protechonline:
Sponsor the survey of 300Acres at Obafemi Owode Local Govt, Ogun State (Ogunbiyi and Atan Kekere Village) and get almost 300 Plots in return.

Here is the deal, there is 100 acres at Ogunbiyi village and 200 acres at Atan Kekere village. You pay 400 and 500k respectively as owo iwoko for the families. A Surveyor and another Baale will do the Survey of the lands. When they done, family gives you 70% of the land returns and the baale/surveyor gets the 30%. That is out of 300plots for 300acres you get 210 plots. You pay Agents (myself and colleagues 10% in Land 21plots and #1million). Sir in all you still make more money because a land with Survey (Red Copy lodged) is #500K per plot. Am seriously broke now if not would have done the deal.

08024273381, 08034597289, protechestates@gmail.com
300 plots is not 300 acres, there should be roughly 6 plots in an acre. Bad packaging can ruin business

All the best in your quest.

@OP, please leave that guy ASAP. You already got some good advice on the planning, waiting for 7 years hoping he would change has cost you a lot but you don't know yet. Kids should grow in an environment filled with love not hostility, you would leave if you love your kids and yourself.

Separation is good, as it will afford him the opportunity to seek help but you need to spell out the terms of the marriage after you leave and let him know that he must see a psychologist for some clean up. You are better off staying away from him if he would not be willing to follow through the "treatment" to make him human again.

Don't know if you have brothers or other men in the family, this is the time to open up and get some support that will build your confidence to take action. Do not delay!

It'll be a separate structure entirely.

Could the town planing folks do a drive by and notice that "hey wait a dang monuto, this ain't what we approved!"
The right thing to do is to check with them and get a re-approval if required, also helps your peace of mind. I did a reno in Ibadan and it was assessed a major reno (had off the record convo with one of the town planning folks back then); a separate structure could be considered as requiring a re-approval.
The folks do go around, especially to locations where they have given approval to build; just to see if there is a deviation that would enable them chop.
Cost of re-approval will be smaller than "using church mind" if they show up.

Happy New Year!
FamilyRe: Upside Down Marriage by igbonla(m): 1:35am On Dec 26, 2015
@ OP,

The short answer to all the confusion in your house is that your wife is psychotic, it will get worse except she gets treatment. The two issues below, extracted from your narrative, made this conclusion possible:
- "so I was checking one of the cupboard in our room and I saw somethings she got from a native doctor, they include a bottle of concosion with the label witches and wizards destroying oil,the second one was two of her bathing soap with burnt candle on it when I looked at the soap closely I saw small cross buried inside, the third thing I saw was the complimentary card of the native doctor".
- "presently she is fighting with a lady in her former church the lady is a leader in the church.she said the lady has been attacking her in the dream and anytime they lady sees her the lady calls her prostitute".

She is seeing and fighting imaginary enemies, this won't stop until she finds a solution. Her accusing you of certain acts also supports this and she may get to a point of fatally attacking you. She has mental health problem and needs help.

Your biggest challenge will be in helping her since she won't agree that she is mentally ill (she is not mentally ill if she easily agree to see a doctor). What you do if she disagree will be the major decision for you.

Some plan of action you can consider:
-Talk to a doctor or psychologist about your observations
- Talk to her parents sharing input from the doctor/psychologist, if there is an inference of psychosis by the doctor.
- With or without her parents, you may have to drag her to the hospital for necessary treatment

In the interim, minimize confrontation. Let her have the impression of being in control. Secure your life (sleep in another room, locked when you are sleeping). Be extremely vigilant. PRAY for wisdom!

