Sufferingboy:They don't claim Ika. They claim Igbanke, then a few claim Bini and a few claim Ika. That's how it is in Igbanke today. By the way, have you agreed that Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia was a proper Bini man? Do you think if he was in any way Ika that Edos would have allowed him rule them in Bendel without grudges? ![]() Bini see you as nothing other than subordinates. You are not expected to rule over them. Ogbemudia was a proper Bini man. He was even buried in Benin City. His mum was Igbanke woman though, so he always had soft spot for Igbanke and wanted them to be in same state as his paternal ethnic group Bini. |
Sufferingboy:His mother is Igbanke, his father is Bini. |
Ekealterego:Glad you are beginning to see what I saw that made me to become angry at any suggestion of Biafra with minorities. |
Sufferingboy:The Igbankes of today claim Igbanke is a distinct ethnicity. A few claim Ika while a significant amount claim Bini. So No, Igbanke of today is not Ika. |
ThumbzTNA:Ogbemudia is a Bini man. Only his mum is from Igbanke. |
biafranrealson:Ihe nkea o mai mai Oka. The man is obviously drunk. |
Afriifa:It was a hyperbole. Nothing deep. No hate from this corner bro, only best wishes. |
ThumbzTNA:Why exactly are you exaggerating their worse and minimizing their advantages? I think they would be fine if they curtail Ijaw and Edo expansionist agenda. The Akwa-Cross should be better off in such confederation arrangement with their fellow minorities. I want me an Igbo only country biko. |
ThumbzTNA:I think Ndiigbo should encourage minorities to make Niger Delta republic work, as far as they keep Egbema, Obiigbo,Isobo(Cross River) and Aniocha/Oshimili out of it until a referendum is conducted in those parts of Igbo land. I seriously believe Niger Delta republic can work if they adopt the Switzerland confederation structure. They can be divided into the following federations: 1. Ijawland. 2. Edo/ Edoid land (Including Urhobo, Isoko, Ika, Ikwerre, Ekpeye, and any other Bini claiming group out there) 3. Ibibio ( including Oron,Ibeno, Efik) 4. Northern Cross River confederation ( involving all non Ibibiod groups in Cross River central and North) They will have four different presidents for each confederation all belonging to a presidential council where by one of them are chosen as ceremonial president in four year rotation tenure where the other three retain the post of VP at confederation level but remain president of their own federation. They will also have four capitals. 1.Benin City for Edoland 2.Kolokuma for Ijawland( This is because Yenegoa is still under contention by the Binis, maybe Ijaws can do exchange with Bini, in which they let go Olodiama for Bini to let go Yenegoa. 3. Calabar for Ibibio land 4. Ogoja for Northern Cross River. Problem here will only be Ijaw and Edo expansionist agenda. Ijaw is already claiming Ibeno and Eastern Obolo, which are obvious Ibibio territories, while Edo are claiming Yenegoa, Gelegele(Olodiama kingdom) which would pitch them against the Ijaws. These problems are not something they can't resolve in matured table deliberation and negotiations. God bless Niger Delta republic. |
eduj:Well, he just denied it. That's a good way to go. https://thenationonlineng.net/we-didnt-attack-imo-police-headquaters-correctional-centre-ipob/ I can now rest. |
Madness. So your solution to Miyetti and Boko haram roaming free in North is to set criminals free to roam in SE? Kedu ihe mmadu ji isi kotelu Ndi IPOB? Which kind of stupid reasoning is this? Who would be attacked, robbed and raped by the criminals in that prison you sent free? Hausa Fulanis or fellow Igbos? Do these people think things through before saying them? Ikegwuru. |
EzeNri:You are not making sense. So rather than build on your success, you would rather have it demolished and restart allover again. You can reject Nigeria vehemently and still build wealth and develop. Catalonia is an example. You don't need to turn SE to Sambisa to show you want Biafra badly. You turn her to most developed region in Nigeria to show Nigerians you are a class above them and want no unity with them. Good you believe UGM is not ESN, because I'm here praying and hoping they are not. Because if they are, they will lose support base in SE quickly. Not even their shouts of Sabo on dissenting Igbo voices will save them. We want Biafra and we want development. We also know we can have them both same time. We will not exchange one for the other. If MNK and IPOB can not deliver both of them without sacrificing one, then they should step aside. Simple. |
EzeNri:When the markets dry up because of lack of customers, when many youths become jobless, and resort to crime. When you can no longer walk down your street without being attacked by hoodlums looking to feed, when all you see around you is hunger, despair and squalor. Then it will concern you. Nonsense. ![]() |
goatgoat093:We are business men. You don't burst your scrotum because a fly perched on it. That's stupidity. We have big markets in SE that depend on patronage of people from far and wide in Nigeria, West Africa and even Cameroon to thrive. Many of our youths depend on these markets to survive. Business requires peaceful environment which is why SE has been the most peaceful region in Nigeria for decades now. If you destroy the peace in SE. Our markets will run out of customers and people will starve. As no one will risk his or live coming to a war zone for trading. No sensible Igbo will support UGM activities because all you will do is turn SE to chaos. If IPOb is behind UGM, then I promise you , you will lose your support in SE faster than a harlot pant drops at the sight of a rich man. We will not allow some one in London to render our markets empty and our youths jobless and hungry. That's madness. What's you plan? Turn us to paupers in the name of senseless freedom fight? Catalonia is the richest region in Spain while maintaining her hostility to Madrid government and retained her search for independence from Spain. You can develop, get rich, build infrastructures, etc, while still pursing your freedom. Ala agbakwana unu o! Una better be careful o. ![]() |
