chrisxxx:Ikwerre led by Elechi Amadi Ogbakor Ikwerre told the whole world that Ikwerre came from Bini. Nyesom Wike recently went to Bini and repeated same. I don't know where you get the idea that na Igbo man is trying to force Igbo identity on you. Dude you lots are not that important and since I was born and now getting old, I have never seen Ndiigbo send recruitment team to Ikwerre land to recruit Ikwerres as Igbos. All I have seen is deceitful Ikwerres claiming Igbo and forcing themselves on Ndiigbo. We have the likes of Uche Okwukwu and co in Ohanaeze Ndiigbo, fraudulently reaping where they never sowed. No Igbo man ever forced Ikwerre to be Igbo. Lol! Rather we are saying we are not related with you lots. Don't confuse Ndiigbo with IPOB who are in the habit of following you around. The typical Igbo society is one that thrives on exclusion and not on inclusion, which is why even amongst us we still have squabbles of who is original Igbo and who isn't. The Finish have never denied that they are if same ancestry as the swedish, Dannish and Iceland and Norwegians, they are all called Scandinavians, the Vikings of the old. The Portuguese and Spanish languages are just Pidgin Latin languages. It's akin to Pidgin English used in Edo and the one used in Cross River for example. Latin was a colonial language imposed on the aboriginals tribes of Iberian pennisula by the Roman empire. By the time the Roman empire was done, the independent tribes of Iberia had lost their aboriginal languages and adopted the Pidgin forms of Latin they spoke as native languages. That's how Portuguese and Spanish languages came about. They are just pidgin Latin. Is this same as Igbo and Ikwerre? Did anyone rule both us and imposed the language? Nope. You are Bini people who migrated to this part of Africa, lost your Bini language on your way down and here and subsequently got gifted the beautiful lgbo language by my ancestors. The same beautiful language your Bini ancestors mutilated with their Bini tongues to be left with the stuff you call Ikwerre language today. |
chrisxxx:One simple question to know who mutilated whose language. Do they speak Igbo in Bini kingdom the land of your Ikwerre ancestors? ![]() |
chrisxxx:Lol! Says a man whose ancestors lost their Bini language and now speak a mutilated version of mine. |
Unik3030:Nnamdi spoke as a representative of a political party called NCNC which was a national party with members from Western, Eastern and Northern region. He didn't speak as an Igbo representative. There is nothing to read. |
chrisxxx:Please there is no special tie between Ndiigbo and Ikwerre that doesn't exist between Ndiigbo and Annang, Igala, Efik, Ogoja, Idoma, etc. Don't flatter yourselves. You are not that significant. The only reason you are in conversation is only because your Ikwerre ancestors were unable to do the simplest of things expected of a group, which is to evolve your own independent language like the Annang and Igalas who we even share more with, did. And by the way, there is nothing Ikwerre has to offer other than hate, treachery and deceit for Igbos to harness from. |
Unik3030:Which Igbo ancestor fought against secession clause? What bullshit are you talking about? Are you okay at all? |
Unik3030:And who and who were signatories to this constitution? A people have divine right to their own sovereignty and self determination. Your constitution means nothing in the face of Igbo nation sovereignty and self determination. |

Amaechi is just a typical treacherous Ikwerre man. They become Igbo when convenient and quickly reverse to non Igbo and even outrightly Igbo hating when it's expedient. No difference between him and Wike and indeed all Ikwerre people. Ndiigbo should always make it a point to correct Amaechi and his fellow Ikwerre con people that they are not Igbo, anytime they try to claim Igbo in public. Dalukwa nu! |
By Ochereoma Nnanna IN December 2012, the Item community in Abia North honoured Arumma Oteh, then Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC. I attended that ceremony in the company of the then CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; Alex Otti, Diamond Bank GMD and other friends. Then-Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, flew in with a helicopter. The highlight of the event, for me, was when Item High Chief, Prof. Joe Irukwu, took the microphone to personally honour and introduce Amaechi when it was his turn to say a few nice words for Arumma. Irukwu described Amaechi correctly as the “high-performing” Governor of Rivers and a “true Igbo son”. But when Amaechi took the mike he “corrected” Irukwu and emphasised: “I am an Ikwerre man!” That really ruffled feathers. Fast-forward to the 2015 electioneering activities. Amaechi’s preferred traditional attire had changed from the Bonny/Opobo regalia to the core Igbo one of “Isi Agu” and red cap. It has remained so to date. Amaechi, one of the founding fathers of the All Progressives Congress, APC, brought Muhammadu Buhari, the party’s presidential candidate, to Aba. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2020/07/chibuike-amaechi-ndi-igbo-and-2023/amp/ |
Mrjuice:This is mad. How could Anambra leaders have allowed this to happen. It's disgraceful. So it's not enough that they carved out oil producing regions out of SE and into Rivers State, they are now drilling oil from parts of SE and declaring it as belonging to Delta and Rivers! The guts! ![]() |