Wish you best of luck.
BusinessRe: CBN Considers Ending Dollar Cash Sales To BDCs by igbonla(m): 1:05am On Dec 26, 2015
MAURI:
@igbonla

Nigeria is a “net” import country, even with our abundant crude, we are not in the position to meet local need due to the fact that we hardly have any operational refinery. Meaning that we incur huge costs associated with export / import crude and refined products that are paid in USD. Which in turn means that to acquire the USD (forex) needed to fund this process, Nigeria has to sell Naira to the market, and by so doing flooding the exchange market with more Naira in exchange for USD.
Simple law of demand and supply. Putting more pressure on the Naira. (Just to mention one simple example)

I as much as I agree with your point on the prosecution of offenders, there are also major flaws in the system and policies. And just catching and sentencing a few people to jail terms is rather simplistic and symbolic.

Further, for the Nigerian government to continue to subsidize imported finished oil products and at the same time subsidize the Naira are draconian tasks that cannot be sustained considering the huge drop in the price of crude which accounts for 70-75% of the government’ revenue.
Jailing offenders cannot be simplistic! Cleaning up the house is a major issue, even when we had "abundance" of forex. Yes, there are major flaws in the system but I am not here to discuss our "sad" situation in its entirety but only focusing on the topic here - ending dollar cash sales to BDCs. There are other reasons why CBN is going that way and we can expand the discussion into that.

As of this week, I could not even get PTA before leaving Nigeria, then the exchange rate at the ATM abroad can at best be described as murder!
While government is fixing the flaws, we must get forex for the basics such as PTA, mortgage, medical bills and school fees except if CBN wants to come out and out rightly ban the use of forex for all that so we all stop any form of international relationship!

I am a firm believer in capitalism, Naira needs to find its level, petroleum products management must be deregulated, etc but citizens must hold the government accountable on how the resources are managed. I do not see how a cosmetic approach such as ending dollar sales to BDC would solve the problem of forex management.

By the way, the reason given by CBN for the action is partly because of the conduct of the BDC, and this can be easily fixed via necessary sanctions.
BusinessRe: CBN Considers Ending Dollar Cash Sales To BDCs by igbonla(m): 7:04am On Dec 12, 2015
echelons:
A lot of people do not even understand the reason for BDCs in the first place.

BDCs were originally intended to be recipient of foreign currency (FX - Foreign Exchange) from the CBN so they can sell at at margin to the public for the SOLE aim of personal travel allowance (PTA). This was when there was very little means of making personal purchases outside the country with the Naira.

This initiative was basterdized by the BDCs because of very weak policies and monitoring by the CBN. BDCS rather than selling FX to individuals (to the max of $4000 per quarter) they now started selling to small(and sometimes big) businesses and illegal outfits.

FX for businesses, imports and other invisible payments(like school fees, medical treatment, payment for service, etc) are to be monitored by the CBN through the use of Form M and Form A obtained from the banks which require some form of documentation, but these businesses end up sourcing their FX from the BDCs thereby hiding their intent/purpose for such purchases.

Every Tom , Dick and Harry business started running to the BDCs for FX to import all manner of rubbish into the country (even things that could easily be sourced locally started getting imported because BDCs were funding them without recourse to any economic implications. A lot of these imported items end up being seized/burnt by the customs and the money wasted). With increasing demand for FX by these businesses and illegal outfits on BDCs, the margin started increasing too. And we are where we are today - NGN260 to $1. Dearth in local production because everything is imported. Improper documentation of business activities, loss of revenue to the government, and most importantly, untraceable funds that may have gone to terrorism.

Solution. We have gone beyond cash based transaction as most banks now offer cards that can be used on foreign platforms for making payments. The issuance of cash FX to customers for whatever reason should be stopped. BDCs should be phased out as there is no need for them again.

Benefits -
Enhanced monitoring of cash.
Only businesses with valid need for importation of allowed goods will be availed FX by the use of Form M.

This is a laudable initiative by the CBN and should be strictly monitored.

PS.
A lot of these BDC agents are approaching bankers and soliciting random customers' BVNs and corresponding names.
The problem has never been with these policies but with the practitioners, one of the key reasons anything hardly works in Nigeria is because Nigerians always creatively devise the means to circumvent a good policy.
All CBN need no is to catch a couple of scapegoats (via investigating a couple of BVN purchasing forex from the BDCs), make them lose their deposits, throw them in jail and everybody gets the message.