seunmsg:What's this random tweet supposed to prove? What is wrong with you? |
EzeNri:If this is what IPOB hierarchy believe, then they need to stress on this during MNK broadcasts on Radio Biafra. Every iota of doubt of IPOb and ESN being UGM has to be strongly dispelled by IPOB and Kanu. This is very important if they want to keep the support ESN enjoy in SE high as it currently is. They should know Ndiigbo are democrats. Our support can be withdrawn and ESN will suffer as well as our farmers. He should take this rumour of UGM being ESN serious. Many Igbos will not support UGM and you know that. |
EzeNri:MNK and IPOB need to do more on the media to prove to us that IPOB and ESN have no hand in UGM. There is need for public accountability. There should be no room for guess and doubts. ESN is beginning to gain total acceptance in Igbo land before this UGM saga. If IPOB and Kanu don't do enough to dispel rumours of UGM being ESN, many people who are passively supportive of ESN in the East will withdraw their support. We have to tell ourselves the truth, most times when UGM attack police, I see many IPOB associated handles in Facebook rejoicing on individual capacity. It might just be they are happy that the police men who were unfair to them are being bullied by an Unknown enemy, a case of Schadenfreude. But to neutrals, the line between seeing IPOB members merely rejoicing over UGM activities and UGM being an extension of ESN is already blurred. Many Igbos too are becoming concerned. We support ESN on the basis that they would operate on the bushes to rid our farmlands of herdsmen. No one should mistake that for total power to do and undo as his heart wishes. |
Darkcloud11:This thread is supposed to be an interactive post. If you believe the UGM are ESN/IPoB, I would like you to present a rational and compelling argument to support your view. If you think they are FG agents, I expect you to do same. No one mentioned war here. Stop shouting war up and down. Igbo land is the only region in Nigeria before that have seen war before, in case you don't know, you can't scare Ndiigbo with war. We have been there before and came out strong. Focus on the topic and leave your war threat. No one has monopoly to violence, every human is capable of violence if you press his button hard enough. |
seunmsg:Who are the "We" in your post? You are not Igbo neither do you live in SE, but you are sure that UGM are IPOB/ESN. Are you listening to yourself? Kanu had also publicly declared that UGM are not ESN or IPOB, why are you not taking him by his word here as well, or you choose to run along with his words that justify your innate agenda while you ignore the ones that don't? |
I have three theories on who the Unknown Gunmen could be. 1. The Federal Government. They want to get a justifiable reason to invade SE again and maybe declare a state of emergency in the region this time around in order to flush out the ESN from the bush. Killing policeman, burning police stations will be a veritable way to go about it. They will wreck those havoc and label it on ESN to justify their terrorist tag on the group and to invade the region. We have seen this tactics before from the FG during the peaceful end SARS protest where by hoodlums were unleashed to go and join peaceful protesters and then to start destroying and defacing public infrastructure and property including roadside vehicles, in other to tag the protesters violent and justify the government planned violent clamp down on them using the military and police. Substitute the EndSARs protesters with ESN, and the hoodlums employed and with UGM(Unknown Gunmen)and you have similar scenario. People point out that UGM appeared just when ESN surfaced, and therefore UGM must be ESN. Its a good point. But on the other hand, it could as well be argued that UGM are controlled by those who want to neutralize ESN by tainting their public image and linking them with crimes rather than herdsmen fight, how else could you explain sudden appearance of UGM just when ESN is starting to enjoy total support from SE commoners and elites. And who could harbour such motive, the FG? 2. ESN. ESN needs weapons for its operation, police stations and police men harbour weapons, albeit outdated ones, could ESN be attacking police as a source of weapon supply for ESN operations? It is also true that members of ESN had lost lots of family members and friends to Nigerian police and military during their peaceful protest days when they only had flags as weapons and hence many of them harbour deep seated vendetta against the Nigerian police. Many even know the identity of the police men and military men that massacred peaceful and flag bearing IPOB protesters in the past. Just maybe, this is them(IPOB) trying to get even with the Nigerian police now that they have gotten hold of weapons. A case of score settling? Secondarily, many of these prisons harbour members of IPOB whose only crime was being caught with Biafran flags and other Biafra themed objects. ESN might be trying to exact justice by themselves by attacking this prison to free up IPOB members wrongfully jailed and to have them enlist into the ESN to swell their ranks. Furthermore, it's no secret that MNK had made it clear that he and IPOB would no longer tolerate the SE being treated