Turn off your car A/C when driving through a flooded road to prevent water from entering your engine through the fan. I've once had a bad experience with this and its not funny at all.

Health › Breakthrough: Nigerian Rev. Doctor Claims To Have Cure To Hiv/aids by igbsam(op): 7:01pm On Jun 19, 2011
Dr Ngochindo spoke to a section of the press in Port harcourt after he received his patent licence from the Patent and Designs Council in Abuja. He said his ‘chemotherapy’ has been subjected to analysis and tests.

Dr.Ngochindo who is also a Professor of Diabetology and a Research Fellow from Pecs University had in the past claimed he had a breakthrough in offering a permanent cure for diabetes.

Dr Ngochindo who has a Post Graduate Degree in Toxicoloy was granted a patent licence for his Permanent Cure for Diabetics Mellitus by President Olusegun Obasanjo through Patents and Designs on December 6,2000.

The Anglican priest was one of the few Nigerian brains who was picked for a foreign Scholarship in 1971. He has a Clinic known as Christian Medical Centre,Port Harcourt where 25 HIV/AIDS patients have been treated.

He said he was ready for any scientific challenge anywhere in the world.

On his latest claim ,he said “God wants to prove that with Him nothing is impossible for they that have absolute trust in Him.This is the time for Nigeria ”

He said his breakthrough is scientific not herbal. He said he first tested his drugs on small mammals and later humans. “All the drugs in the market are on reversing the hand of the natural process of DNA to RNA in protein and the persons look cured, but not cured.By God’s grace,I can now cure AIDS through chemotherapy.”

On his next plan,Dr. Ngochindo said ” The federal Government has given the patent. What is required now is for me to produce it to NAFDAC and SON specifications. This is where we need assistance and partnership with the federal government, the state, companies and others for us to mass produce the drug for the world”

I have always said it, If we want the price of cement to reduce, the govt should kindly open borders for cement importation since these capitalists like dangote are lying to us that they produce at N1,500 just to satisfy their own selfish interest. If this is done, there would be competitions in the market just like we have with the telecommunication industry. Kill monopoly

I don't get the hammer on the "pre-order thread"

So if this is gotten, then what happens to the "general dealers section". It comes back to a market rage huh

We need a general solution, not a disection.

Fish out dupes
Improve security
Eradicate multiple registration
Build a family
Spread the word on NL's aim, genuity and one goal vision

This site has the tendencies of a global reach and it's in the bowl of we members.

Kind regards.
n
Please pardon me. I was wondering how you would single handedly fish out dupers and scammers from a forum where you have over 600,000 users. I dont think, this would work. I would suggest we do the following

(1) Alert the people who are willing to trade here to abide by some certain terms and conditions in order not to get duped. Like, not paying upfront for something you've not seen without meeting the dealer one on one.
(2) They should try and get recommendations from moderators of this forum and find out more facts about the dealers.
(3) Any new dealer should report his/herself to the moderator for certifications before he/she can appear in the public forum for his deals.
(4) A Thread should be opened where certified dealer's name would be listed for the public after being screened and certified with genuine back-ups for their claims. Then a buyer can trade with the listed dealers only.

Just suggesting.

This is a welcome idea and i totally agree with the poster. I also noticed a recent increase in marketing of cars and other things here on the auto forum than giving solutions to problems that has to do with automobile issues. When you come on and ask for a solution for a particular problem you are experiencing with your car, rather than bring solutions, they would advertise you the cars they have for sale. This is somehow funny. I think a section for car certified car dealers need to be opened and then we have a section for solving vehicle problems. Just suggesting and due to my observations. So many cheaters staining the genuine dealers like inspire_m and co, not here to sing praises of anyone, but this guys are tested and trusted. But new people might feel they are part of those cheating here cos we have a large number of them.
Autos › Solve The Mystery Of A Check Engine Light by igbsam(op): 4:38pm On May 31, 2011
Perhaps the most mysterious warning light on your car's dashboard is the "check engine" light, which can illuminate seemingly for no reason whatsoever and lead to an unexpected bill just for diagnosing the cause. However, it is possible to diagnose, and sometimes even fix, the cause of this warning light without paying a mechanic.

Your car's check engine light is linked to its on-board diagnostic system, which measures functions such as engine speed, ignition timing, fuel mixture and sometimes, the timing of gear shifts. It then uses that information to identify problems in those functions that could affect emissions and performance. There is a wide range of problems that will cause the light to illuminate, ranging from minor to major, so it's important to determine the cause promptly.