The banks will also be crooked or are already crooked in the sale of forex, my application (backed with form A) for mortgage payment is in its 4th week with no end in sight. Why should mortgage payment be rocket science after submitting all the mortgage documents with some sensitive information! First 3 weeks has been stories of no forex, what are we supposed to do and why should legitimate transactions suffer due to bad supervision and management of the forex policy?

I wish the government well and pray for them to succeed but I want to be alive to reap the fruits of my prayers and wishes. Tossing us around is not good for our health.

Mastercard and visa that I mentioned are for petty expenses, if you are a student just ask your bank with relevant document to make transfer of dollar or pound equivalent through your account to the institution abroad, if you are an importer just ask your bank for form M with relevant document, if you are travelling abroad on holidays or official trip just fill the form A with relevant document you will be given up to $10000 PTA

Such policies need to be put in place because the BDC have turn to be the number 1 source of money trafficking and laundry by government officials
$10,000 PTAhuh You definitely have no idea what you are communicating here and should just stop!

After work I hangout late just to ensure I spend a lot of time alone before I go home and face angry wife. Force my self to drink so I could sleep without thinking much.
Dude, I read your narrative yesterday and refused to drop a comment until now. Few things to share with you here.

I strongly condemn the beating you gave your wife, there is no need for that. It is dangerous, does not make things better and can end up turning you to a killer. You must manage your emotions all the time and leave her presence if things get too toxic, there is almost no alternative to this idea. Beating people up is a sign of a damaged life

Having written the above, I support all other actions you took (letting her go to her parent's house) so both of you can think things over. The things you listed in your original post that your wife does are great signs of verbal abuse and you will not be able to deal with it properly until you are able to identify that your wife is verbally abusing you. Getting angry at little things and giving cold shoulders for days are terrible signs in a relationship and should not be overlooked. The need to have control is often times the foundation of these problems, you cannot change this woman, in fact any attempt to change her will leave you frustrated and put you on a train of emotional wreck.

Abusive women can hardly change because women are naturally empathetic, losing that part of them points at some psychological problems that are often difficult to manage (not resolve) except via long term therapy.
Sorry if my comment here does not give hope, please proceed with the "for better for worse" slogan if you don't mind dying before you finally die. Or go grab a copy of "the Verbally Abusive Relationship: How to recognize it and how to respond by Patricia Evans" and see how much of your damaged life you can salvage. I suggest you don't make contact with your wife until you read this book and decide on what you want to do.

I wish you luck in all of your decisions, but stay away from beating anybody.

AroOkigbo: .
You are right to an extent- but note the following:
Unlike in Qatar,
1. EGTL is built on a reclaimed land (you don't want to know how many cubic feet of sand was used)
2. The modules were fabricated in Qatar, Korea, etc and shipped to Nigeria. A new wharf had to be built to take these heavy modules. Moreover, the low water depth meant the sea had to be dredged to take heavy ships.
3. Location. Escravos is only accessible by air or water. A lot of money was spent on flying staff and contactors from Warri and Lagos. Aero contractors, Arik and other airlines made a lot of money. Logistics took a good chunk of the cost of the project.
4. Converting gas to liquid is a whole new technology owned by Sasol. Chevron spent a lot to train operators in SA, US and Qatar. Over 200 people were trained at a point...with some trainees spending over 3yrs in SA.
5. Power supply. A brand new power plant had to be built to take care of energy requirements. And believe me, the energy requirement is high.
6. etc...etc. I don't want to talk about money spent to settle communities, ...and govt. big boys to keep the project going. Uduagha must be commended though. ..without him, the project would have been cancelled by the senate midway.