as war zone by Nigerian military and police where by there are endless checkpoints all over the region extorting commuters and escalating the final cost of goods and services the consumers in the region has to pay as the business people have to recoup the money spent on paying the Nigerian military and police men at these checkpoints. IPOB didn't say exactly how they intend to rid SE of police and military check points, but that's exactly what the UGM are doing, coincidence? If you ask me, nah who I go ask ![]() 3. Just Unknown Gunmen. Third and final theory. The Unknown Gunmen could as well just be unknown gun men. Criminal elements just doing their criminal activities with both IPOB and FG not in anyway involved but both looking at how to use the activities of the UGM to do propaganda and achieve their own set goals. Either way, time will eventually reveal who are behind the UGM as IPOB and ESN had since distanced themselves from their activities. |
Sufferingboy:Can you show me the letter where Ohaneze called Irabor Igbo? Ohanaeze merely congratulated him on his post while reminding Buhari that he is yet to appoint an Igbo. They also in same letter congratulated other appointed chiefs. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2021/01/29/ohanaeze-lauds-buhari-on-selection-of-new-service-chiefs/amp/ |
Soolmus:No Igbo man sees anywhere else outside his fathers land in the village as homeland. As in, an Igbo man from Nkpor does not recognize Ogidi or Onitsha as homeland. When an Igbo man dies, he must be buried in his compound or that of his father at the village. No Igbo man sees anywhere outside Igbo land as homeland. The whole "no man's land" thing is designed by Ndiigbo to rile people like you who shout one Nigeria up. Ndiigbo live in cities and not in people bushes, even if an Igbo man finds himself in a rural area, he would build his house close to the natives and not deep inside their farmlands. If for any reason you give Ndiigbo empty piece of land to build their shops. You can be sure they would reinvest 50% of their profit from that market in that your community. They would build good houses, improve the real estate value there, attract banks, build private schools, have Churches, before you know it,the place becomes a beehive of activities, generating decent tax return to the government. The rise in real estate value in the area would make the natives sell proximity lands to the Igbos. When they are done spending the money from their land proceeds, they become angry that the Igbo man is now controlling their land and prospering there. In few years, talks of Igbo domination fills the air and plans are hatched by indigenes to dispossess the Igbo of their property and investments in the area. This is why Ndiigbo are being advised to stop investing outside Igbo land today, as it does nothing but attract envy and hate of the natives. Do you business and repatriate profit to Igbo land and reinvest. The Northerners do this well. They have cow markets everywhere in South where they make millions, but go to these their Garikis and all you see is shanties and squalor. They don't invest shishi in the area. This means they don't attract the envy of the natives who don't see them living good life in their land. |
SaintBishop:Lol! Ogoni came from Ghana just yesterday bro. How exactly was Obiigbo Ogoni land? You okay? Not a single village in Obiigbo is Ogoni. |
Sufferingboy:We don't know of your existence. We don't share boundary with you. We are not your brother, neither are we your neighbours. We don't know how you abandoned your Bini language and corrupted ours. We just want you to stay in your lane. We are like a mirror, we reflect back to you whatever you place before us. If you come out with Igbophobic mindset, we will neutralize you with Ikaphobic one. Just chill and make peace with your Bini ![]() Our brothers are Aniocha/Oshimili, they know us and we know them. Ka chineke mezie okwu. |
PROUDIGBO:He might be Ika. His behavior is not different from that of an average Ika person. If in doubt visit Onu Ika and other Ika forums and go through their archives there. He might be an impostor but his behavior is quintessential Ika behavior, so if he really is an impostor, then he is representing Ika people very well. |
ThumbzTNA:Exactly the opinion of sensible Igbos. |
Sufferingboy:Lol! Ika are no brother to Ndiigbo. We don't send or know una. You are just a Bini man whose ancestors lost your Bini language. Better embrace your Bini brothers, because the hostility you will get from this Igbo generation will shock you. We are not like our parents. |
Tranquillity360:Not all of them are Yorubas. The Urhobos, Isokos, Itsekiris are quick to claim positive news coming from Oshimili/Aniocha as Deltan achievement, but are quick to deny any bad news from there as Igbo. So to them Nzeogwu is Igbo and not Deltan. But Okonjo Iweala or Okocha is "Our Delta people" and not Igbos. Again, some of us have to start understanding that the Yorubas don't really harbour more Igbophobia than these southern minorities. You can't just brand any Igbophobic comment you see on this forum as Yoruba. There is no difference between the outlook of an average Yoruba and minorities towards Ndiigbo. In fact from my own observation, the minorities are even worst. |
Well OP. Unlike IPOB. I support the Babelian Niger Delta republic of thousand ethnic minorities. However as per your post. Obiigbo is not part of your Babelian republic. Obiigbo is Ndoki and Asaland and these are Igbo clans. Worry less about Obiigbo and worry more about your lands. God bless Niger Delta republic. |
Tranquillity360: ![]() It should have been Delta coup since Nzeogwu is a Deltan and not Igbo according to Igbophobic lots. ![]() |
