gain.
They want to soothe their conscience and justify their own atrocities.

Omoigui who started the narrative of Biafran troops massacring non Igbo westerners had been tasked for years now to provide names of such victims, their home town, the Biafran unit and commanders involved.
We have not gotten any response from him yet.

My friend dad in his 60s said that his Elder brother was killed by Biafra soldiers in Midwestern region when they invaded. His only crime was that he was like a Hausa man. They shot him.

In 2007, an urhrobo man who had lived all his life in Benin told me that the Biafrans rounded up persons who they felt were of northern extraction and executed them all in Benin city.

You have to understand why many minority tribes werr angry at the Biafrans. They did things wrongly.

Go and read the novel
When a child is motherless
You will get an account of the civil war in riverine communities by the author.
No such murder of Urhobo people happened in Bini City.
Those have always been stories you Urhobos and Edos made up to soothe your conscience in your involvement of massacre of Anioma people in Bini City and in their towns in Delta State when the FG arrived.
Your stories are usually vague. No name of victims and their village/town, no mention of Biafran unit or officer is ever mentioned.

It's always stories of *my father's friend*, my mother's uncle,my friend's wife.
They are usually kept as vague as possible.

Hahahah lol. Now I’m even Fulani?

That is your new decoy of derailing the course of the thread?

So the Ijaw people in the video are suffering from pseudologia fantastica? Igbo logic!

So the pictorial evidence reeks of survival instinct? It is real but they did it because of survival instinct? I don’t even understand the Ibo logic here.

So why was the decree made then and why did he specifically directed it to the Northern region? Are the Northerners the one mocking themselves? How will he write Ibo on it? Even Buhari won’t specifically mentioned Ibo in the decree in that instance let alone Aguiyi Ironsi an Ibo man.

Xxxxx:
Do you know Azikiwe also gave credence to that assertion of Igbos mocking the Northerners in his book titled “The Origin of the Nigerian civil war”? Just 17pages sort of book.

When I get my hands on that actual book, I will scan it and upload this thread. The reference was mentioned in that text I uploaded but as a chronic denier that you are, you will need the actual hard copy of the book to believe.

Even when you have the hard copy, you might either say Azikiwe is an efulefu or he was pressured to write it at gunpoint.
- Yes!They know they are lying to themselves, but the lies are just too sweet than the bitter truth. So yeah.

- Of course you are a Fulani. Lol! You are not as hidden as you think you are.

- Yes! The kind of Carnage FG troops wrecked in captured territories in East and in Midwest is better told than felt.
It was in surival instincts mode that those Igbo communities in Delta started denying their Igbo identity, which has continued till today. It's a surival instinct. If helping Nigerian troops make videos and pics claiming that the atrocities they committed in Ikot Ekpene helped save that man and the remnant of his family, then it's a reasonable thing to do to stay alive.

- You are beating around the bush. You quote Jesus or Allalh if you like, but make sure that person shows me where Igbo is written in that edict. Because anything else would be subjective opinions.

On why it was directed towards the North, i wouldn't know.
Only Ironsi would know.

So far all evidence you have presented to prove Igbos taunting the Northerners all were busted.

- Ewu na ebe Akwa was composed by Igbos to mock Saraduna death. Turned out song was sang by an Ijaw man and was made years before Saraduna death. Propaganda epic failure.

-Igbos printed bread to mock Saraduna- Bursted since 2015, so they have resorted to saying it's a mere "rendition" , they can't provide the original because it doesn't exist. Another propaganda failure.

The above explains what Happened in those Ijaw areas.
They had fierce civil war between pro Nigeria and pro Biafrans among them.
The pro Biafrans had upper hand initially and wielded it strong.
But when the region fell to FG forces, the pro Nigeria became strong and went for their own power grab.
The pro Biafra kings all fell to the sword or abdicated their thrones. The kingdom was disunited.
To reunite, they created a fallacy of Igbos coming to kill them, and exonerated their own brothers who were the pro Biafrans they were actually fighting with.
It's a narrative that brought peace to them, but at the expense of historical distortion.

Lol, I don’t need anyone to teach me what to say at my level of exposure and resources at my disposal.