Before you find yourself in a situation with the check engine light illuminated, read your owner's manual to understand why it may illuminate and if it has different warnings to help you understand whether the problem is minor or more serious. In many cars, a check engine light that flashes rhythmically -- not just flickers on and off -- indicates a severe problem that needs immediate attention, while a steadily illuminated light indicates a less serious problem.

Once you thoroughly understand how your check engine light operates, here are three strategies you can try before paying your mechanic for a diagnosis.

Remove and reinstall your gas cap, and make sure it's tight. Because the check engine light is associated with your car's emissions system, it will recognize if there are fuel vapors leaking from around your gas cap and set off the warning light. A loose or improperly installed gas cap is the most common reason for the light to illuminate. If the light does not go out after checking the gas cap and the car seems to be running fine, don't assume that was not the problem. It can sometimes take a few trips for the system to reset.

Get the engine's diagnostic code from an automotive pro for free. If you own a General Motors vehicle with OnStar, contact an OnStar adviser who will read the code from your car remotely. Many auto parts stores and franchise oil change and transmission-service shops will read the code for free, though they may pressure you to do the repair with them. If you get a code read by one of these shops, ask for the code itself -- usually a single letter, followed by numbers -- and then use the shop for the repair if you are confident of the work.

Many cars have some method of displaying the trouble code, usually using the key and either rotating it between the accessory position (the position where you can power the radio and other accessories without the car running) and the "on" position (without starting the car) a specific number of times. With some, you keep the key in the accessory position, and push and hold the trip odometer and reset buttons. To find instructions, do an Internet search on the year, make and model of your car plus the words "check engine code" and "manually."

Once you know the code, you can research what it is associated with on websites such as OBD-Codes.com (for on-board diagnostics codes) or ALLDATAdiy.com. In some cases, you can get instructions on how to repair the car yourself on those websites.

Keep in mind that, if there is a problem beyond a loose gas cap, the trouble code produced by the diagnostic equipment is usually associated with more than one problem. Ultimately, it's good to work with a trusted mechanic who can deduce the cause of the problem in your car.

Politics › Post-election Violence: Cpc Effects Bail Of 600 Suspects In Kaduna by igbsam(op): 8:45am On May 24, 2011
KADUNA – Six weeks after their arrest and detention over alleged involvement in the violence that engulfed parts of Kaduna following the release of the last presidential election results, the Congress for progressive Change, CPC, in Kaduna state, yesterday, said it has so far secured the bail of over 600 suspects.

The CPC said it is still working to secure bail for more, saying it was all on compassionate grounds and in the spirit of oneness, since not all who breathed freedom were CPC members.

The CPC State Party Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Yaro disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Kaduna .

In spite of the high number of CPC supporters arrested during the crisis, Yaro , denied the allegations that members of his party were responsible for the post election violence, putting the blame on supposed aggrieved PDP members who lost at the party’s primaries.

“It was PDP members who were fighting each other as a result of the fall-out of the primaries. It was a crisis within the PDP that caused the vilence, many of their members were not happy, that was why they started the crisis it was not CPC”, he said.

“The violence was erroneously linked with CPC. The police arrested people all over the state in connection to the violence not because they had any connection to CPC.

“Most of those arrested shortly after the post election violence were mostly CPC members but their arrest was done in error while the allegation against them is false and baseless.”

“The violence did not start from the CPC, it started as a result of people’s anger with the leadership of the country. The people were angry because of government’s failure to give them what they want. So they decided to protest to show the government that they are doing badly.”

“They want to blackmail CPC that was why they said it was CPC that started the violent protest, they saw that CPC was about taking over the government and they don’t want the CPC to win. For instance, there has never been an election in Nigeria where Army or Police attacked people like the recent elections. So that’s why they moved the military against the party because they don’t want CPC to win,” he alleged.

NYSC › I Slept In The Bush For 3 Days To Stay Alive – Female NYSC Member by igbsam(op): 7:37am On Apr 30, 2011
Miss Vivian Chidinma Anumba is one of the lucky corps members who survived the recent Bauchi mayhem, where many young people serving their fatherland were butchered.
The female corps member, who hails from Uzoako community, in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, read Banking and Finance at Federal Polytechnic, Oko and was serving at Shira Local Government Area, Bauchi State, from where she ran home, like a refugee.

Narrating her ugly experience to Saturday Sun, Chidinma said she slept in the bush for three days, running for her life, as all she had, including her credentials were burnt by hoodlums in Bauchi.
Her experience in Bauchi and alleged treatment by her state government on return are pitiable.