Tobrasky:Nope. You missed the first part. Yorubas( Tinubu and ACN) had to demarket PDP and GEJ in SW to pave way for Buhari popularity in the region. They did this by frustrating GEJ and PDP attempt to make a Yoruba PDP member, named Mulikat, the speaker of the house. They all joined hand to make Tambuwal the speaker of the house, ensuring that SW had no top post in GEJ government. Then they turn around and blame GEJ for marginalizing Yorubas, and used it as Agenda to sell anti GEJ/Igbophobic narratives to their people back home. That Agenda helped Buhari make inroads in SW which eventually led to his victory in 2015. Once Buhari won, Yorubas were here dancing and were cheering all Buhari Government anti Igbo agenda. ![]() These people are insufferable. |
Minjim:You are not intelligent. This thread was about Tinubu short-sightedness that decided to shortchange Mulikat in other to bury PDP in Southwest and pave way for ACN merger with CPC. Your marginalization in GEJ tenure was planned and marshalled by Tinubu to demarket PDP and GEJ in SW, and it worked. If was a gamble that paid off, since Buhari won later. And you were all gathering here like Hawks to dance your Schadefreude dance of shame when Buhari was marginalizing Ndiigbo. Now your Buhari reggae has turned to blues, you are here trying to spin narratives. |
Kirigidi:IPOB has members from Urhobo,Isoko, Ijaw, Ibibio, Efik, etc . All signing IPOB communiques too. Does it mean that those non Igbo IPOB executives truly represents the will of their own people? Ika and maybe Ukwuani and Ndokwa West LGA might go with Niger Delta over BIAFRA. But Aniocha and Oshimili with Ndokwa East would most likely on the Majority rise with BIAFRA, and once they do, Ika, Ukwuani and Ndokwa East would reluctantly tag along with them. |
Sounds exactly like what Awolowo told Ojukwu before the war. I hope Kanu Nnamdi and IPOB are not as naive as Ojukwu. I support Odua republic, and Niger Delta republic. But let Ndiigbo not pin our hopes on these two groups. They might all hate Nigeria, but their Igbophobia trumps their hate for Nigeria and is their only unifying force. The North knows this and know how to utilize it. Ndiigbo should act like we are alone and not count on support of any non Igbo part of the country to achieve our independence. Ndewo nu. |
Elliot2:Someone who finally speaks the Truth. |
olatuns2017:What are you on about. Biafrans fly the flag all over the streets of Europe, North America and Asia. Stop being unnecessarily bitter, you will just die for nothing. BIAFRA is bigger than you and your bitterness. Iheanacho is being careful and wise. He can't politicize his football career, there are just too much at risk. He would just play along, but deep inside, we know where his allegiance lie. |
Interesting. Time will always justify Ndiigbo. We always stand by the truth. |
Efewestern:Common sense is obviously not common anymore. Efe or whoever that is founder of Orogun doesn't have any relationship beyond inter marriage with Umukwata. You don't need any distorted oral history to know this, common sense should tell you that. In the past when you marry from a place and want to establish a new settlement, it is not uncommon to invite your in-laws to come and live with your new family to provide security in numbers. This was how it used to be in the time past. This was how the relationship between Orogun and Ukwuani came about. They(Ukwuani) were and have always been distinct people from Urhobos with distinct language, names and world view. I know what you Edoids are up to with your subtle historical distortions. Efi means cow and has nothing to do with Efe like I told you. There are even alternate history that suggests that Orogun founder was indeed an Igboid speaking Ukwuani man and not an Urhobo man. The only way Amai, Umukwata and Orogun would have blood relationship is if the above version of the history is right. Which would eventually make Orogun a traditionally Igboid town that got overrun by Edoids. It would also explain why traditional ruler of Orogun goes by the Igboid title of Okpara uku and not Ovie, and why the community that produces the Okpara uku in Orogun have the ancient Igbo trademark of "Umu" prefix for naming placest, in Orogun case, the village that produces the Okpara uku of the town is called Umusu. It wouldn't be the first in the region. Afterall we know that the founders of Igbide, an Isoko speaking town today, were also originally Igbo speaking people. We even see this in the encroachment of Isoko speakers into Igbo speaking communities in Ndokwa East which has led to land disputes in those places recently. You as an Edoid man who if dropped in Ukwuani land cannot communicate with the locals without Pidgin English, cannot accuse a proud Igbo man like myself whose ancestors imprints in UKWUANI land( which means I can safely land in Ukwuani land and hold a reasonable conversation with the people by just using central Igbo language), of interference in Ukwuani matters. You as an Urhobo cannot claim to have more rights to intervene on Ukwuani discussions than me. |
Sufferingboy:Igbos don't usually play local league. We go big or go home. In terms of numbers, you have more percentage of your youths in Yahoo business, while the Igbo has more in number of high end players in the game. We naturally go big. In the East,a youth growing up and who can't go to University has the option to join trade( Igba boyi, which has even been studied by Havard University) or join Yahoo HK. All the option the Edo/Delta Edoid have is to join an HK, or Maybe try trek to Italy or Spain via Libya/Morocco deserts. |
Sufferingboy:We are learners where Edo boys and their Edoid (Urhobo and Isoko) Delta cousins are. |