I have my integrity intact, gave you the image of the decree by Ironsi against people circulating ethnically motivated mockery in the North, a text image from the book and the rendering of the said example of the mockery.

Mind you, there are several examples of those mockery that were circulated. One can’t deny all this self-evident truth when you look at the nature and mannerism of the Ibo man. So this is left for the outside party to decipher.

So far on this thread, I have been able to prove a lot.
—Gave texts from an author that sources his evidences from a university in the same Igbo land giving credence to the fact that the Biafran army massacred the minorities.

—A pictorial evidence showing the destruction by the Biafran forces against the ethnic minorities.

—A video of folks in Rivers state commemorating How Biafran Troops massacred and Evicted Ijaw people in many Ijaw towns like Abonnema and Bakana during the Nigeria Vs Biafra Civil War.

— The decree from Aguiyi Ironsi specifically directed toward the Northern region to stop the mockery by the Ibos in the region. That you can deny something like this that is common knowledge says a lot about you.

—An extract from a journal presenting the findings of the mockery by the Ibos and a rendering of some of the method deployed to aid the mockery.

To all this evidence I presented, you have denied everything saying it’s either fake news, wrong, jargons, and etc.

What we are doing is an academic exercise, people can see those that backed their argument with facts and references and those that just base their thinking on Ibo logic.
- Texts that were very vague and did a good job not providing names of those killed , their villages, and the Biafran Commander or unit involved.

- A pictorial evidence that is contaminated and rendered with surival instincts kicking in , as Ikot Ekpene fell into the FG troops hand. Peeps had to do whatever it took to stay alive and FG had to use them to run their propaganda against Biafra.

- No where were Igbos mentioned in that decree. You are simply pulling that out of your ass. Your desperation is obviously palpable, Mr Fulani.

- A video made by a people who are suffering from pseudologia fantastica.
Let them provide names of people Biafrans massacred, their villages and the Biafran units involved.

Are you aware that Effiong Ojukwu second in command was from Ikot Ekpene?

Ikot Ekpene was laid siege to by Nigerian Army who committed war crimes in that town.
Infact one of the problems Ojukwu had with Effiong was that Ojukwu refused to deploy enough Biafran troops to defend Ikot Ekpene from falling.

I don't know where the picture you posted came from, but it isn't so far away from Nigerian propaganda backed by the British.

Again you are making the mistake.

Whether Nigeria is fighting a Biafra they will come back to their fold OR a Biafra that might secede successfully, it is a war.

Whether the USA is fighting a different country Japan do not justify nuking civilians. It is just a decision they had to take to cripple the imperial Japan seven at the cost of civilian lives (collateral damage).

You either condemn USA nuking Japan, Biafra army killing minorities civilians, Nigeria killing minorities civilian OR you support the three scenarios.

You can’t choose one to support or oppose. It’s not done like that.
You haven't provided any evidence of Biafra killing Minority civilians. Does it even make sense? I mean the likes of Effiong,Kogbara,Mbu etc were highranked minorities in Biafra government, how exactly would Biafra conduct targeted Massacre on their people without them challenging such decisions?
Biafra was not same as Igbo. Biafra had minorities handling critical decisions. Infact the leader of the Radio Biafra Okoko Ndem was from Calabar area too just like Effiong.

The whole talk of Biafra killing Minorities civilians has no substance. If Biafra were, the minority officials in Biafra government would know and they would be the ones telling the world.

So why is Nigeria not nuking entire Borno, Adamawa and Yobe so that the Boko Haram war can end?
Shouldn't those citizens there be used as good collateral damage?
Afterall for we know, Borno might become Independent ISWAP country from Nigeria tomorrow if BOKO succeeds, so why don't we line up all Borno indigenes and massacre them.
Or does this idea only work with Igbos?

That’s because the Igbos don’t think before acting in their majority which is one of the greatest disadvantage you guys are encountering as a tribe.

You kill the tribesleader of other ethnic group and still have the liver for circulating pamphlets of the slain leader in the same North as a mocking mechanism in a very volatile North which had some past history of same.

Action beget consequences and you can’t simulate reaction of people to an injustice against them no matter how small you think it could be.