How did the violence start in Bauchi?
Actually, the major problem started after the presidential election on April 16, 2011. From the polling units, they started pursuing us, threatening to kill us if President Goodluck Jonathan won. They nicknamed corps members, PDP or Goodluck. They insisted that if Goodluck won, they would kill us.

On April 17, being Sunday, we received threats also that corps members, especially Christians, would be killed. When the presidential results were being released and Jonathan was winning in 21 states, they started threatening us again. Later, they started burning houses and killing corps members. When trouble got to our arena, in Shira Local Government Area, we started running. They killed some of our colleagues. They cut them into pieces.

How did you escape?
It was survival of the fittest. They started going from house to house, room to room in search of corps members. Even if you were to run into an Hausa man’s house, they would kill you. When we ran into a police station, they came into the police station to kill us. In fact, police station was not safe because they killed some policemen and burnt the place down.
So, we continued running, for three days, until Tuesday, April 19. That was when we were rescued. They had to call SSS people to convey the surviving ones to SSS quarters in Bauchi town; that was where they gathered all surviving corps members and from there, they were taken home by their different state governments.

For us from Anambra State, we found ourselves home here with the help of Imo State Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim. Some entered ANIDS bus to convey them from Bauchi to Awka and on the way, some were involved in accidents; some of them are still in the hospital, as we are talking now.

Did you see them kill people?
I know some people that were killed. There was this young man; he was my neighbour and he was to get married by June. He was a batch three corps member. Unfortunately, they killed him. There was another person, who was like our pastor there. They killed him too. There, they isolated Christians; anywhere Christians are is a forgotten land. They see it as a land that is corrupt. So, they burnt all the churches there. The man we saw as pastor came home after the service that day. We prayed in the house. He helped people to safety. In the process of trying to show people the way to escape, they killed him. They were three roommates. They killed two, with the exception of one who came back with us.
Many others were injured; some of them couldn’t even stand; they were still on wheelchairs before we came down to this place. I got pictures of those killed with my phone. The bodies were taken to the mortuary. Most of them are still in mortuaries in Bauchi State. Their people were coming down there to settle with NYSC officials before they will carry the corpses.

Are you saying there was no security at the polling units?
The security they gave us in the polling units did not do anything because all of them are Muslims. They beat me up in my polling unit because there in Bauchi State, they didn’t do election; they would just command you to share the ballot papers among the parties. Even after obeying them, they won’t be satisfied. After the election, they threw us into a truck and commanded us to start counting for CPC. In fact, if not for God’s intervention, we could have been raped.

You said that you slept in the bush while escaping. What happened?
We slept in the bush behind a rock in order to be safe, because they started going from house to house in search of corps members to kill. If you are an Hausa man and they suspect that corps members are in your house, they would search and anyone they saw was dragged out and dealt with.
They burnt all my property; they burnt my documents, but I really thank God that at the end of the day, I was able to escape. As I said earlier, even the police station we ran to for rescue, was burnt. People that were inside, who were not at alert, became victims. But we had to run into the bush, slept there for three days, before we came out. It was then that we heard that they were coming to evacuate us.

How were you evacuated?
I had to fix myself into the Imo State flight. Ohakim had to send a flight to us and we landed in Owerri. He hosted us. He lodged us in different hotels and at the end of the day, he gave each of us N5, 000 for transportation from Owerri to Awka. He took us to the Government House, entertained us and after entertaining us, he lodged us, gave us transport fare. We from Anambra State, we are about 100 plus that followed the flight. We came back to our own Government’s House that day; we don’t even know how the Governor’s Lodge is because they sent us back from the gate. They asked our driver to turn back and packed somewhere. They stopped us at the gate and addressed us. They gave them N1, 000 each after that. He then asked us to come back on Wednesday. Now, on getting to that place, we were ignored. We sat there from morning till afternoon and the thing we heard was that the governor had travelled. One person came and addressed us and said that we should write our names and that if they had any information for us, they would call us.

We learnt that you met with Dr. Chris Ngige. How come?
We were there when we heard that Onwa (Ngige) was around and we decided to come here.

How did your parents react when you returned?
Oh my God! My mum was happy, though until I got home I did not tell her what was happening to me. It was only my brother that I was telling everything, because I knew my mum would have a health crisis if I told her I was in such trouble, even if I was still alive. She would die before I came back.

What are you going to do next?
I am preparing to go for a thanksgiving in church. I didn’t know that I would still be alive till today because, at a point, I had to say my last prayer that if they met me I was dead. They were everywhere, ready to kill. It was God that brought me home without any scratch.