Sufferingboy:Lol! Tell that to the dogs. They plant Marijuana because it's a money spinning business. They are greedy and want easy money too. Just that they don't really have the wits like their cousins in East on how to go about it in more diverse ways. The marijuana way they discovered, all of them are going into it. Speaking of Greed. Is the entire Delta and Edo not the headquarters of Yahoo business in Southern Nigeria today, with HKs springing up everywhere and lazy but greedy youths all looking out for quick money without hard work all embracing the criminality? You are just angry you lots don't Know how to get rich through criminal methods like many Igbo youths do. The few avenues your discovered, ie Marijuana and Yahoo, all your youths want to die put on top of it. You don't have a higher moral ground than Igbos you like to malign, you are just not as sharp witted as Igbos in discovering and exploiting criminally existing but not easily noticed loopholes to acquire quick money. Cry me a river bro. Oka mmadu kalili chi ya! Go tell your Bini people to interpret that for you. . My ancestors colonized you by making you subservient to my language. Ighota go? We live rent free in your heads, in your names, your town names, etc.Okika diba na gboo! |
Ishilove:I'm here because Igbo was mentioned and because an Urhobo man is trying to claim that a town with "Umu" ( an obvious proto Igbo town naming preffix, just like "Shire" is to the Anglo-Saxons) is descended from Urhobos. ![]() That's a blatant history distortion and disrespect to my Igbo ancestors who left their footprint in those places for me as a descendant to defend them. I would have failed as a descendant if I allowed an Edoid Urhobo man erase such a glorious footprint without resisting him. ![]() If you don't want Igbo interference in your small towns. Fuc.k off our names and all vestiges of our footprints in your towns and your language. ![]() |
Ishilove:Says a rabidly chronic Igbophobic woman. All your existence in NL, all you have done is spread Igbophobia. That Igbo man that shattered your heart really did you 30. Me I would do you 40. ![]() |
Sufferingboy:When Ezeh Obi Ossai was telling the British that his Aboh kingdom people were Eboes and that he Eze Ossai was the king of all Eboes, no Igbo man have even met with the British. Lol! I wonder who is forcing whatever identity on anyone. You can change your identity today. It is well within your rights and should be respected. But you must also recognize that shared history should remain sacrosanct and that one party doesn't have the right to change shared history without the other objecting. Ukwuani can stop being Igbo and start being Hausa , Urhobo or whatever they want. No Igbo man gives a dead rat. Not me atleast. But what you can't do is start claiming that anyone forced your ancestors to accept they were of same stock with the people you call Igbos today and that they were same people too. You can stop being Igbo, but you will not be allowed to denature the above history without resistance from us. You should not mistake our resistance for us forcing you to be Igbo. Get over yourselves, you are not that important . We are merely setting the records right. |
Sufferingboy:Yet it is Ukwuani land that is the headquarters of weed growing business and not Igboland. I reckon that if Cocaine plant can grow there, they would plant it as well. But we are supposed to believe they are not greedy? Ika is vastly very underdeveloped. Your Bojiboji town is not even at Okigwe standard. Your politicians have greedily impoverished your masses so much that when you see average Igbo trader living large in your towns, your heart becomes filled with bitterness and you go about saying that the Igbo is greedy to cover and make your self feel comfortable in your laziness. |
Sufferingboy:No Igboman is interested in claiming Ukwuani. Many of us don't count Ukwuani in Igboland, we understand the Igbophobic sentiments prevalent there that has been encouraged and entrenched by Urhobos and other Nigerians. Ndokwa East seem to be less Igbophobic as I have met more Igbo nationalists from there than any other part of Ndokwa/Ukwuani. Every historical book out there listed Aboh kingdom as an Ebo kingdom. Obi Ossai of Aboh told the British that he and his people were Igbos. Infact in Sierre Leone, the Igbo slaves there considered Aboh as the capital of Igboland. We understand that things change and a people have the right to recalibrate their affinity. But you don't have the right to change shared history just to do that. That Ukwuani and Ndokwa ( I use both separately because I understand there is a sharp difference between both and that both are also in a form of identity crisis with Ndokwa East insisting they are distinct from Ukwuanis) were fully identified as Igbo in the past is true. That Eze Obi Ossai the most powerful king in the region affirmed to the British that Aboh kingdom were of same stock as the rest of Igbo clans East of the Niger when the British visited him is also a fact. That Ukwuani/Ndokwa people today for reasons best Known to them are no longer comfortable with the Igbo tag is also true. That they have the rights to be whoever they want to be, and should be respected for that, is also true. But that they have the right to twist shared history between them and Igbos east of Nigeria and with even the proud Igbos in Enu-ani, is also false. It is in arguing the above that the inferiority complex Igbophobic Ukwuani person get the feeling that Igbos are forcing him/her to be Igbo, when all Igbos are doing is setting the records right. |
Sufferingboy:So you do agree that criminality exists every where and that your Ika people are not saints? |