This is not about me supporting genocide, but I’m just telling you the situation and how human nature work especially when politics is mixed with hate.
You know we have asked for the evidence of Igbos circulating pamphlets of slain Northern leaders since 2007 on this NL.
You forerunners here couldn't provide it.

I also noticed that you lots don't bring up the "Ewu na-ebe Akwa blackmail too, after that one had been debunked, as we know the song came out years before Saraduna murder and that the artist who sang it, was an Ijaw man and not even Igbo.

Yes in Nigeria all is fair in war as long as it’s Igbos that are involved.

The massacre of Igbo civilians all over Nigeria was justified by nzeogu’s coup. But no other groups was massacred when leaders from their tribes committed the same coups.
The Massacre of MASOB and IPOB members by Nigerian military and police for waving Biafran flag was justified by these evil people, until they went on their senseless SARS protest and got served by the same monsters they made.

All this nonsense appeal to pity don’t work on me. So stop saying I’m evil coz I don’t give a bleep about emotions here.

Are all those the Biafrans took from the ethnic minorities soldiers?

All is fair in war and there are even times which the USA have indulged in what they stylishly called collateral Damage.

When they nuked Hiroshima, do you mean they only killed military men? Do you know the civilian casualties in that strike? What about Vietnam?

In war several atrocities are made sometimes under duress and the most barbaric strategies are sometimes deployed based on the situation. I am not denying that Nigeria military committed crimes BUT you should not absolve the Biafrans of their crimes against minorities too.
Well. You can't be dropping a nuke on a people and still want to be country men with them in the future.
USA dropped nuke on Japan because they are two independent countries, and for all it's worth, Japanese were the aggressors who were in alliance with Nazi Germany to invade and rule the world.

Nigeria is not going to kill all the people in Borno because they are habouring Boko Haram or are sympathetic with them, do you know why?
Because Borno people are supposed to be Nigerians. You don't kill your people.

If you are going to unleash massacre on Isheagu and indeed Igbo civilians on Grand scale on account of habouring Biafran soldiers, then you must have determined those civilians are not Nigerians and you can't seriously been seen in the future wondering why they will never embrace your one Nigeria mantra.

You are showing how evil minded you are by openly justifying the killing of civilians.

How can they be sabo when they are not part of the biafran military. If we where to go by your logic, the Nigerian government should have wiped out all the communities and their leaders where boko haram thrives. But you wouldn’t push for that would you?
Good one bro.
When Ihejirika came down hard on the terrorists, they all started crying that he was avenging the Biafra massacre on NORTH.

This is what was written as the reason for the massacre by the OP:
“The sin of the community against the military government of Yakubu Gowon, was the safe haven granted the Biafran soldiers who they termed as enemies.”

Technically, they were sabo too and the Nigeria military dealt with them. Now using you analogy about sabo, why are you guys now crying over this thread since it’s a common occurrence throughout the war?
Nope.
They were not Sabo, because their allegiance were never with Nigeria. You can't label a whole community Sabo and unleash genocide on them. The least you can do is acknowledge them as enemy territory and secure the areas and move on.
They were Igbos, so naturally they were Biafrans unofficially, and worst still, they were not armed and couldn't have even stopped Biafran army march if they wanted.
No time did Ndiigbo raze down any minority community because they were Sabos.
I dare them to post real names of such victims and Biafran unit involved.

And for what is worth. The arrest of Sabos were not restricted to minority areas.
It was a common theme throughout the war.
It was even more violent in Igboland. Ifeajuna family house was razed down and his family members were hunted by angry populace and they had to flee for their lives.
There were more Sabos of Igbo origin arrested by Biafran troops than there could ever be in minority areas.
I mean, Ifeajuna and his Igbo co conspirator as well as Banjo were publicly executed for being Sabo.
I bet if Ifeajuna were minority, it would also be spinned as Igbo genocide on minorities, right?
Very ridiculous.

Additionally, relocation of people from riverine areas to hinterland was done in good faith, which was to limit civilian casualties when Nigerian Army invaded those areas and Biafran troops had to engage them in fierce battle.
Even in Igboland, it was done too.
Communities where Biafran army set ambushes for Nigerian Army were usually evacuated of civilian population to minimize casualties, this should be common sense, but apparently common sense is not common anymore.