The GT Diesel and naphtha produced will be exported...100%. Our trucks cannot run on that quality of diesel. So don't expect the price of diesel ever coming down as a result of this project.
Valid post, I can do a synopsis of each of the above points to show that the cost of the project would not have exceeded about $3bn, even with the highlighted differences with the Oryx plant. The last point (No 6) is the sore thumb, many "peasants" ended up as billionaires with obscenely inflated contracts that spanned over 7 years; and there were several of those contracts.

The project was more political than economic and Uduaghan had to make sure it goes ahead to have peace in Delta state. Will it make money? Maybe, but it will take several years to break even.

Say that with some emotion in your face. Even though it's a lie. If Shell offer comes tomorrow, omho, grab it o. LOL
Jarus, I love this thread but think you are off on this one. There are lies and there are lies, the route you suggested above could be interpreted as a dumb lie that portrays the applicant as a dishonest fellow. I sent one guy off from an interview for one of those dumb lies; any lie that tend to show that those on the panel are either foolish or lacks simple understanding of life situations will cause you more trouble than expected. Seriously, many members of interview panels that I have been on will even give you some coaching based on your response and outlook.

I would recommend something simple like "As much as it may not be good for my career development, it is an offer I will be tempted to consider due to the financial inducement. However, my decision will not be based only on the salary but also on other factors such as opportunities for growth". Go ahead to give example, like how long it takes to be a partner in a popular audit firm compared to being a Manager in Shell. The audit firm also provides better opportunities in terms of meeting different kinds of people across the many clients organization. Finish it up by saying that translates to big money on the long term.

Playing smart is very important when under tension to win that job.

4tunebest: Honestly, you can say that again. I wonder how being a modern wife translates to being a feminist. Are all modern women feminists?Aren't there modern women who easily submit to their husbands? Submission from a wife can only be EARNED, It can't be forced. Even if you force submission out of a woman, it won't last.

A real man earns the submission of his wife, so she finds it easy to submit to him. Only a weakling tries to force submission out of his wife. Such weaklings aren't deserving of being called the head of a home
Don't usually comment on threads like this and my opinion is a lot different from what everybody is writing but I wish to correct your statement that submission is earned (at least the Bible did not say so) and also let you know that the Bible preaches mutual submission. The submission preached in the Bible is not conditional but I apologize if you are of different faith.

PENMIGHT: OH! Now, i got what u meant! The roof design is just one of the 2 options i ve seen(for poultry). The other is still a pitched roof with a somewhat raised cap to allow vents along the roof axis.
This type seems common , and perhaps better, than the one in the pics.
My carpenter prefers the one in the pics as it seems slightly cheaper and less cumbersome to maitain.

I wouldnt advice the common roof for the regular buildings
I think the other type is actually better, it cost more and is additional work to construct for carpenters. It keeps the wind and rainwater in check better than the type you have and also provides better air circulation.
You may want to investigate this for future consideration, you are doing an awesome job/investment with the farm.

All went well until week 4-5 when they started dying en-mass, at the end of the day we were left with 15 cockrels and 120 broilers with less than 2kg weight for the big ones and are stunted. Don't bring in any DOC until you knwo what went wrong with the first attempt, management, health, housing, etc. Why did the birds died en masse? Jumping into another one without learning why you didn't do well with the first is a recipe for disaster.

Majority of voters in Nigeria are the lower class (okada riders, market women, farmers, drivers, artisans etc). Majority of middle class and elites show no interest in voting during an election believing that the result has already been fixed. Now tell me how THE MIDDLE CLASS AND ELITES care about govt policies. If it is by protesting; you hardly see them. With all these, how do they care. Nigerians enjoy been fed with lies, this is a very silly and deceptive intervention. Businesses will always beat policies like this one, and the corruption involved in the contract staff business is too deep to be abandoned.

There are good sides to the contract employment situation, many people use it to help others. Companies matches employment/personnel on payroll to their needs/production, what do you do when there is no vacancy? You find a way to bring somebody in as a contract staff pending when they can find a permanent position.

People should see beyond the lies of these politicians and start campaigning for an environment that is conducive for job creation and economic improvement. 2015 is around the corner.
